If I could give this less than one star I would. The front staff was very friendly, but had absolutely no idea what was what. She definitely didn't seem sober on top of the unprofessionalism of talking about her alcoholic drinking habits. She then proceeded to give us the wrong room, and then we had to wait over 2 hours for our other room (okay we understand) just to walk in and the room is still dirty- and there's a USED CONDOM WRAPPER literally right behind the night stand, so they clearly didn't actually clean the room beside replacing the sheets (which were still dirty and very yellow stained. The "housekeeping" crew were ok, but were extremely high and smoking marijuana near the rooms. We also had a no smoking room (as I have a hard time breathing around smokers) just to have the cleaning crew smoke WHILE they are cleaning the rooms, leaving the "clean" rooms lingering with weed and cigarette smell. I would highly stay away from this place. It was not worth the cost AT ALL. read more

The room was clean and as an older ladies traveling alone the room we got was in view of the front desk. Mike the GM was very personable and doubled as the bar keep. Some updates and painting was going on quietly when we inquired we were told it was the new management sprucing the hotel up. The food was great! If you are looking for a cheap, clean, room or the most happening karaoke bar in Covington, VA, then this is the place for you! Due to a PGA tournament my friends and I were having a hard time finding a hotel. Most of the hotels on our route to Washington DC were full or only had one room available. As there were four people in my party we really preferred two bedrooms. Best Western not only had two rooms available, but they allowed us to negotiate the price. I don't know what it is about my personality that enjoys haggling at times...the employee working knocked $25 off each room. The free breakfast was delicious. It went beyond the average cereal and English muffins and had a an array of hot items like fried apples, biscuits and gravy, sausage etc. The rooms have flat screen TVs, mini fridges, and a small table and chairs. Be careful on the stairs leading to the rooms, they are uneven. read more

It was very expensive and they didn't even let me in because I had dogs it was so rude and it was like the rudest thing ever and I think you shouldn't go to this hotel, because they have cameras in the bathroom mirrors. See for yourselves read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. We were really tired and stopped here for the night. There was no bathroom light. No biggie. We used our cell phone flashlights. We are the sad breakfast, checked out, and left. Later that evening I noticed a "rash" forming. After much research, found out the rash is actually bed bug bites. This is horrible. Complained on the survey. Manager called and offered a free room or 10,000 Best Western points to change survey because they have already treated that room and it was supposed to be clean. I will never stay at a Best Western again!!! read more

Travelocity completely misrepresented this hotel. I pulled into the parking lot to check in and was afraid to get out. It looked very sketchy and poorly maintained. There were people yelling at each other in the parking lot in a very threatening way. At that point I decided it was unsafe to stay at this motel with my son. I left and called the hotel to cancel. They insisted they would charge my card due to it being within 24 hours of my reservation. I called Travelocity and they said they couldn't do anything about this. I shared all the reasons for not staying there but to no avail. I was charged a nights stay even though I never went inside. I'm upset with this roach motel and Travelocity. I feel I was robbed and taken advantage of by both, but have no recourse. read more

We stayed here this past weekend and the only thing good about our stay was the breakfast. We arrived late and received our 2 connecting rooms. When we got into the first room not only was it filthy, the light over the bathroom sink didn't work. I had to ask the front desk 3 times to replace the bulb and to clean our room. We have stayed here in the past, but it seems since the new ownership took over the place has gone way down hill. We weren't expecting a 5 star resort but for the prices they charge we do expect the rooms to be clean. Will be staying elsewhere from now on. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Family had a wedding rehearsal dinner at establishment and it was a disaster. The staff was rude, unaccomodating and dirty, yes dirty, hands, clothes and hair. Food was homeless shelter quality and caused illness to guests that night. Guests were not allowed alcohol unless we walked over to bar. When we attempted to do that we were told there was a cover just to order a drink. When discussing this with the wait staff they did not have a solution. Don't risk ruining your big day by involving this place in your plans. read more

