I'd like to do my small part in turning around this nail salon's reputation as it's a wonderful place to get a mani/pedi. I am a total stress biter and I came into the salon with HORRIBLE nails. I'm usually pretty embarrassed when my nails look this bad, but Kim was very nice and didn't scold me or make fun of me. Yes, this has happened to me at numerous other salons. Aside from the fact that this nail salon is across the street from my office, it's clean, priced very reasonably well, and has a great assortment of both gel and regular colors. I hadn't been here in over a year. I used to go all the time because of the coupons, and I really didn't hate it as much as others, but it was getting worse. The woman who did my nails for a long time left and I just didn't have a reason to go back. Shangri La has recently been sold, so I thought I would go back to Creative Nails as I saw the sign for 20% off all services with new management. I agree with the other reviewers. A huge improvement. They are slowly painting and getting things cleaned up. I had a pedicure and a gel French manicure and it was only $48 with the discount. They did a great job and I will go back for sure. This salon was so nicely remodeled and everyone working there was extremely friendly. I did not have an appointment and they fit me in as a walk in. Kim did my mani/pedi and she was so nice and personable. Decent prices and a friendly staff will definitely have me going here for my regular appointments. read more

This place is super dirty!!!! They re-use all nail files as well as pass the nail clippers on to the next customer without any disinfecting them. The man that did my nails didn't even remove all my old polish off my finger nails therefore it showed through my gels. Grrrr. All he said was sorry and no discount. Amazing ~ I was able to get an appointment same day - on Saturday mind you. Kim was very polite & I had explained that I had not had a pedicure in quite a while, due to being very sensitive. My pedi looks great and all for $20! However...the Spa Chair I sat in was broken! The chair was tilted backward and I felt like an OG low rider. The massage balls were frozen in a position that was digging into my back. The manicurist was very sweet an concerned for my comfort. She resolved this problem by giving me a nice plush pillow to put behind my back. Whoo, I was finally able to relax and enjoy. read more

The women working in the store were wonderful and nice, but gave other people manicures and pedicures while making me wait halfway through my appointment. $20/pedi, $30/gel manicure. I came to this place from a coupon ad... They have remodeled a little bit and they have fantastic massage chairs... I don't feel like it's much less clean than any others I've been to. It was super quiet and relaxing. I had a good experience, however, the pedicure job itself wasn't very good. I asked for a flower and it was not good... I had her remove it and reprint my toes. I've been a customer here since 2008. I tried a couple of other places in Petaluma and either were too expensive or just did shitty jobs. This place is always ready for you when you walk in, sometimes they are a little fast while doing your nails or a little rough but over all the out come is great!! I even recently stopped at a salon in Marin and spent a little more money but decided to come back to Creative Nails. They remember me and have always taken care of me. They do great pedicures, manicures (especially the new Shellac) & waxing. Like this place a lot! I don't think they are dirty like other people have said. If I could give negative billion stars I definately would. We walked in and made appointments with them. When my family and I walked in to the place we had to wait half an hour just to get seated in a chair because they had taken in so many walk in before hand and they only have three chairs. Then they finally started my services at 6:45 when we had a 6 pm appointment. They did my nails in less than 10 minutes and were really rough and I am now sore. I am used to them exfoliating then massaging lotion into your legs after and she never did that. I had fresh cuts on my leg and the lady roughly exfoliated my leg (ummm painfulllll) . The lady got mad when I requested a specific desgin and color for my toenails. They never said a word to my step dad who was still waiting to even get a seat at 7:00 pm and my mom was not even started by this time. So basically this place is a peice of crap. It does not look very sanitary or clean. They do not respect you and are rude. We all just walked out when my pedicure was done. My parents never got their manicures and pedicures done because we walked out of there so late. I would recomend going somewhere else cause this is honestly the worst place i have ever gone. read more

