This park is such a little gym. There's so much to do here for all ages. There's a splash pad, big playground and gym equipment all one little corner. The bathrooms and are large individual stalls with changing areas and a family restroom. There's even an outdoor shower to rinse off after using the splash pad. There's a limited amount of tables. Whenever I go the covered bench area always has a party going on. I don't see any phone numbers to call to reserve so I'm not sure if it's first come first served but there is a large concrete area and I've seen people bring their own chairs and tables. read more

My fondest childhood memories were during elementary school where the end of the year field trip would be a walk across from Oswalt and we would spend the entire day here. We'd play board games, play outside, do a picnic, the works. I'm not sure if the kids these days still do that here or it no longer happens. It's a nice park that's been updated in those decades. The playground is nice and clean with good facilities and there's those exercise machines too. It does get a bit crowded since a lot of the local community comes here to walk, hang out, and there's baseball and soccer games. Once in awhile, there's food trucks here too. Parking can get a bit tough during those times, but the surrounding neighborhoods work too. Very clean, very safe and populated. read more

Strolled around the area and passed by this park to use their restroom. WOW!! The restrooms were sooo clean and it didn't smell. I'm impressed, there was a splash pad, public workout space baseball fields. I loved their swings and was able to get on it for a few minutes. Super clean. i initially only came here to drop off my ballot here near walnut but it's such a nice park for families and friends to loiter around!

My daughter is into volleyball and this is the only park in the area that has a court. The court is a sanded court with partial shade. The drawback is the court is very close to the road way, would be better if it is more inside the park so the ball doesn't roll onto the road. read more

Great neighborhood park in my town, the 'City of Walnut,' but it's unlike Chino Hills' 'English Springs Park,' with a touch of a huge pond there. This local park is more for baseball games, large parties, varieties of daily exercising and dog walking as well as for kids to play around the playground. It's right by my house, so I can actually walk here, but it would still be a bit of ways. I would prefer walking in a park over exercising in a gym, because this is more of an open space and you can still walk, run, jog with your iPod on without having to pay a dime or feel peer pressured to work out. Creekside Park is a hidden park located in Walnut. The park is super clean and well kept. The benches and the playground is newer than most parks. It's a perfect place to check out for the family. The park offers a huge playground for 2-5 and 5-7 year old. But I would say the playground is more equipped for older kids though. There is also an outdoor exercise equipment and volley ball court. They do provide a canopy for the playground and the exercise equipments. Parking is located on the street. What this park lacks are huge trees to provide more shades. They do have trees. But smaller trees so not much to hide from the sun in the summer. There is plenty of parking located on the side of the street. read more

This is an awesome, SHADED park (more so than most) for the kids to roam. They have two playgrounds that is pretty updated. There's a small playground for young kids, which is shaded. The playground for older kids is quite large but isn't shaded at all. They have exercise equipment for adults to use. The only downside of this park is that the restrooms are on the opposite side of the park. It's not too far of a walk but for toddlers who like to tell you literally the second before they want to use the restroom, it might be a hassle. There are lots of shaded grassy areas, benches, and even a small volleyball court. read more

Had a gathering here in October and while it was not our first choice, I was happy they accepted our reservation for a day we wanted. After reserving a specific day with the Walnut Parks & Rec Dept, evites were sent out to about 80 people. I got there around 1pm to set up for our gathering that would start at 2pm and there was already a birthday party happening in the space that we reserved. Awkward! Lol. So I approached the group and let them know that we had this space reserved. They looked confused and at first, were hesitant to move. At this point, there was only 30 minutes until the guests would start arriving so I started getting a little nervous. I showed them the email confirmation saying that we had this space reserved and apparently, the Parks & Rec. dept had put up a sign saying that we had this space reserved on the bulletin board that's very easy to miss, so the park space looked open. Eventually, the group complied and moved their party over to the grassy area. We began setting up and was able to utilize all of the park tables, the concrete area where we set up our food, and pitched up a tent with a banner. Everyone arrived and had a great time. There was also a park/jungle gym where the little ones can play on, while the adults keep a close eye on them. There's also plenty of grass area, so we brought a volleyball net which was a huge hit. Although, we did have to bring a few tables and chairs ourselves to supply enough seating, this park is overall a great outdoor space for gatherings, especially if you have kids. read more

There is more then enough room for parking if you decide to try out this park. The kids will have a lot of fun because of the different types of climbing structures the have. There's 12 acres of fun that your kids will truly enjoy. The playground was renovated in 2016. Only down fall if if you are in the grassy area the restrooms are really far. This park is super kid friendly. My co-workers and I come to Creekside Park on Thursdays after work to play beach volleyball. Every time we come, there are always a ton of kids and their parents at the park. There is also sometimes a little league baseball game. This park also has a public bathroom and for the most park, it is fairly clean! The only reason I'm deducting a star is because everytime we come to play beach volleyball, there are always kids playing and digging in the court because there isn't a kid's sandbox elsewhere in the park. This becomes a safety hazard for the people playing volleyball because the kids leave ditches and mounds and also toys buried in the sand. The volleyball players can easily jam a toe on a toy car or on the compacted sand where the kids excavated the soft sand. read more

