So I wanted to get a second opinion before throwing in the towel. So I decided to take it to NRP because it was close to home. From the time I walked in the door the staff was very friendly. And I explained my situation to Shannon the owner and he was adamant that they would find the main problem to my brakes. Shannon took the time to check the whole system and turns out it was just the master cylinder. While doing this he kept me updated and was honest about what the problem could be. He seen a woman coming and decided to take advantage of me. I was driving home yesterday and noticed my engine light was back on after he says he fixed it 2 weeks ago and replaced 2 coils. I had to go to another mechanic and have that same coil replaced again. That mechanic called B & D and made them aware of what they had done. This situation was an additional $80.00 cost for me since I had to go to another mechanic. I then called Don and all he said was to bring back the coil. HAHAHA, I'm not that stupid. All he wanted me to do is bring back the coil that was bad so he could get his money back. He did nothing to offer any compensation for the money that I am out now. He tried to say he didn't charge me for the coil. I have a receipt that proves he did. He did nothing but lie from the get go.

I had been a Tire Discounter customer for 35 plus years. Wouldn't get my tires anywhere else…read more Eventually that expanded to include oil changes, wheels and batteries. Unfortunately, about 5 years ago it just became a series of problems. They didn't put an oil cap back on. Not the end of the world. A hassle perhaps, but things happen. A couple of days later they called and said they had my oil cap. How they knew it was mine I don't know, but it was missing. When I went returned they said I would get a free oil change on the next trip in and they would put it in my file. Six months later I go for an oil change and they have no record of any such thing. On another car they knocked off the sensor(s) when putting on new tires. They put on a new sensor but it was never correct. The ABS light, brake light, etc comes on intermittently and they said there is nothing they could do. With two cars and a truck it just seemed like there couldn't be any visit where things didn't go south. This was NOT at the new Ft Thomas location. I don't want to mention the store because I'm sure there very good people there and perhaps the ones that caused the most problems are gone. Since it happened over a several years I have to think it is a bit more cultural than just isolated incidents. I have two older identical cars that still run great. I am giving one to my granddaughter. I had purchased very nice wheels from TD several years ago and wanted to hang on to them. I called the wrong TD by accident and arranged to have the wheels swapped and buy one new set of tires. The guy was so friendly I thought this is great! Nothing like the grumpy guys I usually deal with. I went to the TD I've gone to for several years and it was the same old huffing and puffing. They acted like I was putting them out for wanting to switch wheels and buy new tires. I finally said "Nevermind" I will call the tire dealer I talked to earlier thinking it wasn't a TD store. Oddly enough it was the new TD in Ft Thomas, KY (by Jeff Wyler). I explained that I called the wrong store and if they could still change the wheels and sell me four tires. Marty, the manager, was the most friendly and knowledgeable person I've dealt with at a TD location. He gets customer service, went out of his way to make the whole experience first class. TD needs to put this guy in charge of training managers on customer service. Just being friendly goes a long way. Hopefully it would filter down from Manager to staff. Sure a good price for a product is wonderful thing, but nothing beats great customer service. Marty and his crew get it. Friendly. Take a genuine interest in the customer. It ain't rocket science but it is stellar. Marty and his staff have salvaged an ex-customer. I do think great customer service should be the norm and not the exception. We like to rant and rave about great customer service. I've already told several friends and neighbors about the new TD location and the great service. Marty and crew have, for me anyway, made customer service exceptional. I highly recommend the Tire Discounter in Ft Thomas.

I stopped by Steele's today around 3:00 pm after trying to replace my brakes myself. I was able to…read morereplace the fronts, but the rear brakes ended up giving me a problem getting the rotor off. I used several techniques to remove it, but was uneasy being too aggressive as it's my primary transportation. Once I described my issue, we discussed what might be keeping the rotor from coming off which I had already researched and satisfied I did everything I knew how to. To my surprise, they were able to get my 2020 Grand Cherokee in that afternoon as it was pretty busy. I left believing that it would be next day before it would be completed. I appreciated the conversation we had about possible issues with the E-Brake which is beyond just the brake replacement and possible additional cost. I didn't care at that point as I had enough messing with it! I received a call around 4:45 pm that same day my Jeep was ready to pickup. Turned out the rotor just took more force to knock it loose than I was willing to apply. Not only did they complete the repair same day, it was much less than expected.