This place is the worst DO NOT go here they are dirty inside, very Disrespectful and when you go back and show them after 3 days your Acrylic are chipped they don't stand behind their work. The say "oh you need a refill". The man who did my nails finally redid only the ones that were chipped there were 3 he fixed them then didn't match the polish to the existing so my nails were all jacked up. I finally stopped the payment on my card because they were so rude and disrespectful That I would never go there again. In fact they should be closed down for being so filthy. This salon was full when I walked in so I waited 5 minutes for them to give me a full set. The woman who did my nails was very forceful and didn't say one word to me the entire time. She was rough with my nails an pushy with my hands. The reason I am giving 2 stars is they were quick and my nails honestly look great. Unfortunately the cons out weigh the pros. Pros: fast, seemed cheap, got me in on a walk in, nails look good Cons: dirty building, did not give me the coupon price and pretended to not understand me when I asked about it, extremely rough with the drill, file, etc.. Didn't ask how I liked my nails, very unfriendly The worst part... My nails hurt so bad!! They are pounding and burning and keeping me up from sleeping, it's been 6 hours since I got them done, if the pains not gone by morning I will go back in. That had to be the worst pedicure EVER! I feel like I need my heels redone. The girl constantly watched TV while doing my feet. Cut my upper heel with the exfoliating tool which looked like a sander! I almost didn't try this salon because of the current overall rating, so I felt compelled to write this review to share my positive experience. Thankfully I looked a little closer and saw that most of the Yelp ratings from the last several months were positive, so I gave this salon a shot as something has clearly changed. I'm glad I did. I'm new to Petaluma and was looking for a nail salon for my monthly pedicures. I think Creative Nails will be that place for me. The place looks very new and it's clean, uncluttered, and airy; the pedicure chairs are comfortable; each staff member was friendly; the price was right ($24 for a basic, yet unrushed, pedicure), and most importantly I received an excellent pedicure. This is the first shop that I have had two nails out of ten damaged in less than a month. They put a thin layer over the nail which just doesn't hold up. I had to get multiple corrections after broken nails between 1.5 week-3 weeks. read more

i get my glitter tips done here, the woman doesn't speak very good english but she is trying to learn it as a second language (good for her) my nails have never been more beautiful, she does an amazing job and i get two different colors of glitter. you can't beat the price. maybe it's not the fanciest place in town but you get a beautiful set of nails. read more

I haven't been to this salon in quite a few years and seeing that it was a Sunday and most nail salons in the area were closed I decided to give it a shot. I called 20 minutes before arriving and they told me that I would be able to get in right away, which wasn't the case. I had to sit around and wait for approximately 30 minutes after arriving which I was ok with because I know they take walk ins and I'm aware that unexpected costumers may have arrived shortly before I did. Once I sat down the lady seemed to be friendly until she started trimming down my nails. I politely told her that my thumb nail was too short and asked her if she could please fix it, and without hesitation she told me "no, that she would NOT fix it". I was slightly surprised with her response so I asked her again, "you won't fix this?" and she responded with "I'll think about it". The manager then came over to diffuse the situation and had me sit with someone else who was willing to fix the awful job that the other lady was not going to do. I was very close to getting up and walking out, and I made sure to speak with the manager as I was leaving to express my concerns about her disrespectful employee. I made it clear that I will not be returning, and I advise you not go there as well. If it's a Sunday and you're in desperate need of getting your nails done either find somewhere else or wait until Monday! read more

Two of the 4 women there were kind, but I didn't get one of those. The woman I had filled the water for me to soak my feet and told me to put my feet in. She used water so hot it burned my feet. When I quickly pulled my feet out, some water spilled on the floor, and she yelled at me. Should have left then. While doing my pedicure, she was giving the evil eye to her coworker sitting next to her chatting. When I smiled at what that woman was saying, she gave me the same dirty look. She cut my toenail so short on one side, she had to pull the nail off, which was bleeding the next day. The nail polish chipped a day later. For some crazy reason I gave her an $8 tip on a $20 pedicure, which I might do at my regular place if I'm feeling good. She came over to me while my nails were drying to thank me with a smile. I should have told her that was the last time she'd see me. Terrible place. Avoid it. read more
