This girl is in a wheelchair so any opportunity I can get to wheel myself around a real Farmers Market and not be bombarded with thousands of angry people...YES PLEASE. Get there while it's new people! We even got there within an hour of closing and had a great time! I wished I had a few more business names to give you besides Missionary Chocolates but, alas, I don't and Bridgeport Village really seems to not really be promoting this a huge amount so I was unable to find a list of vendors. I only really saw about three actual farm stands with produce and two carried berries mostly. We did grab some of the best looking lettuce I have ever seen though. We also bought some of the most amazing sausages. One berry stand was a bit jacked up with a very angry woman shooing away children. Speaking of which...I am about to get on my soap box a minute to parents. Seriously, I love you...I do - you do something I myself just cannot do BUT, please feed your kids. These are kids riding brand new fancy bikes in their fancy clothing...CLEARLY you have the money to feed your children...there are some good places for that right around there...seriously... Because every time I would get remotely close to anything at all some psycho kid would cut me off asking for samples and then the vendor would help them...all of them. Honestly, besides us and the parents of these kids it was pretty slow so getting bum-rushed but kids on approach was a bit much. With that said, there were hand made soaps, baked goods, flower arrangements, jewelry and crafted goods. Also, I really wish we had look at the location before parking all the way in front of Marios - that area of the parking lot is always so crowded due to most of the restaurants being over there leaving the garage pretty free for parking. So I rolled myself and my husband walked at the way over since the market is located on the street inside the mall area in front of the parking garage every Tuesday night from 4-8pm. We are definitely going to try to start going regularly.

This farmers market is a little less hectic I'd say, and I dig it!…read more Nestled in a square parking lot, next to a few small businesses and a New Seasons, is the Orenco Farmers Market. Many times I've seen it and many times I've avoided it. But now I regret not checking it out the first time they opened up a few years ago. Here's a few tips and details: * Parking * Most folks park in the New Seasons parking lot, or down the residential streets. The times I've been here, the lot has never been full. So I've never had any issue finding parking. * Favorite Vendors * ~ The Pie Guy - out of North Plains. If you yelp that, you'll see why he's different. Love their variety of pies. ~ Pilgrim's Roasted Nut'z - Another North Plains favorite! You can literally go nuts buying more than one bag. ~ Kookido - UGH, mochi-filled cookies! I'm a mochi lover and chewy soft cookie kind of guy. These are heaven in a container! ~ Pablo Munoz Fruits - I'm all about their peaches and berries! ~ Martinez Family Farms - Come here early for these guys. They always have a long line to pay. ~ Favorite Produce - I dig their fresh flower bouquets. ~ Helvetia Vineyards & Winery - Another local wine favorite. Try a sample! ~ Baird Family Orchards - mmm mmm, gotta love them peaches! Especially their Sweet Sue yellow peaches. ~ Our Little Farm and Nursery - Haven't bought anything from these guys, but they're the ones that freshly roast peppers. People love'em! ~ Slow Rise Bakehouse - Located out of Forest Grove. Check out my ROTD for them ;) ~ Thompson Farms - The "pear guy"! He's picking bosc pears soon. I cannot wait! ~ Papa's Sunflower Seeds - Flavored roasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds. These are the guys that do team fundraising. ~ Ochoas Catering & Events - Necessito burrito! They wrap up fat burritos (and more) and their salsas are simply el mejor! For the most part, if it's a hot summer day, the market can close a bit early due to excessive heat. I've yet to go here on a rainy day. But in closing for my next visit, I'm trying the pasta lady, the hot sauce guy, and the fresh mini donuts. Oh and the mouthful momo stand. I absolutely love visiting Orenco Station - Hillsboro market for the first time last weekend. It's a good opportunity to support local and small. Parking wasn't an issue as there is desinated parking areas in apartment lots in front of the market. My favorite part was the local food vendors! We grabbed momos (delicious), tacos (best tacos in Oregon in my opinion), and hummus. HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEKEND! S/O to Ochoa Catering and Events and Hummus Spot for putting my partner and I in our taco and hummus era. The service from these vendors were great and it was fun chatting about how their business started. Orenco Station - Hillsboro market is laid back and a good break from the hustle and bustle of city life. We will be back!

Unfortunately the carnival rides are only turned on and operational on weekends and we went on a Tuesday so our kid was disappointed. We liked the big fun slide, jump pad, sandpit and playground. On the other hand, admission was expensive, refreshments were at additional costs, limited in selection and there was no food or beer. There were donuts but that's it. Dusty parking lot and barrel wagon rides. Everything was kind of meh, and to top everything off, our toddler picked up germs and caught a cold from playing here.

The weekend after Thanksgiving they host a Holiday Market with about a dozen vendors selling their handmade crafts and treats. It's a fun way to kick off the holidays. Inside their barn, they have their own year round market where they sell honey, jams, baked goods, and pies and fruit in the freezer. Fun to visit throughout the seasons!
