I was so impressed with the evening that I booked a room with a friend to come for three nights/four days at the B&B. My expectations were exceeded by her hospitality and overall service. As a guest you stay in one of the wonderful bedrooms with exquisite decor and possibly one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. I even bought the same down mattress topper so I could have a taste of Hillcrest when I returned home! There is a seating area with complimentary soft beverages upstairs for guests to enjoy, two lounges downstairs, a wrap-around porch seating area, a luscious garden leading up to the pool lounge area, and two dining rooms. Martha takes into consideration your food allergies and even your favorite foods when preparing dinner. I was so delighted to come down and enjoy homemade Tex-Mex with traditional Mexican music playing in the background. Prior to dinner we enjoyed mixed drinks at the open bar and wine/beer pairings with our dinner. As part of your package, you receive a three course breakfast with coffee/tea service upstairs before your meal. The breakfast was absolutely decadent and is by far the best breakfasts that I've experienced on any of the six continents that I've traveled. The friend who joined me has already booked another stay with Hillcrest and I definitely intend on returning soon. I cannot recommend Hillcrest B & B highly enough - they exceeded my expectations in food, service, and accommodations - especially for the cost of a night's stay!

Surprising as they have a small restaurant so you'd think they have the facilities to provide a more acceptable version. There's just coffee (weak), tea (hot water ran out and no one came to replace), old fruit, tubs of cereal (way too sweet) cartons of orange juice, milk and yogurt and some packaged granola bars and bagels, much more basic than most chain motels. Location is great however, right in the middle of town and there is free parking in a lot behind the hotel.

My wife, dog (Macy), and I want to do yearly family photos and needed a photographer in the Northern Virginia area. Alina is THE BEST photographer we have ever worked with, not only was she extremely flexible with our schedule she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable during the shoot. I believe one of the key elements that differentiate a good photographer from a great photographer is their ability to make the shoot fun and you feel comfortable. All of the rooms have doors on both the parking lot and lakeside. There is a shuttered, lockable screen door to enjoy the fresh air. Overall, our room could have used some paint and repair, but we liked the old school vibe and views. There are two great gathering areas and a big pile of board games. A fire pit. A beautiful bar and great dining room. We had dinner and breakfast here. Dinner had delicious entrees that were well prepared. The Caesar salad was excellent. My steak was excellent. My husband got the trout. It was delicious. Our breakfast was delicious and the bartender made me one of the best Bloody Marys I have ever had. The servers and staff were friendly and on top of it. They have a new manager and he was participating on the shuttle to the mountain and he was looking for ways to improve visits. We would love to return and recommend.
