I've been getting builder gel nails by Helen since I moved to Santa Barbara and she crushes it every time. They never lift and literally last 5 weeks! My appointment time is always honored and I can even get one same day when needed. It's clear that all the nail techs in this place work so hard to do high quality nails.

Despite being a physically small salon, Creative Nails has great service, prices and skilled staff. I was recommended the salon by a customer I met at work, and after going myself a few times it's my go to place. I always get a poly-gel fill and it costs about 70-90 depending on my design

There's a reason why this place is called Creative Nails! If you're looking to get fancy and artsy with your nails, then this is the place to book your appointment. I did my research on yelp and decided to come here based on the wonderful reviews and pictures. I am so happy that I did! This place is small yet functional and inviting when you walk in. I was kindly greeted and quickly seated at my station which was nice. In my past experience, I have had to wait 10-15 minutes in other nail salons, even with an appointment! It could be that it was a weekday, but in any case I was happy to be taken care of right away. I chose dip powder on my natural nails with design. Helen was my nail technician, and she kindly helped me pick out the right color that I had in mind. They have a wide variety of colors here. The hard part was choosing. I came prepared and had a picture of my design, but I wanted my own spin on it. Helen had suggestions for me and we collaborated on what the best outcome would be. Well, she literally NAILED it and I couldn't be more happier with the outcome. She was speedy, yet efficient with the whole process of working her magic on my nails. I was surprised at how fast she managed to finish, and blown away by the details and beauty of the final design. Overall, I had a lovely experience at this nail salon and I look forward to coming back for my next appointment!

So happy I found this little shop. They go above and beyond with their customer service and every service I've ever received has been top notch. I've only gotten pedicures and basic manicures with nail painting until today- alone with a deluxe pedicure and matching polish I got a poly gel nail set done and love the result. Was originally thinking powder dip and maybe even acrylics but happy with the polygel. June does great attentive pedicures and Helen did a great job helping me pick the best nails for me because I was uneducated on the differences and was pleasantly surprised with the choice. I will definitely be coming back again for continued follow ups and recommend them as much as I can.

The price point, service, and results were all fantastic. Vicky did a great job and gave me exactly what I asked for in the picture I showed.

I booked an appointment because of all the great reviews I had read. It was a disappointment. I wanted a simple manicure. What I got was slightly more than a polish change. What made things worse is the tech cut my cuticle, causing it to bleed. She sprayed a little alcohol on it and continued to polish my nails. She spent no time shaping my nails or pushing back the cuticles. It was done in 20 minutes. The place was a bit cramped and cluttered. I won't be returning.

Creative nails offered nail redemption for me. After having a few very negative experiences at a nail salon in Goleta I was so delightful to have an amazing fill done here.

Vicky was incredible!! I showed her an idea of a design that I wanted and she did not disappoint!

Helen did an incredible job, she was extremely efficient and had the best attention to detail. 100% coming back, I LOVE my nails. The vibe was awesome and I have not had a better experience anywhere else.

Creative Nails is a hidden gem in Santa Barbara!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Creative Nails. The shop is small, clean, and friendly. The prices are great and the employees are highly skilled. They work hard to accommodate your schedule and to provide everyone with a relaxing experience. (The chairs are the best in town!) There are many returning customers and the employees are GREAT at remembering your preferences, if you have a specific go-to color or style. The owner Vicky is amazing! I have been her customer for many years and will continue to be for as long as I can. Vicky has fantastic design skills. She can follow a picture or do her own ideas. She has an eye for color and knows her products well. Vicky always knows what's popular with nail designs and loves to be creative. I trust her and always LOVE the end product. Vicki, Cynthia, & June are amazing. I used to go out of town because the artist as well as service was subpar in Santa Barbara but my friend Clara told me about this shop AND they're AMAZING. I saw Vickey today for a Dip Powder Manicure. I followed her to Creative Nails because she is the only manicurist I trust with my nails. She will treat your hands so gently and delicately. She makes sure that every ridge and bump is smoothed out and that nothing is crooked or spilling onto your cuticles. I'm such a perfectionist when it comes to my nails so I always leave other places and have to file or fix my nails on my own to be content but not with Vickey. I always leave feeling 100% satisfied! All of the other manicurist do beautiful work as well. Also it helps if you make an appointment beforehand! read more

So this us my updated review, about 10 days after my nails were done. I am not upset with the nail techs or the salon because I still think they did great work on my daughters nails. 2 of my nails broke in half pulling on my real nail and tearing it. The other nails started to break so I had to cut them down before they tore off like the others. I get my nails done monthly and I've never had this happen, I still think the ladies at this salon are very talented but I also know this should not have happened and now I can't do my nails again until these two torn fingernails heal which sucks majorly when you are used to doing them monthly. It's painful and a huge eyesore. I like the salon a lot, just don't know if I would risk going back after this happened and thats unfortunate. read more

Well I call called to make an appointment. I was told to come on in . I asked for a nail fill and pedicure. When I got there . I only was scheduled for a pedicure. The lady that helped me. Had a cough and raspy voice. I asked if she was sick.??she said no. My pedicure was 20 minutes.! She did not say a word. Very uncomfortable. As i sat there another worker went to the back. She to was coughing . The lady kept speaking in their language. I feel if they were full. Don't make appointments and treat people BAD!!! She should not advertise" Walk Ins Welcomed!" This is not a welcoming place.!!! read more