Bathroom had dirty handprints on the walls. An old loofah hung from the back of the door. Mirrors were streaked and splattered. Non-smoking room, but cigarette burns in both sets of bed sheets. Highlight of the room was the shower head and good water pressure. Despite being pretty far from the lounge, the music from there was so loud that we couldn't sleep for the bass thumping through the walls. Called the front desk to complain...was told it would continue until 1:30 or 2am, but that he would speak with the lounge manager. It was slightly turned down, but could still be heard. Breakfast was pitiful. They had only one employee taking orders, preparing orders, keeping the buffet stocked, and running the cash register. She was trying, but just couldn't keep up. IF YOU VALUE YOUR $$$ AND SLEEP - DO NOT STAY AT THIS TERRIBLE "HOTEL". This is by no means a hotel - a motel is more apt description as all doors open to the outside and it is very, very loud!. On one side you get to listen to all of the cars that are coming and going as that is where they are parked. On the other side you get to listen to the night club that blasts its music until the wee hours of the morning. The rooms are not particularly clean and do smell musty as others have reported. It is apparent by the continued low score and lack of improvement that management is only concerned about the $ and will keep raking in the $ based upon unsuspecting boobs like myself. I generally check ratings and did not this time. Shame, shame, shame on me! I hope I can save as many folks as possible the aggravation from staying at this horrible place! read more

It's a roadside motel & wonderful for the cost & the view. We usually stay in more costly motels, like Holiday Express or some such. I was so glad there wasn't one in the area because this motel is a real find! The people who run it are sincere and nice and very helpful. Very clean and well stocked. Horrible! I've stayed at best westerns before and know they are not normally anything to write home about but they are decent priced and a good place to stay. This location is horrible! Our first room had an unclean toilet and blood drops on the pillow case. They quickly apologized and switch our room and everything was fine until the dj started! We booked the room on bestwestern.com and there was no mention of a dj. My husband and I were traveling with our 15 month old and the bass blarred in our room until 1:30. When I asked the staff about it they sounded puzzled and asked if i had seen the signs hung up in the lobby. I told them I booked online and there was no mention, she didn't seem to care that we had a horrible night there! read more

The room was pretty nice, bathroom was small though and the fan didn't work. The sheets on the bed don't fit well and they kept coming off. Ro has a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker was awesome to have without having to ask for it. The breakfast was horrible though. It was buffet-style and was very cold. Having a Taco Bell (brand new) within walking distance was nice. They apparently have a gym but I didn't know about it until I was leaving. The parking lot is very tight which was worrisome. The WiFi is painfully slow and took me on average 15 minutes to connect my laptop to it. read more

This place has a bar/night club across the pool area from the rooms and plays very loud music until 2:00am. The bed had a wood frame that was unattached from the bed, and when you sat on the edge of the bed the other side flipped up putting you on the floor. The windows and walls vibrated from the music, when we called the desk they offered no help for either the music or the bed. Don't stay there the service is terrible, and after a day of traveling the road, we got little rest. read more

We were staying there last w/e for a funeral and we had asked the front desk to please have our room cleaned while we were at the funeral...we returned & it wasn't cleaned and we left for a luncheon in their private dining room which was very outdated and hot but the food was very good except the pineapple upside down cake. Our server was very polite. We returned to our room around 2:30 and the room still wasn't cleaned. I went to the linen room and no one was there so I left our dirty towels and took clean ones. Went back to the room and made our beds! I had read a review who complained also about the rooms not being cleaned. Housekeeping finally knocked on our door at 6:00pm! I told her what I had done and she wasn't coming in our room at that hour. My husband told the front desk when we checked out. The bathroom was very small...the door would hit the toilet when you shut it. Their check-in is 4:00pm which is very odd but they want you out by 11:00am. The front desk clerks are very nice and we had 2 problems in our room and the maintenance man was very nice and helpful. The breakfast is a good buffet. This hotel needs to hire more housekeepers. read more