Situated on 12 hilly acres, this park boasts a beach volleyball court, playground, baseball fields, walking trail, restrooms, a snack stand, open spaces, a whole mess of trees, and a dinky parking lot. This is the more less known park in the Walnut area since it's located west of Lemon Ave. but it's taken good care of by the city. (Located next to Oswalt Academy) Personally I think this is the best park in the area, it's maintained everyday, people who frequent this park are extremely nice, it's generally not too crowded and there aren't a million flies eating your face and legs. This park also hosts some community events during the year, such as the 9/11 Memorial, Chinese New Year Festival, and the Summer Concert Series (this is when the park gets a bit crowded). The one complaint that I have about this park is the parking lot, it's really small and when there's little league games/practice or some event, the lot gets full fast and cars overrun the residential streets, and as a resident of the area, I find it annoying. But, it's only once in awhile, so it's not too bad. This park is really hilly, so it makes for awesome roll-down-the-hill fun for all ages! And, with all the trees, it makes for awesome picnics in the spring and summer! You can reserve spaces for your own parties through the City of Walnut's Park and Recreation Department a week in advance. Also, if you come in the morning, you'll be fascinated by the Tai Chi groups doing their thing! It's pretty cool. I'm a huge fan of this park. Being a new resident to Walnut, I attended the very last "Summer Concert & Movie after dark" at this park and was very impressed. It was awesome to see the community so involved, taking pride in their city. The park is very clean and well kept. There is no graffiti and it feels like a very safe area. Every time I have visited this park, there is always something going on, whether it be a volleyball game, soccer or baseball game, or boot camp. It just makes you want to get active. There are always plenty of people jogging, walking their dogs, riding bikes, doing yoga... My kids love the playground. There are little and big slides, twisty slides, toddler swings, and big kid swings. There is even a great little grassy hill that I have seen kids tumble and roll down. Oh to be a kid again! There are plenty of picnic tables and grills available. And plenty of shade for a picnic or nap under a tree. The parking lot is father from the actual playground and is quite small, but there is plenty of street parking. Just be careful, because there are some speedsters flying by on that street. We come here once a week after work to play volleyball. There's a nice sand court with net. There's also a large baseball field/facility, large playground area, and plenty of open, grassy areas. Plenty of parking on a lot or on the street. Well lite. The park is usually kept pretty clean, but the City could spend a little more effort on maintenance. read more

Nice clean park. It has plenty of shade in the playground so the kids won't get burned on the slides. There's even an outside gym. Only one water fountain by the playground and didn't see where the bathrooms were. There is lots of grass area and places for sports. read more

They've recently upgraded the play area and added exercise equipment for grown ups. Nice path to walk around, huge fields for games, small flat pavement section by benches (we see Tai Chi here in the morning).Picnics ideal under big shady trees. It's across the Oswalt School so busy during days when there are school activities. They hold summer movie nights and concerts here. So many things to do. A few years back in High school, this was the closest park to my house until I moved, so I got my friends to come here for baseball. We also looked at Shadow Oak Park, but it was usually taken when we went there (which was right after school at 3 pm Fridays). We avoided Sunshine Park since it was known to be dangerous... Back to Creekside Park. I was a little paranoid about safety, and knowing that the cops patrol this area all the time, Creekside park felt secure. There are three fields; the biggest is for little league baseball, the middle medium field is for youth softball and the smallest is for toddlers [t-ball?]. It was perfect if we got the big field, since almost none of my friends could hit out of the park, but the sunset was the problem. A few times, we went on Saturday mornings and the fields were pretty muddy during winter. The softball field was still a good choice as the sunset rays didn't hit our eyes. The smallest field was quite annoying as we'd need to jump over the tiny fence and even have to run to the parking lot to retrieve a home run baseball. Sometimes little league would take up the two bigger fields on Saturdays, so if you plan to go, make sure you don't go during their practice/games. This park is moderately active, but never too crowded (when I went at least). You'll probably see some small gatherings around the tables and some group of people dancing or doing some sort of yoga together. I liked this park. It's extremely clean and typically calm. A major downside is that there aren't any stores nearby. Random Note: The ice cream truck that passes by is a rip off. read more

I've been going to this park since the beginning, I was raised in walnut all my life, and I am currently also raising my children here. This park has had some changes here and there but I wish there was more. I know in some areas they have a splash pad I wish we would have that.. I have to go out of the area just to go to a splash pad in a not so good area. So word of advice maybe we should complain to the city and say hey we want to splash pad too, this city is making a bunch of money anyways read more

Maintenance in this park is very well, but they put up a bunch of fences around the baseball field. I guess they're trying to make sure people pay to watch the games? Seems kinda dumb imo. Aside from that, this place is a great area for picnics. On Tuesdays they have concerts and parking gets pretty bad. read more
