I'd written my original review a few years ago. I've been going to Creative Nails for a long time now! They are still doing an amazing job. They take their time and do not rush in order to get another person in the door. There is extreme integrity in their work. Kim provides such a thorough, relaxing pedicure. And Cody is what I refer to as an architect at "building" nails. I always make an appointment, bring cash, and they help me choose my color when I can't decide. I'm extremely loyal to a place once I'm connected to it. I feel like a member of the family when I come here, and wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Easily the best Gel manicure I've had in a VERY long time (and yes, I'm including life before COVID!). I've lived in Petaluma for almost 2 years but somehow only found this place today. I felt very safe, everything was clean, not too many people inside, and overall just a great experience. The quality of the actual manicure was perfection. Good job on nails. Raised their prices quite high, so I would hope so! Best to make an appointment, but don't be late!! She will replace your spot for a walk-in, even if you are a regular customer who is just a few minutes late. Obviously, if they are running late, you wait patiently, but don't expect the same courtesy. Sort of disappointing customer service, but they do a good job on the nails. Lots of other nail salons out there so my business will go elsewhere... but they seem to have plenty of back up options anyways lined up. read more

I've been meaning to get a pedi for the longest time! Finally, I decided to go on my lunch break to get things done! I called Creative Nails to see if I'd be able to "walk in" but ended up making an appointment for that afternoon (Monday at 12:30). The woman on the phone was very sweet. It was a very warm day, but the salon was comfortable, not too cold, but cool just right! The foot bath was hot to my liking, and he woman working on my tootsies, Nancy, was very pleasant. There were two other women just finishing up, so the place wasn't crowded. The ambiance was inviting and relaxing! I was even offered a tiny bottle of water! I really enjoyed the sugar scrub and lotion massage on my legs. Toes came out beautifully! Great lunch break! I'll definitely be back! Thank you! read more

This has been my mani/pedi place for many years. It is well-run, very clean, great technicians and wonderful massage chairs! They use all the sanitation protocols and include a nice sugar scrub and massage with their mani/pedis. Reasonable pricing, lots of creative options, and such nice people. read more

My technician, Lisa, who has been doing my pedicures for seven years, recently left the salon she has worked at all that time to come to Creative Nails. She does a fantastic job and the salon is clean, bright and has the comfy massage chairs that I love. I can't recommend Lisa highly enough and am very happy with her new location! Great leg massage too! ( I noticed that the old reviews are very negative-these were under a former owner whose standards were not high. Hidden gem! 25$ fills and "Cody" gave me an awesome nail fill. He gave me the perfect shape for my hands as i came in with bulky coffin shape, he used every tool imaginable and took his time but was efficient and it didn't take more than an hr. I will be back every 2 weeks to see him for a fill from now on. read more

Out of all the nail salons I've been to, they consistently give the best French Tip nail design gel manicure & spa pedicure. Finger nails' gel polish can last up to 4 weeks. Making an appointment is easy and guarantees service. I take advantage of using the massage chair while getting a spa pedicure. Professional service and very friendly. I had gotten my acrylic nails there and they did a good job but when I went back yesterday to have them removed they seemed annoyed. As I sat down the lady did not soak them as I had heard was the way they remove those types of nails. She clipped and peeled them off dry. This was painful. Then she clipped one too low and my nail started to bleed, then she tried to file the bleeding nail...OUCH!!! Then she grabbed some rubbing alcohol and soaked it....OWWWW! It's good she sanitized it but the whole experience was awful! I'm never getting acrylics again! Then she painted over my ripped nails as I ask so they didn't look too terrible. She did them so fast and when they dried there were little bubbles in each nail... I was in and out in 15 minutes! read more

It really was gross inside with, as others mentioned, nail clippings all over the floor. The ladies were very nice though and they did a really nice job on my pedicure - quick too. I usually don't leave yelp reviews so for me to leave this review says a lot. Nail tech ripped my gel polish off and refused to show me a swatch of the 2 colors I was in between about. Someone that seemed like the owner walked by and said " hurry up and pick a color because we are busy" ( mind you I have an appointment). I pick a random color that I was not very fond of to only realize that it was a completely different color than it showed on the display. After mentioning that the only response I got was "colors change, sun hit color". I had to file my own nails because they were super crooked and as I'm walking out no one said thank you, I pretty much got glared at the whole way out. Maybe don't be rude to the people that keep your business going. read more

Went back to Creative Nails on Friday only to find out that it is FINALLY under NEW management. The new owners actually CLEAN the place AND use CLEAN equipment while loving the business and caring about their customers. Got some waxing done and French acrylic new full set done. What an amazing and HUGE difference. Last time I was there, I would just tap my nail and it would just break. So, go ahead and take a chance. They are still cleaning up the mess that they bought, but at least they ARE cleaning and LOVE what they do and are GOOD at what they do. This place is awful! The staff is sweet. But it's dirty and all of there equipment is old! They have a total of maybe 15 gel colors. I asked for a gel french manicure and my end result was so sloppy. I probably could have done a better job. The white tips are not even and very streaky. I will be shocked if it last 2 weeks worst $40 I ever spent!!! read more

This was my second time at this salon the first time I wasn't that please because the lady kept biting me with the file but I decided to give it another chance. Well I regret doing it, my nails are uneven, some are chunky some are thin, the man got polish all over me and I asked him to take it off but he didn't. They are streaky and there is a spot that doesn't even have top coat on it. I was also burnt today but even more then the last time and at times he had the mechanical nail file going on my skin. I've been to a few reincarnations of nail salons at this location over the years (remember the vibrating and massager???) It has always been inconstant in quality, however I have had two excellent gel manicures here over the past month. Both Nancy and Kim were great, and each lasted 3 weeks with no chipping or peeling. This place is HORRIBLE!!!! It's not clean at all, the staff isn't friendly and spent most of their time watching the chinesse station that was on TV. I am new to Petaluma and looking for a good place to get my nails done. They had a coupon in the mail so I thought I would give them a shot. I almost left the place when I walked in. Thinking back I probably should've. Nail clippings in the floor are gross. They could clean up once in a while. The saving grace was the spa chairs looked brand new and they were comfy. Amazingly this is one of the better nail jobs I have had done in a hurry up and get them done kinda place. I don't think I can return unless they clean up some. read more

Website says walk-ins are welcome. I came in twice and was told they were full. I came in today. They only had one person getting their nails done and said they were full and unable to do my nails. She had worked at the old salon I liked and I got lucky to find her again. She is the best with acrylic and the only one I trust to do mine. I come to her from Novato because she is the best! The woman who did my nails for a long time left and I just didn't have a reason to go back. Shangri La has recently been sold, so I thought I would go back to Creative Nails as I saw the sign for 20% off all services with new management. I agree with the other reviewers. A huge improvement. They are slowly painting and getting things cleaned up. I had a pedicure and a gel French manicure and it was only $48 with the discount. They did a great job and I will go back for sure.
