Not our typical ice cream spot! Has very VERY unique flavors. Some that may even be weird but somehow work! I love how they change their menu or should I say have a seasonal menu! Great for never being bored with the flavors! My hands down favorite it the lavender one! Taco ice cream in collab with Taco Bell is good too!

I love all the experimentation the company has with their flavors. I was especially happy with this month's berry series featuring various berries. I like that they usually have one or two vegan options on the menu. The poor servers are terribly overworked, but our plate and patient. Warning that if you ask for a cone, they will default to the $1.50 extra waffle cone, not the standard sugar cone.

Fun and new ice cream made from Tillamore milk. Yum!! It's very creamy and flavorful, to where you can taste the lavender but not over powerful

This Salt & Straw location can be found at the Bridgepoint Village, across from the Regal Cinema, and newly opened (during Mother's Day weekend, according to the employee who helped us). My family loves Salt & Straw and have gone to some of the locations in Southern California. We, (my husband, our little girl and I), decided to stop by here last Thursday afternoon, around 1:50 pm (and yes Salt & Straw is dog friendly). There was only one party ahead of us. A friendly employee (whom could possibly be the manager?) helped us at the counter. In the month of November, the monthly limited menu for this month is Thanksgiving inspired, which is what I wanted to try. So we ended up ordering the following: Flight, $15.50- With a flight, you get 4 flavors and 4 waffle cone chips. For our flight, we got 4 of the 5 Thanksgiving flavored ice cream scoops. This amount of ice cream you get in a flight really is a lot and perfect for sharing with others. Kid Size Scoop, $5.25- The employee who was helping us was so kind to comp this for us, as he said it was for our little girl dog. He had asked if we wanted a pup cup for our dog and I told him that we were actually going to share a little bit of the ice cream that we are getting. For the Kid Size scoop, we got the Cranberry Orange Sorbet. Single Scoop, $6.95 + Waffle Cone, $1.65- My husband really wanted to have his own scoop (even though he knew we were coming to try a flight of of their November month ice cream), so he got the Coffee and Love Nuts Flavor in a waffle cone. Coffee and Love Nuts flavor and the Honey Lavender are his 2 favorite classic flavors that he usually will get if he isn't being adventurous with the monthly limited menu. -------------------------------- (Total= $29.35 prior to comped kid size scoop) As for the flavors we tried: Parker House Rolls With Salted Butter- One of my favorites of the 5. The flavors worked really well together. You can taste the bread but had a sweet and salty flavor that was creamy. Turkey Stuffing and Cranberry Sauce- This flavor combination was both my husband and my least favorite. It was rather salty, which is disappointing because I had high hopes for this one. I was really hoping it would be good because I really love those Thanksgiving sandwiches at other sandwich shops and was hoping it would similar. Maple Kognut Squash With Pomegranate- Of the 5, this was my favorite and would order this again. It had a light sweet flavor from the squash with a light sweet and tart flavor of the pomegranate. Pumpkin Pie Tiramisu- This was my husband's favorite of the 5. I felt this flavor had a strong coffee flavor, which dulled the flavor of the pumpkin. But it was nice that this wasn't overly sweet because of the bitterness from the coffee. Cranberry Orange Sorbet- I thought this was a little too tart for me. But my husband liked this and enjoyed it. Overall, service was quick and very friendly. I really loved talking to the employee who helped us. And I also really like the location where this Salt & Straw is at. There is also an outdoor (covered) seating area right in front of Salt & Straw, which makes for a nice place to sit and eat your purchase. There is also a small fireplace if you get lucky to grab a seat if you visit during the colder months (living in So Cal, it's still warm enough for us to have ice cream year round). If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular.

