Today, finally while driving past u saw that the open sign was on so I decided to make a quick stop and check it out. While I had a sort of strange and short experience I'll start with what I saw. Full of trinkets and a variety of items, it seems like a fantastic little spot to explore. The interior was not large, a small little shop likely food for a handful of people at a time, packed with things ranging from fun dishes, records, clothing, and random knickknacks. There was a little library outside along with larger pieces like statues and even some art pieces inside. Now I would love to go back and properly explore, get a better gauge of the pricing as well, but the reason I said "seems" earlier is that when I arrived, the lights were on, open sign was on, door was open. I walked in and there was some radio playing. But not a single person in sight, mind you it's a small space. I said "hello" a few times, stood there in plain view in case anybody walked out (last thing I wanted was to spook somebody on accident being behind a shelf or anything), and heard no response. I stood there a couple minutes, just looking around, but was a tad uncomfortable, not due to the place just the situation, and thus decided to leave and come back another time to more properly explore this space that seemed like a blend of an antique store and a child's playhouse. At least I now know their hours so I'll try again soon!

Great gallery space with original art from well known artists. Chagall, Dali, Warhol, Rosenquist, Picasso, Matisse. Lots of prints and lithographs. The majority of them are signed. Toward the back is a section with cartoon cells and sketches. Like a mini museum! Great website that has everything for sale listed. Prices are definitely high (up to $34K), but you could find a nice piece for as low as $400-600. There's even a layaway program where you can make monthly payments.

You can also rent this space out for events. This would be an awesome place to come. It's a cute date night as well. Walk about the city and stop in for a nice art experience. It's not a large space by any means (especially during the pandemic) but they feature all local art from paintings to multimedia, fused glass, and sculptures. When Durham used to have (and will have again one day) the Third Friday Art Walks, this was one of our regular stops. The art is mostly modern and lively. The Gallery provides ongoing opportunities for Duke students, faculty & staff as well as Durham communities to consider the essential role and transformative capacity of the arts in society. Conveniently located at American Tobacco Campus, open Tuesdays-Saturdays {check the website, summer hours differ from winter hours}, easy to walk in and out and usually fairly quiet. The instructor is an exceptionally talented artist, but what stood out even more was her ability to teach with patience, clarity, and presence. Her instruction created a calm, focused environment where it was easy to slow down, breathe, and simply be in the process of making art. Each class felt like a meditative respite. For a few hours, I was able to step out of the stress of life and reconnect with creativity, observation, and a sense of inner quiet. That is a rare and meaningful gift. The space itself is welcoming and supportive, and you can feel the care that goes into both the teaching and the environment. I made two new albums and needed to make quality copies of many antique pictures. They were on it every time I came in with a new set of pictures.
