This salon is usually great, however last week I had an awful experience. I got a dip manicure, and it took over 90 minutes. Also , within 3 days they have all started to peel, which I have never had happen with a dip I got from somewhere else. It seems the gel topcoat that she put on (which is different based on salons) is all peeling off. She did not properly shape the dip, so there is areas where it is connected to my skin and going to be a big gap/catch on things when it grows out. Also, this was more expensive than the other places I usually go. Very disappointed, usually my nails can last 3-4 weeks but this clearly wont. read more

normally this is my go-to place. however, today, was a very odd and uncomfortable experience and will not be returning. the pedicure was fine. manicure was fine. when it came time to massaging my neck and shoulders, i started to notice a smell of menthol. The woman was rubbing globs of vicks vapor rub all over my neck, bottom of my hair line, and back. it was disgusting. i asked her to please stop when i noticed and she was so confused as to why. the smell is now all over my clothes and in my hair. it was $105 disappointing/poor experience read more

It was horrific! I was accused of not paying the service ! I paid my service fee and tip to my pedicure person and after my nails dried went out to my car where I was accosted by two people from the shop saying U did not pay! It was so uncomfortable! They accused me of not paying. I went into the spa and at least 20 people were all looking at me like I did not pay. Finally the person at the desk asked the person doing my pedicure to empty her pockets and lo and behold she had 5o dollars 40 for the service and 10 for the tip. Even with that I got a flimsy apology. I felt horrible! I never skipped out on paying a service fee and tip in my life! All they said was sorry and I would get a 50 % off next time. It was horrific and they just never seemed to understand how awful it was for people coming out to my car accusing me of not paying! I was told I would get half off my next service. Went there for a gel manicure with my daughter and they talked us into dipping powder instead. Extremely disappointed in how my nails came out. The color is nothing like what I picked. Went in with a friend recently (we both had appts. for 5:30 pm). I was told to pick color and then she motions for me to go sit in chair (no greeting really). Seemed disgusted with me the moment I sat down, extremely rude, seemed pissed that I was taking to long to remove my shoes and try to get myself up into the chair. I asked politely for warmer water in tub (since it was 20 degrees outside) she yells at me "it will get warmer!" Yikes. My friend was told to sit down, where she sat for nearly 20 minutes. Two other people walk in at this time and say they have appts. and they are sorry they are late. They are immediately taken to start their manicures. My friend stands up and says "I'm leaving". They chase her out the door, trying to get her to come back. She leaves. Meanwhile the woman is still being extremely rude and unfriendly towards me, shooting me nasty looks. Recent transplant back to the south shore and needed a new nail salon for my regular dip gel service. after some research i chose creative nails and spa. the space is very nice and it was quite busy for a midday but they accommodated me right away. the staff was friendly and my pedicure was excellent. my manicure was 55$ for an ombré dip. i typically get this once a month at my old salon. My tech was friendly and personable, but from the beginning i saw we had issues. the uniformity of the ombré was poor, and i felt she did too few coats. she also did not buff down the cuticle end of the polish, an extra which helps as it grows out. my cuticles themselves were a bit mangled too. the end result was all but one of my nails looking maroonish black, very difficult to even notice the ombré effect that cost extra, and did not come close to matching my bright red toes. one nail looked the way i expected, and when i commented she was inclined to make that nail look more like the others (of course) not fix the other 9 to look how i wanted. but the worst was 8 days later, it chipped! This polish usually lasts until my nails grow out, a month, and i wasn't doing anything overly taxing on them. so disappointed. they did say they would fix any issues but it's out of my way and my busy schedule to get it fixed so i guess i will deal with it until i can try another place out in a month. So bummed out, the staff was nice as was the space and i was hoping i found my new nail salon, but not if this is what i can expect. would love suggestions for local places that take the time to do this service properly! read more

Would not recommend this nail salon due to the customer service. This was my first and unknowingly my last time at this salon. I had a great experience and was extremely happy with my results until the next morning I woke up to my nails chipping. Within 2 days my long lasting nail polish was peeling off and I had an event to attend. I do not normally have the time to get my nails done and ended up calling 3 days later explaining the state of my nails. The person on the phone was awesome and stated there would be no problem fixing my nails and to make an appointment. I went to my appointment and was charged more than half the normal price of the long lasting polish, the women redoing my nails stated it looked like I needed another manicure and more than half my nail polish was fully falling off in a 3 day time frame (4 days before I could get back there). They did a really nice job in setting this place up. This salon is clean and spacious, and you are greeted with complimentary bottled water as soon as you walk in. They have a vast selection of top qualify polishes, and their menu of services is reasonably priced and complete. I like how the pedicure chairs are not packed like sardines. They did a good job on my nails, but are very poorly managed. I made an appointment at the Grove Street location and had a coupon they emailed me. When I arrived for my appointment, they said they were very busy. I explained that I had an appointment. They suggested I go to their other location on Washington Street. When I arrived there, they wouldn't take the coupon - they said it was only valid at the other location. I still waited for my manicure, then waited again for my pedicure. The woman sitting opposite me had to leave before her pedicure started because they took so long. All in all, it took nearly two hours for a mani pedi. Oh, and it was overpriced. This place is very clean and relaxing and the people are very nice and welcoming. I called one day after getting acrylics at a different salon and they said come on in and we can fix the job. They did such a good job and I went back many times to get them filled. However, I was not very satisfied with my most recent visit. I went to get my original acrylics removed and new ones put on. To start, the girl PULLED them all off! My nails still hurt 2 hours later. She then put the new ones on and after an hour and a half, they are pretty bad. She was being a perfectionist but they still were bad. They are thick and at my cuticles, they just end. They look very fake and not realistic at all. When I went back in to tell them they offered me aloe which helped but I could clearly see where my eyebrow was burnt and the women kept denying that it was burnt!! I dropped 4 teenagers off for 2:15 manicure appointments. Only one was taken on time, a 2nd shortly after. The 3rd waited over an hour. The 4th was not taken until almost 4:00. They took several other customers whose appointments were much later than their 2:15 time, one appeared to be a walk-in. Nothing was communicated to the girls about the wait. It seemed as though they took advantage of them because they were young and did not speak up. I find that completely unacceptable. When I arrived and expressed my disappointment I got a dismissive apology, saying they were busy and understaffed. Perhaps, don't book the appointments if you cannot accommodate them or communicate the issue to your patrons so they can make a decision about whether they will wait or travel to one of the other dozen or so nail salons within a few miles. Good customer service would have been to discount the patron who waited almost 2 hours for a manicure. They refused. I will not be back, nor will my daughters. read more