Gotta love Salt & Straw! It was an unexpected surprise seeing this location after attending a YEE nearby. And I was told this location was new too. Upon entering, I can definitely see the newness from both inside and out. Nice and clean! Came here on a late Tuesday night which wasn't very busy. Even the staff said it wasn't busy lol, but I can imagine high traffic during the weekend as they're across from a Regal Theaters. Compared to some of their other locations, I'd say the downtown Portland location has mellowed down but still popular. The Beaverton location is still a crappy long wait in line, blah no thank you! But this location, I dig! We only ordered two separate single scoops ($6.25 each). If you've been here before, they have their usuals like the Chocolate Gooey Brownie, Pear & Blue Cheese, and Cinnamon Snickerdoodle. I simply went with the Last Chance Scoop, the Coconut Cake & Pineapple Jam. So sweet, smooth, and refreshing as always! Since it's October, they have their Limited Edition Halloween Series Flavors out. So try it while you can! Service was awesome. Thank you McKenzie (hope I spelled her name right) for all the samples and the vivid description of the candied insects in the Creepy Crawly Critters flavor. Tempting, but not appealing to me lolz. No real seating inside, but what's cool is, you can sit outside by the fire pits if it's a bit chili outside. Enjoy!

I had the jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella ice cream! It was delicious! The customer service was wonderful despite it being extremely busy. The guy in the green bandanna and glasses had excellent customer service specifically. He was very polite and helpful.

I usually get a split single scoop. I like checking out the last chance scoops flavors. Since I love Birthday Cakes and Blackberries (5 stars), I was glad it was still available a week after the July Berry Series was over. I recently got Mom's Mango Pie (5 stars), and it's usually offered in November. I recently tried Caramel Apple Sherbet (4 stars), which is part of their September Apple Series. Since I usually get Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons (5 stars), it was a nice variation with seasonal fruit and the delicious caramel. All the customer interactions have been good, and the service was 4 stars. They were consistently eager to help upon entering, and they offer samples. It's never been busy when I get ice cream, but there's plenty of room to wait inside and outside if there is a line. They recently launched a rewards program if you are a fan. Since this location opened, it's my must stop when I go to Bridgeport Village.

Love trying all their seasonal flavors, March has to be the best with the cereal flavors.

I recently stopped by this new Salt & Straw location in Bridgeport Village in Tigard. I've had Salt & Straw from a few different locations in the Sacramento area, but this was my first time trying it in the Portland area, which is where this ice cream chain originated. I wanted to know if it would be better from a shop closer to the source. For an ice cream shop, this location is very large and very clean (at least, so far). The inside of the shop kind of feels like the inside of an ice cream barrel with all the dark wood paneling. I think the quality and freshness of the ice cream was about the same as in Sacramento, but the customer service was so much better. Maybe it's because this store is new, but the young man who helped me was very warm and friendly. I kept apologizing every time I asked to try a flavor, and he was like, "You can try as many flavors as you'd like, so there's no need to apologize." After I asked to try three flavors from the Summer Berries Series, he asked if I wanted to try the rest, but I declined. I ended up ordering a small with two seasonal flavors: Birthday Cake and Blackberries, and Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero. What's amazing about this ice cream is the way every single individual flavor stands out, and how perfectly executed the flavors are. I could really taste the goat cheese, the marionberries, and the habanero. A few bites were so spicy that the creaminess from the ice cream was barely enough to tone it down. Salt and Straw is pretty pricy at about $7 for a small. In this case, it was so fresh and delicious and the customer service was so great that it just about justified the higher price tag.

    Let's give this a try!

This is an incredible place where the tasting is just divine! All the flavors capture the exact menu. For example the strawberry pretzel salad each part of the tasting you can taste exactly that. Unlike others who say they have a flavor and the strawberry over powers the whole tasting! Service was impeccable I appreciated how they took my nut allergy to the next level. Ensuring that they grab my tastings from a separate container really caught my attention on customer service. Also, walking into this establishment it was clean and very friendly. Warm welcomes all around! Keia was very helpful and knowledgeable about the different flavors presented. I settled for the honey lavender with Mary and Berry Cooley and whipped cream. It was divine stop in here for your next ice cream fix it's definitely a gem.

So happy that Salt & Straw has opened this location! Parking at Bridgeport Village is easy and with S&S right across the street from the Regal Cinema, it's easy to find. Taste tests are encouraged and with so many flavors, you'll want to take advantage of this offering. I had a small cone with my favorite flavor: Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons. Oh so yummy! They have a monthly menu of rotating flavors as well as the regulars that are served all the time. There are several dairy-free and/or gluten-free options as well as pup-cups for your favorite pooch and cakes to take home. Need an ice cream fix? Try Salt & Straw!

