I was shook up and heard the front wheel and fender making a terrible noise. I immediately pulled off the next exit and stopped at the Exxon and hubby said to find a hotel. Each search I did brought up high priced accommodations with poor reviews. Finally on YELP I found the Joyner Budget Motel. I called and a warm male voice answered assuring me of the safe location of his motel. Once I arrived and checked in I felt like I had just checked in with family! The room was close to my car, the office and it was exceptionally clean! I know I will sleep good tonight and take care of the damage issues in the morning. What a relief!!

I accidentally left something behind in the room after we'd left, and they were so sweet about sending it back to me. I ended up going back to pick it up - but the care they took after we'd already vacated our room was special - not every hotel owner would do that. Bottom line: If you need a roof over your head, a bed, and a shower for the night in the area, this has you covered. Nothing fancy - but you'll love the folks in charge here! I likely will consider other locations on my next visit to this area. And I have to admit that the staff weren't quite as friendly in years past. But I know that in some places that fluctuates a lot based upon who is on that day. Also, they shortened the breakfast times, presumably because of difficulty in getting staff. For the price that you pay here, I like to get in a work out in the morning and get my breakfast in a more leisurely manner than usual. Closing up breakfast at 0900 seems a little early, especially for folks who are on vacation. There were several people arriving after 0900 this morning who were surprised to learn that the service was closing down. Thankfully the nice lady manning the breakfast bar was very understanding and got a few things for them from the back while she was cleaning up.

It was really bad, and we got up before the cock would crow and was very tired all day; with six hours of driving to do. All this for about $300 (with stupid high taxes) for one night. Stay far away unless you want some critters sleeping next to you. My sister was in the room two doors down from me and her daughter had bite marks too. I like modern, well-appointed rooms with beautiful lobbies and hotel amenities. None of the above here. In all fairness in Covington you don't have too many choices unless you can swing the cost at the Omni Homestead in Hot Springs for $300 a night plus parking and resort fees. Needless to say I couldn't so I was forced to stay between here and the Magnasun. Wrong choice but not even sure if there was a right one.
