It had a really inviting layout upon entering. I loved that the retail shelves were filled and nicely organized with bars and various chocolate treats available for purchase. There's also a vast selection of individual chocolates in the glass case. I was kindly given a salted caramel with dark chocolate couverture to sample while I wandered the shop. I also filled out an entry slip for a chance to win a gift basket filled with hand crafted, single origin chocolates valued over $300. It was nice to see that their chocolates have been award winning too, seeing awards on display from years past. Shout out to the retail person onsite that day. Very pleasant, professional, and knowledgeable. I was also given a product sheet where it was noted whether in stock or not and seasonal availability. I bought chocolate treats for others, and a 73% dark chocolate bar for myself. Highly recommended!

I'm so glad I tried it because I hadn't been planning to get anything but once I tasted it, it had me SOLD. I was so sad when I finished the bar even though I was savoring it like Charlie from the Chocolate Factory book BUT I'm buying a whole bunch for my family's stocking stuffers for Christmas (they each picked out their own flavor and I'll order them all together) and for my own Christmas presents, hehe. So excited to try more flavors but mainly, to have my favorite brown butter chocolate again! Really high quality chocolate, have never experienced such a rich and complex taste in chocolate that melts so beautifully in my mouth. Normally I'm a die hard dark chocolate fan but the brown butter milk chocolate is so rich that it gives dark chocolate vibes. PS Thanks to the sweet cashier for changing my chocolate life forever!!

I went with 2 GALentines for High Tea and we really enjoyed ourselves! The first course was soup: I…read moreopted for the African Peanut Soup bc it was the vegan option. I'd never had that before so I was wary but it was DELICIOUS. Spicy with spices and just enough spicy hot. Our next course was fruit salad: this was a huge bowl with your typical fruits, served cold. It was nice. Then came our tray. On the tray: tea sandwiches (plenty for each of us- cucumber + cream cheese, roast beef with olives on one side and marmalade on the other- my fave, and a curried something, which was also yummy); scones, and my favorite- the top tier of desserts. All made in house and y'all, these chocolates were glossy and GORG. There were also macarons & petit fours. We each had more than enough to enjoy ourselves while there and even extras to take home! For the teas, we had 2 pots of different green/black blends. I can't remember the names but I very much enjoyed them, particularly the 2nd pot. To finish, we enjoyed mint tea. I had the pleasure of speaking with Ann, the owner, whose expertise I could have listened to for the remainder of the day! I took home some green tea energy (blend) and some yerba mate as Vday gift for my hubs, who loved them. We'll definitely be back!

It's always empty here in Beaverton for a reason. Hillsboro…read moreand Lake Oswego... read up. This is a biz model that you will see through. From bulks tea to repackaging. Marketing at best- designed branding and upscale look. That's how they can charge triple. Profit margins of middlemen example. Their tea from Africa is probably the best gimmick here, note: order extra hot (which you will get lukewarm) don't order cold it's horrible. Anyhow we are tea drinkers in nature and didn't get any sense of aroma. It might taste better if you fool yourself that the owner isn't American, up to your judgement ;) I know because I have good friend from Kenya. Many authentic women/minority for good cause out there that you can prove. Gimmicks are everywhere be careful. My recommendation for loose tea to take home; Tea is originated in Asia- here in Beaverton there are great options 1. Asian market for Oulong, Jasmine, Puerh, or 2. Apna Indian market for Chai, or 3. Uwajimaya for authentic matcha, Genmaicha, etc. Educate yourself go get a real deal. You pay a lot less for good stuff plus organic options, get air tight tin containers from Michaels, best consume within a year. And honey from farmers market is real local. Don't be fooled. Talk to the people who make things, not the repacking business. Afternoon tea? Invest in a set of tea pot, order British earl grey, grab pastries from New Seasons and do better yourself or if you have a lot of money left grab a flight to London, skip the fake expensive ones. Warn you.

We did the classic tasting without any add-ons except for mimosas while we were there. The highlights? We were raving about the vanilla scones (so simple, so good!), the meat pie, and the tea sandwiches. Every tea we selected was delicious and the pomegranate mimosas were a highlight for all of us. I encourage leaning into the theme, get dressed up, wear a fascinator, and fall into wonderland! Notes: reservations are highly encouraged due to limited space, so definitely make sure you reserve ahead of time! Allow extra time for parking - this is in the heart of downtown Beaverton and may require a little bit of a walk, but don't let that discourage you, keep circling and you'll find something, or settle for a nice little jaunt and enjoy the charm of downtown Beaverton.

We were in on a Saturday afternoon and nearly every table was occupied while we were there, yet it felt like we were the only table. The setting is very cool. There's so many hidden gems as you look around the space. Even down to their dinnerware and teapots. Each one unique and fun, enough to generate table conversations. Our server, Joey, was fantastic! He took the time to go over his favorite teas and answer any questions we had about ones we were interested in. I'm not a huge tea fan and I really enjoyed the one I got (birthday black tea-decaf). The food was so yummy! Our party were all so excited to try everything. The vanilla scone was the standout for me, but I did truly enjoy everything. My only caution is that parking can be a bit of a headache in the area so be aware ahead of time, but do not let that stop you from making a reservation for afternoon tea, it's worth it!

Today I decided to be REALLY impractical and drive across the East side to Woodblock for my coffee…read more My last cappuccino from there was so good, my 12 year old son kept stealing it! He doesn't drink much coffee, but after Italy, he knows when it is a good drink. This is located inside a chocolate factory - none other than Woodblock, the best of the best. Now they've added SUPER delicious baked goods! Last time we got their chocolate chip cookie that is finished with a big slice of woodblock milk chocolate in the center. I also got a mini cinnamon roll, and for me, the cheese puff. The cheese puff is the combination of a popover and the best of alpine cheeses. I always end up getting a special bar or two for a host gift or just for my sons. The space is beautiful - high ceilings, lots of light and wood. I have two teen boys, so I spend PAINFUL amounts of time in the car shuttling them, delivering stuff to them. I will choose that drive for a Woodblock morning!

The retail section also has single origin chocolate bars from Ecuador and Peru, drinking chocolate, beautiful bars peppered with various add ons, chocolate covered hazelnuts and more. All packaged beautifully - perfect hostess or just because gifts! Woodblock has designed a beautiful space. Inside, when you enter, there are tables and chairs for those that want to enjoy chocolate, tea or coffee beverages and snacks there. Further back is the Counter that offers bakery items like chocolate chip cookies, savory cheddar & jalapeño scones, croissants and muffins. They have a variety of drinks which of course includes hot cocoa! But also matcha lattes, mocha's. Chai lattes and chocolate sodas To name a few. Located one door down from NE Broadway on NE 17th, It's worth stopping in! Sure, you can buy their chocolates at several retail places around Portland, but here, you can enjoy fresh pastries and chocolate drinks and purchase goodies to go.