I had a hard time picking a flavor, because several sounded great! I sampled bananas foster, hazelnut cookies and cream, and pumpkin bread with cream cheese frosting. They were all delicious! I ended up choosing bananas foster with candied pecans. The flavor and texture were delightful. Both associates working were friendly and helpful. There wasn't any indoor seating, but picnic tables nearby (if you don't mind the cold).

It's hard to say anything about Salt & Straw that hasn't already been said by others, but coming from someone who does not generally like OR eat ice cream, gelato, or anything even remotely similar (I know, I know...what kind of monster am I?), I will absolutely tear into a (small) serving of some of their savory selections, like Arbequina Olive Oil, or even the Cinnamon Snickerdoodle, if I am feeling frisky. I really wish they had a tomato ice cream! This location, which officially opens (checks watch) today, is staffed by a fantastic crew of engaging, friendly, and wonderful people who practically fawned over us...well, over my wife, our two baby sons, and our puppy whom we smuggled in in the base of our stroller, that is...and made us feel very, very welcome. It was a sweet touch on an already sweet experience. There's a reason Salt & Straw is a local legend in the Portland area, and this new location in Bridgeport Village is poised to carry on and expand that legacy to even greater heights. You know what you're getting into with Salt & Straw, because you want it. You CRAVE it. And if you don't know, do yourself a favor, get in here, and find out. It'll turn even the biggest ice cream curmudgeon (like me!) into a soft serve softie.

We were seated quickly -- it was a nice day, so we sat in their lovely outdoor dining area. They brought us room temperature waters (not a fan), and took our drink orders rather quickly. Service was good throughout our visit. I ordered the IPA Bacon Cheeseburger, which came (over)loaded with lots of fresh vegetables, a large burger patty, and the IPA mustard sauce. I don't want to complain about a burger being piled high with bacon, pickles, and fresh onions, lettuce, & tomatoes; but it was difficult to eat. While the Challah bun was delicious, it was woefully undersized for the task of holding it all together. I enjoyed it, but felt the IPA sauce was lost in the midst of everything else, and I also thought the burger patty was under-seasoned. I ordered fries as a side, and unfortunately they were the "battered" variety, which I just don't enjoy. Restaurants -- please, just serve normal French fries, without any batter on them! We knew from past experience that baked goods and desserts are really what La Provence is good at, so we ordered Tiramisu for dessert. Their very non-traditional take on this Italian classic would probably some people uneasy, but it was delicious. It had a dense chocolate cake base, with a thick layer of mascarpone mousse on top of that, then a topping of thin, crunchy, chocolate hazelnut ganache. Not too sweet, with a variety of textures to enjoy. We would definitely come back again, but I'd get something other than burger and fries.

When we moved to Oregon, it was under construction but we kept hearing how good it was - in fact, all the local FB pages would gush about it when a newcomer would ask about the best restaurant. And once it finally opened, we tried it, but it was kind of like Marie calendars and Shari's, but local. Ok, but not what we had expected for all the hype. So, after trying a handful of options it seemed Bannings was the only place we could still get breakfast so I begrudgingly agreed. Well, I was mistaken! I got the breakfast enchiladas and a strawberry orange mimosa. Now, the mimosa - I'll get that out of the way first. It was weird - it looked curdled. It just had mashed strawberry at the bottom and it actually was quite good. I'd do a normal mimosa in the future, but good. But the enchiladas - delicious. Like, I'll come back again and again for those. And they didn't charge me extra for the avocado, which I think is righteous because I asked for no hash browns. But not all places would do that, they'd nickel and dime even if you passed on one side for another. Additionally; my husband likes a savory breakfast and a sweet one too - so he often gets two breakfasts and though he may not eat all of both he gets that savory and sweet. Well, the omelettes come with 3 pancakes. Perfection. And, I took 3 bites of them - I usually might try 1 or not at all - they are very very good. Last - it did not break the bank.
