Showing up in T-shirts and gym shoes, we assumed we would sit at the bar but after speaking the hostess we decided on the dining room apologizing for our appearance even though they were not phased. I just moved to the area and wasn't sure what to expect but Ki's is a great spot to have nearby! It has more options that your typical steakhouse. There seems to be a little bit of Greek influence, offering kababs (which were SO good), saganki and Grecian seasonings. An underdog is definitely the pot roast, not usually something I'd order off a menu but when it came to the table and I tried it, I instantly regretted not getting it as a meal. However, I was very satisfied with the cedar plank salmon I ordered that was cooked to perfection. I'm very excited to have this place nearby. We first joined ACE Taekwondo in Yorkville back in February 2021, when my daughter--then in the…read moremidst of a full-blown Naruto obsession--begged to become a "ninja". To be honest, I was hesitant at first. My daughter had tried T-ball previously and lost interest quickly, and I worried Taekwondo would be another short-lived hobby. The commitment felt long, and while the cost was reasonable for area martial arts classes, it felt like a risk if she didn't stick with it. On top of that, we were still deep in the pandemic: my daughter wore a mask to every class, and I waited outside in the car. But she loved it. Despite all the challenges, she kept showing up to class, excited and engaged. As Covid restrictions lifted, I started coming inside to watch occasionally, but mostly kept to myself--I'm not much of a "people person." Still, as the months turned into years and my daughter worked her way toward her black belt, I realized this wasn't a passing phase. Her dedication inspired me. Eventually, I started bringing my toddler to the Toddler classes and got to know Master, Instructor White, and the other instructors. When my daughter earned her deputy belt and began preparing for her black belt test, I decided to join her on the mat. I signed up for Taekwondo and, being an overachiever, added Hapkido too! A year later, my daughter and I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to South Korea with ACE for an international tournament and cultural trip. It was amazing to share this experience--and our training journey--together. If we stay on track, my daughter will earn her 2nd Dan (2nd degree black belt) on the same day I receive my 1st black belt. I can't think of a better milestone to share as a family. Now, my 4-year-old is also a Tiny Tiger at ACE. The instructors are wonderful, and the kids we've met through ACE are some of the kindest, most respectful kids I've ever known. They truly embody the tenets of Taekwondo, and ACE is helping shape future leaders in our community. I am so proud to be part of the ACE family. I passed by several times, always reluctant to go in or learn more about this Taekwondo studio. Now…read morethat I've been attending classes for about a year, my only regret is that I didn't have the courage to check them out sooner. The instructors and students are a wonderful group of people. Beyond just teaching martial arts, they've helped me feel more confident and happy, welcoming me into their supportive community. I started with Saturday kickboxing--which was a lot of fun! --but I soon realized I wanted to go more often than once a week. I'm now working toward higher belts and attending two classes a week, which are about 45 minutes in length. The instructors are fantastic and incredibly welcoming. Having seen them work with both kids and adults, I'm impressed by the patience and respect they show everyone. Whether you are four or forty-something, I highly suggest stopping in for a class. I feel more physically fit, my mental health has improved, and I've also found a great group of people to spend my evenings with.

What I especially love about these classes is that you don't just enjoy a fantastic meal--you leave feeling like you've actually learned something and can recreate the dishes at home. There was only one handicap accessible space, very few spots at the entrance and it was a walk to the lower parking lot. It was dimly lit, with several light fixtures flicking. The decor was seriously dated, 1970's style. It looked like a lodge in the mountains. A staff member was rude and didn't want to help. The family couldn't get there early enough to set up and all cabinets were locked, so we had to ask at the desk if we they had any utensils. They had a mish mash container of them. Rates are too high for the facility. And to top it off, there it off, there is a freight train running next to the park of this facility and several trains had come by on the three hours that the service went on. I was looking out for Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomeii. You can find better in the area. If the residents of Crete are happy with this, they need upgrades and find out where there tax dollars are being wasted on.

They did run out if the clarified milk punch as we arrived but they made a spice-forward one that the missus didn't end up ordering. The potato salad was divine - even better than the toast. The kitchen closed though, dang now I wanna try the entire food menu. For last call on drinks (1130pm) we did the moonrise daiquiri (special) for me and the walk softly (signature) for the missus. Highly recommend for any trip to Chicago, especially first timers, even if you don't drink, they have an entire page of non-alcoholic drinks that we would have tried (missus isn't a drinker usually).