This place is AWESOME ! Best place in town. I Wouldn't go anywhere else, everywhere in town has messed my nails up a handful of times. I've been going to another spot in the San Roque plaza, for the 2 years or so I've lived here but I'm so glad I gave this place a try- they're it! They are like $8 more or something but they really take their time, until it's perfect and up to their high standards, no stressful upsale (sea salt scrub is included, for example), and really sweet- rubbing extra cream on my heels while my toes dried etc. This was my first pedicure of the pandemic and I was nervous but it seems as covid-safe as a nail salon can be at this time. The place is small and decently ventilated- they had the windows and doors open, 6 people total in the place (3 techs, 3 customers), plexiglass between, masks, etc. Can't wait to go back. read more

I called super last minute and they were able to fit me in for a pedicure and callus treatment. Everyone was so great, helpful and the woman doing my pedicure was extra careful, attentive and professional. This place has been around a long time I think so that means it's not the fanciest but it's reliable. Prices are super reasonable. I definitely recommend. read more

It has been over a year since I have visited a nail salon. Given the fact that I have a baby at home it is safe to say that I felt 100% comfortable going to get an acrylic manicure and gel pedicure. My favorite place I've gotten my nails done so far in Santa Barbara. The staff is always friendly to me and my nails always look great by the end. I also enjoy the music they play. I've gotten my nails done 3 times here and the prices and results are great. My nails also last a lot longer here I've noticed, up to 3-4 weeks. Vicky is super talented and is able to execute any nail design you show her. Her attention to detail is amazing! An acrylic full set with designs on each nail is surprisingly affordable so this nail salon is a great place to go to, especially in Santa Barbara. She is also extremely accommodating and was willing to fit me in the day that I called to fix a nail that I had accidentally broken, despite how busy she was. A little frustrated with how my apt went. First I was there for 2 and a half hours. 3 people came in after me and left before me.The first half hour of it being spent with my hands in a bowl of burning hot acetone that stung my eyes it was so strong. The girl didn't know you had to take the acrylic off a little at the end of them being soaked and was just waiting for them to fall off by theirselves. She did a pedicure while my hands were soaking too and I had to Get her attention to get her back working on my hands. The nails it self were not too good either. I had to tell her to go back and shape ones or cut ones that were obviously longer then the others. At the end another girl had to come over and file each one again and fix up her work. I told the girl I wanted matte top coat with my color. She forgot I said matte and put a shiny gel coat on. I asked if you had to wipe it or something to see matte and she said she forgot and just layered it on top. My nails were chipping a week later with shiny parts showing through. read more

The technician immediately offered to fix it and at the end of that repair she would not let me touch my own wallet and took my debit card from me to put it back in my wallet and even took my phone for a moment. She clearly did not want me rubbing my polish against anything which makes sense but I don't need help with that and it felt intrusive. I spent twice as long, making sure that one nail was dried after repair, and when I got back to the car and reached in my pocket to get out my keys, that nail got smudged off again. This only happened on the one nail, which is very strange. I've had many manicures and have never encountered this. I also asked for a dark purple color with no sparkle, and they kept bringing me light blues with sparkle, and trying to convince me to change my mind about the color that I wanted (which I don't understand their reasoning for this at all, and why it matters to them) and would not let me simply walk over to the polish wall to pick my own color. When my nail technician finally brought over a couple of dark purples, a secondary nail technician came over & started to have a conversation about the two polishes and whether they looked similar or not. This was all after I had very obviously quickly chosen a color. During the appointment, that second nail technician kept coming over and staring at my hands which was uncomfortable. Finally, when choosing the tip amount during payment, the receptionist brought the card reader over (rather than waiting for me to walk to the register) and put the screen directly in front of the technician and myself, and the technician was staring at the screen, watching what my tip selection was.

At this point, Chi is currently the only person I trust with my brows. She does such a good job! She has good taste and is very helpful with color selection--so if you're not sure which shade to go for, ask for her advice. The phone has always been answered when I've called, and oftentimes they are able to get me in for last-minute, same-day bookings. Pricing is very reasonable for Santa Barbara. Thank you, Lux!

I went here with a friend because I heard that they did "gel nails" and I was very excited to try them out! I was told by my manicurist that they lasted 2 weeks... mine lasted one week before they started chipping. Definitely not worth the extra money! I think I paid $75 (including tip) altogether, for a manicure that lasted a week. My friend's experience was even worse... her nails dried really matte instead of shiny, and they were sticky and kept attracting debris and dust. We went back the next day and they were very nice and redid her nails, so I'll give them credit for that. Very friendly people, but they just seem very inexperienced and amateur. read more

The have a bad rep because of the old owners the new owner Vicki is amazing. I always get my nails done with Vicky she can do ANYTHING my crazy mind comes up with. All of the staff is super nice friendly and professional they make sure you are happy 100% of the time. I started getting pedicures recently and they take out my ingrown nails with out hesitation and most importantly they don't make me bleed or hurt. When I don't know what I want they help me decide. I can not say any nicer things. I recommend calling ahead and making an appointment they take their time with everything to ensure you are pleased! 20 stars read more
