The grounds are perfect for reflection, laughter, or meditation. I've stayed in two of the rooms over visits and when I say the rooms are clean, I mean not a speck of anything to be seen. I work in the Maid Service industry so if I can't find dust, spills, etc, well that is as perfect as it gets. Peggy is the very nicest you'll ever find for a host and the whole town of Utopia mimics true hospitality. I don't want to leave and I can't wait to come back!

My husband and I stayed in one room, and our daughter stayed across the hall. Both our rooms were lovely and comfortable, each with its own bathroom. Breakfasts were a-m-a-z-i-n-g. The Sabinal River is a beautiful spring fed Texas river, clear and green, with a rock bottom. Bend o' the River even let us use their golf cart to drive the couple of hundred yards to their river access, which even has steps into the water. Peggy and Ron were fabulous hosts. The property is pretty big and Cara is such a wonderful host, and has a sweet South-Texas-Country charm. It's close to town, yet in the country. They can point you toward all kinds of activities including hunting, river,etc. Of course, it was nice that they have their own pool to enjoy after a long hot Texas day. The decoration and furniture is more expensive than usual. You can tell they've put a lot of money into the property. I highly recommend anyone going to Uvalde to stay here instead of a hotel. They also have a zip-line for the kiddos, or in my case the adult kiddo :) Of course, breakfast is homemade and tasty. I don't usually leave reviews, but I had such a pleasant experience I wanted to let others know.

You approach the resort by dirt roads, but they are well maintained and no problem for our sedan. The Tesla nav system was accurate. We had no problems getting there and back. Kelly and Brian are excellent hosts. Brian can regale you with many anecdotes from Central Texas history, most of which I had not heard before, even though we've lived in the Lone Star State for 38 years. Our room was quiet, cool, and comfortable. The lobby is also quiet and is a great place to sit and read. There are two very sweet dogs that have the run of the place. We had a lot of fun interacting with them. You can walk the grounds and along the dirt roads with nearly zero traffic. I do recommend sturdy hiking boots, as cockleburrs are plentiful. There are also venomous snakes in this area, although we did not see any. Better safe than sorry. We will certainly return. My wife expects 5 star resorts and she said this place exceeded the typical 5 star experience. The bedding, linens, amenities were awesome. They had live music and great food and drink options at the head cabin. Every cabin felt private and unique and the babbling creek and ponds along the Creekside were so relaxing to sit by with lots of Adirondack chairs overlooking the creek and rocking chairs on the cabin porches. We also chose this place because they allowed my Australian Shepard to come (only some cabins). The whole experience was amazing and only a 5 minute drive to the main strip. Don't miss a tour of Signor Vineyards, a 10 minute drive West. The most beautiful vineyard and cool experience!

I understand that the cabins are old, and authentic but it would help a little. I would also recommend a little better dusting, around window sills, and windows/curtains, a fair amount of dust that came off, every time we closed the blinds or pulled the curtains. That is the only reason I rated it a 4 instead of 5.

Off the highway, down a narrow, winding paved road, onto a gravel road to seemingly nowhere, past goat ranches, llamas, and beautiful vistas to finally reach the gate and see three lovely little cabins. The hummingbird hideaway where we stayed is cozy, clean and inviting. The front porch is great for sitting, watching the hummingbirds and having s cup of coffee. Breakfast is served at 8:30, and is routinely on time and delicious, even accommodating gluten free diets. The owners and their small children are delightful, but remain out of the way unless needed ( or delivering breakfast). There's a TV in the room. I assume it works, but I never had the desire to turn it on and spoil the solitude. The B&B is within easy driving distance to all sorts of parks, refuges, LBJ's home, Fredericksburg, nice restaurants, wineries, distilleries and breweries. You won't lack things to do if you venture away from the B& B.

Unfortunately we were only in the area one day but we truly enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very nice as well as the outdoor seating area. There were chairs as well as a firepit on the raised deck and a bench by the front door with a nice new rug to really brighten things up. There was also a barbecue pit to use as well as a small refrigerator and microwave as well as dishes for your use. Since we were only staying one night I chose the smaller of the cabins however it was really plenty of room. You walk into a little sitting area and then the main room you have a nice bed, which was extremely comfortable and table for two. A bar area that has dishes, a coffee pot and all the accessories. The breakfast was so much better than the free breakfast offered at hotels. She provided pasties and fruit to start along with coffee, juice and water. While enjoying those, she then prepared made to order eggs, home fries and bacon. We will definitely be returning and staying longer.

But when we found our baby only had half a heart plans changed. He would need multiple surgeries and one surgery right after birth and if he survived we would be looking at months and months in the hospital. We had to relocate to Houston and our wedding plans seemed impossible to think about. We knew we wanted to marry before Noah's arrival but the thought and stress we were both under for what was to come. I didn't have the energy to even think about wedding stuff. Then I found Paniolo Ranch and they had an elopement package, found a photographer... and the next weekend Brandon and I went to the ranch and got married. It was such a beautiful day and Judy was so helpful. We had dinner on the patio after the wedding and it was so special to just be able to talk and enjoy the evening. Noah is now 9 months and we just returned home from the hospital in Houston and for our first anniversary we spent the night out at the ranch and re created our wedding photos with our little guy. It was so special! Judy (the owner) is there and so sweet and helpful for anything you need. During the wedding prep she asks what flowers you want (I just sent her photos of bouquets) and dinner, cake etc The houses are private. The first time we stayed at the Male house which was very nice and close to the main area. This last time we stayed in OHana house and it was really great for privacy! We lounged on the back patio and played games. There is a hot tub and full kitchen too! We will be returning often

We spent a couple of months at the Carlton Club Inn while we were waiting to move into a new home…read more The apartments are furnished with everything you need, they are immaculate, and the landscaping of the grounds is lush and beautiful. What makes this place extra special is the manager. Jamy is the gracious and hard-working. She clearly takes pride in taking great care of both the Inn and the guests. We had a couple of scheduling problems and Jamy was willing to work with us, for which we were very appreciative. The Carlton Club Inn is located only a few hundred yards from the Guadalupe River and about 1/4 mile from the 1011 Bistro. The beds were very comfortable, the linens were high quality, and the bedroom curtains were heavy and lined so they kept light out of the bedroom very well. There is plenty of off-street parking. The Carlton Club Inn was a real Godsend during a time when we were between homes. We could not recommend it more highly and would happily return to stay there again. The lodge we stayed at was very cozy and the bead was super comfortable. This place was well kept and extremely clean. I wasn't sure were I was going to find my caffeine in the am but Becky had a variety to choose from and it was just right outside the bedroom door. Score!! The breakfast was very good, served fresh and hot. After our plates were given to us and she was going to head out to give us our privacy, we enjoyed her company so much that we asked her to stay and visit. We will definitely be coming back to stay here anytime we are in the area. Becky, thank you so much for the Bed and breakfast experience and we hope to see you again sometime.

We have stayed at our favorite Bed and Breakfast several times. We love going back where we can…read morerelax in such beautiful surroundings and be treated like royalty by our hostess, Becky. After a good night's rest we were treated to a yummy county breakfast. There were always Becky's homemade flaky biscuits with her special jelly accompanied by a different menu daily, always including fresh eggs she had collected that morning. There was always coffee and good company. I'm including some photos of the our space during our stay. There was enough room that we are hoping to have some family join us on our next visit to Texas. It is a wonderful place to share with family..all ages! We will be back, and hopefully get more time to visit the farm part of Becky's little piece of heaven.
