I LOVE fun nails and It can be tricky and expensive to find someone, but and much and I don't want to share her, Emily st SB Nail Bar is the full package. I have walked by it a million times and over the years a variety of people have mentioned it. I needed my acrylics done and a pedicure and it did not disappoint. Emily did my fingers and is amazing, she's creative and fun and did an incredible job. Bobby, equally awesome did my gel pedicure- French tip toes. Both are amazing and I'm under the impression, pretty much everyone does a great job. I encountered lots of issues, but the biggest of which was at the end of the appointment when I put my hand in my pocket to get my wallet, one of the nails, halfway completely smudged off, even with a topcoat and lots of time to dry. The technician immediately offered to fix it and at the end of that repair she would not let me touch my own wallet and took my debit card from me to put it back in my wallet and even took my phone for a moment. She clearly did not want me rubbing my polish against anything which makes sense but I don't need help with that and it felt intrusive. I spent twice as long, making sure that one nail was dried after repair, and when I got back to the car and reached in my pocket to get out my keys, that nail got smudged off again. This only happened on the one nail, which is very strange. I've had many manicures and have never encountered this. I also asked for a dark purple color with no sparkle, and they kept bringing me light blues with sparkle, and trying to convince me to change my mind about the color that I wanted (which I don't understand their reasoning for this at all, and why it matters to them) and would not let me simply walk over to the polish wall to pick my own color. When my nail technician finally brought over a couple of dark purples, a secondary nail technician came over & started to have a conversation about the two polishes and whether they looked similar or not. This was all after I had very obviously quickly chosen a color. During the appointment, that second nail technician kept coming over and staring at my hands which was uncomfortable. Finally, when choosing the tip amount during payment, the receptionist brought the card reader over (rather than waiting for me to walk to the register) and put the screen directly in front of the technician and myself, and the technician was staring at the screen, watching what my tip selection was. read more

I can't recommend SB Nail Bar enough! Emily did my acrylic fill with custom nail art, and I was blown away by the results. She has an incredible eye for detail and is so talented artistically. I came in with an idea, and she turned it into something even more beautiful than I imagined. She was meticulous, took her time, and made sure every nail was perfect. Terrible nail salon. I never get my nails done but had to for a wedding. First the service took forever and you can see how bad the cuticles are. Then it chipped after 2 days. Mind you I work in an office, nothing I'm doing should constitute this already chipping. I would normally not care and I hate "complaining" but like I said I'm in a wedding and I never ever spend money on my nails unless I have to. I went in and asked if they would fix it since I got it done there (GEL MANICURE) 2 days prior. They said no they are too busy. To fill in a tiny chip?? I love coming to SB nail bar. First things first, it is super conveniently located near where I work on State Street. Second, they always do a great job. I don't think I have ever come out unhappy with any of my nails. I go once or twice a month, sometimes more, as I can be pretty hard on my nails. They are always happy to fix my nails, too when I break them. It is so wonderful how kind they are to sneak me in at random times. This week, Emily did my nails and they look so cool! I wasn't gonna say anything about this because everyone was really nice but I really don't recommend this place. I went in asking for DIP and they told me they could do it as I called ahead. I went in and the lady starts putting a whole plastic nail on my finger and then just paints it! It was 370 + tip for 3 manicure and 3 pedicures I went w my mom and cousin. I'm the only one who added a fake nail too. The price isn't the problem but it's overpriced for just PAINTING nails... no acrylic and no dip!!!! Even though I ASKED for dip. The lady kept saying "you'll like you'll like" and sorry but I didn't like. I wanted what I asked for but I think there was too much of a language barrier?? Idk what other reason they would agree to do a service and straight up do a different one. read more

I've been coming here for a couple months and I'm honestly done. The customer service is terrible. When I got long stiletto nails, multiple workers stood around me making comments like "that's really long, how do you do anything?" while staring and laughing. It felt judgmental and unprofessional. The pricing makes zero sense. I got the exact same full set as before (not a fill, no removal either time), paid $85 last time and suddenly it's $100 now. When I questioned it, I was told I was wrong and that I "got a fill last time," which is not true. Instead of explaining, they were rude and dismissive. Also, the workers constantly talk among themselves the entire time, which just adds to the uncomfortable atmosphere when you're already being judged. And the quality was worse too -- glue left all over the nails and they look messy compared to before. Overall, overpriced, unprofessional, and uncomfortable. Would not recommend. read more

We have been coming here for years and never once have I thought to make a yelp. (I should have) but I love my girls Ivy and My. However I never had a more pleasant visit while waiting for my daughter than today. Chole is the vibrant receptionist is a true delight to have in here. I always come here to get my toes and nails done, and have an amazing experience every single time and leave very satisfied. I get Gel-X nails and they last long, they never lift. I came in looking to have my old gelx soaked off and a new set put on. She started soaking and dremeling my nails down, but eventually just ripped off the old gel. It hurt a little and wound up super damaging my natural nail. The shop was also not the cleanest, and they do not clean their tools. My new set did come out looking great, but at the expense of my natural nail. Overall everyone was very nice and service was fast, but I'll probably only go back if I absolutely have to. read more

Every time I make an appointment and arrive on time or even early, minimum I've waited 25 min, and more than once have had to wait over an hour to be seen. (And also had a similar experience of others walking in and being helped first.)
