The service was great, a nice greeting when I checked in and the staff was friendly throughout the stay. Special shout out to Ginny at the front desk for her stellar service. The location is inviting, and my king bed & room with outside entry was spacious and clean. The room had all the Hampton amenities including a nice size TV, microwave, mini fridge, iron and full size ironing board, and a coffee maker. The bed was comfortable, and the room had a nice lounge chair. There was plenty of parking, and my room was in the back of the hotel (by the cabin) and the area was quiet and relaxing. The property has a lot of charm, especially the historic Cabin built in the mid-1700s, it catches the attention and is used as a special events space. The main house, Col Alto, is a beautiful Georgian-style brick home dating back to 1827. Both are rich in history and make the stay even more unique. I would absolutely stay here again and hear the historic rooms with bath tubs are the rooms to reserve. I was most pleased with the Kind bed & room.

I gave the management multiple opportunities to do the right thing. Do not trust this hotel with anything. We had a corner room in the 15th tier looking out the back with mountains in the distance and hotel parking lot below. Bed is firm and comfortable with crisp cotton sheets. Good size shower with hot and strong rain shower head. Good size room with vinyl tile flooring much better than carpeting. Only reason I gave it a 4 star is due to the free breakfast which is really not much better than no breakfast at all. Surprising as they have a small restaurant so you'd think they have the facilities to provide a more acceptable version. There's just coffee (weak), tea (hot water ran out and no one came to replace), old fruit, tubs of cereal (way too sweet) cartons of orange juice, milk and yogurt and some packaged granola bars and bagels, much more basic than most chain motels. Location is great however, right in the middle of town and there is free parking in a lot behind the hotel.

The quality of the room and house was fantastic; everything was spotless and well kept. The house had all the character, quirks, and charm of a place built over 100+ years ago, but all the amenities and features of a new construction. But the big differentiator was John. He was an absolutely incredible host, always with a smile on his face and a wealth of information about the area at his disposal. He helped us set up some great adventures, had wonderful stories of the history of the town and inn, and also cooked a fantastic breakfast each morning for us. The other guests at the inn were very sociable and we walked away having made a few new friends! I also can't believe how affordable the rooms were considering the great level of service and quality. As a guest, you have a dedicated parking spot which is nice as this inn is located on Main street and you can walk to many restaurants, bars, and shops. Our room was quite nice. The only draw back is that this place is right on Main street across from a few W&L frats...so on this Saturday night you could hear noise from the street into the room... but not really bad. I would like to go back here and eat dinner in the restaurant at some point. My only negative- the bar in the hotel has beer on draft. However, apparently, it was a wine draft previously and no adjustments were made on carbonation. The beer foamed so badly that it was flat by the time the glass was full. This was true on the two different beers we tried. We switched to wine.. which was fine. In my opinion, they need to stop selling that beer until that is resolved.
