Interior chocolate processing area

My friend and I did the chocolate tour and had a pretty fab time overall. The tour was educational and interesting... held my attention most of the time. The samples were plentiful and very very tasty. The person hosting the tour did make a few religious comments and that was a bit uncomfortable, but nobody seemed to make a big deal about it. The shop itself is a beautiful old building with lots of classic features. The chocolate is outstanding but a little expensive. Plan on buying for quality over quantity. The staff was very kind and it was a really great experience. Highly recommended if you want a unique look into local chocolate manufacturing. The price of the tour definitely was made up for samples and being able to take home your very own custom chocolate bar at the end. Hard to argue with chocolate!

Awesome chocolate and service highly recommended!!! The only thing was I wish I would have called ahead to be able to do the chocolate bar tour with making your own because that would have made my experience even better. But they gave us a lot of free samples so that helped make our choices of what to buy. The store is small but lots of choices which where all awesome

Creo could mean something totally different to these folks- but the word really means Believe in Spanish. If I'm talking about the coating only, our bite-size selections at this Lloyd District chocolatier in Portland, had a pleasant cocoa taste and fillings in each, had a subtle hint of flavor. This space houses their factory where they're whipping up their specialty cocoa powders, bagged items and other goodies. The shelving consists of goodies made with Ecuadorian chocolate for their darks- not sure about their milk chocolate and white origins. This Creo location has a dramatic inside with high ceilings and these impressive, almost apothecary cabinets on either side of the shop. I wanted to hang with my daughter over a cuppa hot chocolate or h. cocoa- but, these folks don't make neither. So, we settled on a box of 12- which was steep at $42- but it was nice they honor the 10% Yelp Check-In offer. The real highlight about our visit was Alix's extremely down to earth energy and generous with her samples and smiles. Thank you!

Look at the variety of people in my workshop!

I learned a LOT about chocolate but the most fun was creating my own bar with my own nuts, ginger, sprinkles, etc. Bring your grandkid! Beautiful physical plant, too though quite a drive from where I live. Why not do this at the Broadway store? Is that closing?

This past Christmas Eve I was desperately looking for a chocolate shop for a last-minute gift for an out-of-town guest. Creo came up in my Yelp search results and I couldn't be more happy with discovering this new-to-me chocolatier. And what a discovery it was! Creo has this old world, magical vibe right off... even before walking through the front door. The historic building is covered in beautiful vintage tile, and has a Moorish architectural aesthetic that is just delightful! Those beautiful arched doorways and windows perfectly set the tone when walking into this special place. Inside the chocolate is well-displayed, with two large wall displays containing their chocolate drinking powders, bars, and packaged goods. In addition, there are several cases containing their gorgeous array of truffles. You'll find every kind of chocolate imaginable in this place... with so many opportunities to sample their scrumptious creations. Creo freely offers samples, so don't feel intimidated if they keep offering. Go for it, and just accept all the delicious goodness as part of the chocolate buying experience! Creo chocolates is mind-blowingly delicious. There are so many different varieties and flavor combinations, but a few of my favorites are the salted milk chocolate truffle, the blood orange chocolate truffle, and the raspberry chocolate truffle. Everything is an adventure here, so I suggest you try flavor combinations that are new to you. You never know what new favorite chocolate you might discover!

I was visiting from out of town and we decided to do a Build-a-Bar Tour. It was so fun and educational, and we got to eat a lot of unique chocolates. Tim was great and made the experience enjoyable. It's so cute inside and they have a wide selection of chocolate to satisfy your craving! My favorite was the Black Sesame Brittle, so amazing

(APRIL 2024) I was here visiting and this was along the way to a bakery we were picking up a cake from. It was very busy inside with an active tour but one of the sales reps immediately greeted us and offered us some samples. One of the samples was a chocolate gummy bear. I never thought in a million years that I'd enjoy a fruity taste with chocolate but this was amazing. I ended up buying a truffle sampler that got consumed immediately upon returning to my hotel. 10/10 would recommend!

Wonderful little shop! The shop has some old world feel to it with wood shelves and draws and being part shop and part chocolate manufacturing location. The service was very friendly and very happy to give you samples. The truffle case has a good assortment in it making it easy to fill a chocolate box with very good handcrafted truffles.

Inside is bright, with sherbet colored green walls, lots of shelves and tables stocked with beautifully wrapped candy, gift assortments, boxes of chocolates, novelty candy, gummies, lollipop, and even candy from around the world, including a large variety of Asian candies. For those wanting just an individual piece of chocolate or wanting to create a custom purchase, the counter holds individual pieces of a variety of chocolates. They have all the usual suspects - truffles, salted chocolate caramels, chocolate with nuts, cream filled and more. It was October, so there was a section dedicated to fall colors and Halloween, with candy coming in black cat boxes, candy that resembles an eyeball, witch, ghost, and of course, candy corn. Never understood the appeal of candy corn, you either love it or avoid it, but it's definitely representative of the season. Candy here is priced high, so it's more like a treat or gift, not an everyday purchase. Personally, I think they would be more profitable if they had a broader price range so it could be the candy store you always purchase something from while at the mall.

Cherry cordials, pear cordials, apple cordials in chocolates. Caramel chocolates, chocolate caramels. Thing is it's hard for not to love the store because it has three of my favorite things: 1. chocolate: shelves and shelves of unique artisan chocolates made with skill and care from all over the world. 2. And salt -- am a VERY big fan of picking up local salts whenever one is traveling -- including actual blocks and blocks of Himalayan salt stacked. Not imitation but the real stuff. They even have fresh popcorn for you to taste the truffle salt with. 3. Lastly they have fresh cut flowers. It's like a florist and you can create your own bouquets. Beautiful specimens with structure and freshness. I have to say they also have bottles and bottles of bitters -- crafted bitters. King Floyd chief among them. The staff person was super helpful. I've purchased some of the Maldonado finishing salt, and it absolutely makes a difference. Never use these salts as an ingredient, it's used to sprinkle on meats, veggies, potatoes, right before serving. Awesome on chocolate cookies. They even sell small containers for salt, known as salt cellars, so you can keep your favorite salt in your purse in case your restaurant meal is lacking that little something extra. They refill for life, for the tiny ones only. I enjoy checking out this store when I'm in the area or when looking for a gift for one of my foodie friends. I'd buy more, but the prices are very high, especially the pasta and chocolate. I can't rationalize $12-15 for a chocolate bar that I'll eat in one sitting. Maybe I'm the problem, maybe one bar is supposed to last for many servings!

I encourage leaning into the theme, get dressed up, wear a fascinator, and fall into wonderland! We were in on a Saturday afternoon and nearly every table was occupied while we were there, yet it felt like we were the only table. The setting is very cool. There's so many hidden gems as you look around the space. Even down to their dinnerware and teapots. Each one unique and fun, enough to generate table conversations. Our server, Joey, was fantastic! He took the time to go over his favorite teas and answer any questions we had about ones we were interested in. I'm not a huge tea fan and I really enjoyed the one I got (birthday black tea-decaf). The food was so yummy! Our party were all so excited to try everything. The vanilla scone was the standout for me, but I did truly enjoy everything. My only caution is that parking can be a bit of a headache in the area so be aware ahead of time, but do not let that stop you from making a reservation for afternoon tea, it's worth it!