I want to give them 2 stars because they fit me in right as I came in & I didn't have to wait-- I appreciated that. My manicure however was not enjoyable. I couldn't relax whatsoever. I felt like I constantly was trying to direct the nail tech to shape my nails like the photo and she never got there. I was cut in multiple places and bleeding in 4 places when I left. One of which was from a normal file being used to roughly on my pinky. My nails don't look like my photo and my cuticles weren't even cut back. I went to Creative Nails Lounge in NORWELL in a pinch this morning for the first time as my normal nail salon didn't have any available appointments and I have an event this weekend. I had high hopes for the place based on their reviews but this was far from what I experienced/how I was treated and I'd like to prevent this from happening to anyone in the future since CNL simply does not care about their clients. I had scheduled an appointment the day prior for a full set and pedicure. Ben was my tech and did both my nails as well as my toes. I'd like to start and say he was very nice and I do not believe this experience reflects who he is as a human being. He offered me the deluxe pedicure but I chose the regular $35 pedicure and asked multiple times that he avoid using lotion as I was getting a spray tan next. I later found out he decided to do the deluxe pedicure anyways (still unclear whether or not this was an accident) as well as put on lotion, the pedicure was pretty uncomfortable the entire time as he ripped out skin as well as my cuticles. Fast forward to the full set I asked for ombré, I've had nails like this done multiple times in the past and every time they've used the acrylic pearls to create the ombré (I apologize if this is not the correct terminology) Ben seemed flustered by my request almost to me like he wasn't sure how to do ombré and proceeded to use dipping powder instead- he never said a word about this the entire time but I had showed him my reference picture and told him what I wanted. Also the entire time he used the drummel he nicked the skin above my nails (picture included) which was very painful and caused me to tense up, it finally got to the point where he nicked a finger enough for me to jump and burst into tears (the client next to me continued to watch in concern as I cried) Ben tried to comfort me and then told me to stay still as he continued to nick my fingers with the drummel. After they were finished I was told my total was $130 which is far more than I should've paid for what I had asked for. I was very upset in the moment and paid anyways. When I went to my spray tan appointment I told the owner what happened as I was still pretty upset and she was very concerned with what happened to me, what my skin looked like, how much I paid, and said she's heard of them doing this to someone else before. I decided to call the owner of Creative Nails who told me "Ben is very nice and this is unheard of" but she would call the Norwell location and find out what happened and call back. She never called back and I had to call her, she confirmed that Ben was at fault for not only the injury but not being clear about the services he was providing as well as added pricing and that she could see in my appointment I had asked for a full set and pedicure. As far as using the dip instead of acrylic she told me it was because "dip looks nicer" even though I didn't ask for it, it's more expensive, and Ben said nothing about it. I'm sure it does look nice but again, I didn't ask for it. I was very nice throughout the conversation and simply just wanted a refund and maybe an apology as you would think a business would take pride in their services and be willing to fix their mistakes when they happen. Instead the owner refuses to call me back or handle the situation. I did not want to bring this to social media but they've left me no choice. Creative nail salon has created such a negative experience for me that I think going forward I will have a very hard time going to any salon. I wanted to love this place and give them an opportunity to correct their mistakes but it's very clear they do not care about their customers and it's very sad. I haven't been to this exact location but I did however, go to the one right across from the Hingham Shipyard (Stop & Shop Plaza) and I am AMAZED with the beautiful gel manicure I received. My technician was Jackson, who I absolutely LOVED! He is extremely talented, extremely clean, friendly and outgoing, and he even gave me a tour around the salon, which ended with him showing me the gorgeous V.I.P. Room for small parties. I came here for a manicure after seeing all the positive reviews, unfortunately my experience was less than stellar... the lady who did my nails had such an attitude, she threw her tools around on the table like she was pissed at the world, I felt extremely uncomfortable sitting in front of her. She also put two THICK coats of polish on my nails, I sat under the dryer for 25 mins and still wasn't dry when I left (I nicked 2 of my nails 3 hours after I left the salon! That's how thick the coats were) and there were so many air bubbles. I've never gotten such a terrible manicure before. I never write Yelp reviews but felt compelled to share my experience.
