Real talk: I stumbled upon this eatery years ago, but never had the opportunity to go 'off the beaten path' on our road trips to stop by - I couldn't wait to check this local eatery with their super cute logo! The hubs and I stopped by here and had a biscuit sandwich, a Hot Roast Beef dinner, and one of their famous hand-pattied burgers (which we actually stayed for an additional hour or so, as they weren't serving the burgers until later!). While the biscuit was forgettable, the hot roast beef was so scrumptious! It was so hearty, savory, and stick-to-your-rib deliciousness, and such a comfort meal on a plate! The burger was ginormous, and you can tell that they hand-form the fresh patties; the patty was super juicy and all the toppings were fresh. Service was so friendly, welcoming, and with a smile! The restaurant itself has such a charm, and I'd love to be able to return again to check out their holiday buffets!

During certain times when you stop in there will be buffets offered with things like frog's legs and the like so if you want to get some local country fixings you can try to haunt the board for those things. I tend to stick to what I know and go with simple items and wouldn't order anything other than a sandwich or the burger from here. It's simple food with a simple kitchen and it's very good for what it is. But this is not a fancy place. It's a small diner in a small town run by friendly locals. Temper your expectations, if you find yourself here and hungry, it'll hit the spot.

To the manager's credit, he eventually tried to make things right and had another smashburger prepared for us. I appreciate the effort, but by that point the overall experience had already gone downhill. A good location and a nice renovation can only take a restaurant so far.
