My husband always orders the best for me and my mother on Valentine's Day, usually they all are so beautiful but this time he chose this place to order from expecting the same attention to flowers as most florists would do. Not this year, he paid alot of money for not so fresh flowers thrown together in a jar and plain vase. No attention to detail at all. The leaves are dry and already falling off the roses and I just got them a half hour ago. My mother's arrangement looks pitiful. Really that's the best you can do? On Valentines Day even. I ordered a small sympathy floral arrangement for my aunt. Actually the arrangement was listed under several categories, but the one I chose "That's Darling" seemed to be uplifting and appropriate. I used their website to place my order. I was not entirely impressed with the selection of floral arrangements. I just wanted something colorful and simple, but with long-lasting flowers (they seem to have a lot of long stemmed roses on their site, not what I was wanting). The "That's Darling" arrangement's description says the arrangement features pink Myra roses, soft pastel hydrangea, Matsumoto asters, pink alstroemeria, lavender Limonium, and bupleurum for a long-lasting floral experience. It's $59 for a small arrangement, $69 for a larger bouquet and $79 for the largest bouquet. I ordered the $59 one plus $6 delivery fee + 7.25% salestax. The site is a bit clunky and old school. Took me forever to find the fine print where orders placed online before 2pm are eligible for same day delivery (it's at checkout) so I placed a same-day order. They rang the doorbell and made a contactless delivery in the early afternoon. My aunt was very pleased. read more

I ordered a dozen yellow roses for my daughters birthday. She works right there in Ottawa. I was driving using my bluetooth while giving the order and the guy taking the order seemed short with me because I wasnt going in the order he preferred to receive the information. The cost was extremely HIGH for a dozen rosen and vase vase which I've bought elsewhere many times before. Now my daughter was so happy to receive her flowers she took a picture and posted it on Facebook. THAT is how I seen the product of my purchase. It literally looks like someone just through it in the vase with a care. NO trimming of the leaves. NO triming of the stims so the roses are of different lengths. We LOVED working with Blythe Flowers for our wedding at the Starved Rock Lodge! We had to cancel our large wedding due to COVID19 and planned a smaller ceremony & dinner instead. I reached out to Blythe Flowers just 2.5 weeks before the new wedding date, and they were able to work with us to create a beautiful bridal bouquet, groom's boutonniere, flowers for bride's hair, colorful mason jars & flowers for our dinner table, and plants for our dinner. Tina was amazing to work with - very responsive over both email and phone calls, and she brought my vision to life perfectly! She was also very flexible and was able to drop-off my bouquet and hair decor to me at the salon and then brought the other flowers and plants to the lodge. My Uncle in Peru passed away this week at the age of 100 and 1day. I lost two life-long friends in the same wk so I am in a haze, my brain needed help... I live in TN... I searched and called numerous florists and was disappointed with what they could and could not do - it is Memorial Day wkend but... In speaking with Ashley at Blythe Florist - my concerns and requests were addressed. I had interest in 3 or 4 different arrangements and Ashley, in a way, merged them all together to give us what we felt would honor my Uncle appropriately -- they even have (unlike other florists that I called) Cubbies materials they could add as my Uncle is the biggest Cubs fan that I believe has ever walked this earth!... Ashley even promised to send me a picture of the arrangement so I can be a bit closer to the service that I am not able to attend. She also was so patient when I needed a moment while tears were flowing... WOW!! In today's world, when people are so cold and unconcerned about each other (an occurrence unfortunately found often in TN) - I cannot thank Ashley enough for her professionalism and kindness. I feel this arrangement will be made with love and respect for my Uncle and his family. And, it was so nice to talk with someone from home... I was referred to Blythe by a friend who was married at Starved Rock a few years ago. After interviewing a few floral designers in the area I booked with Blythe. It was a decision I could not be happier with! Sue was wonderful to work with the entire time - from first consultation - to dealing with me not knowing the names of my favorite flowers - to a few last minutes changes! I am tearing up typing this review just thinking of seeing Sue carry the box of flowers into the room I was getting ready in. I was excited beyond words. After showing her a few pics of what I liked Sue made every dream I couldn't put into words a gorgeous reality! Every bride should use the team at Blythe! I received some beautiful flowers for Mother's Day from my daughter. They were bright and they were beautiful. However, the weather was not very good this past weekend. They were left on the front doorstep with no covering. Not even a very light plastic bag over them. That disappointed me. The amount of money I'm sure she spent on these beautiful flowers and it was very sad that they were not placed in some kind of holder or in a covering. I did get a call from the florist saying that they left them on the front steps. Which was very kind of them, however we did not get home until late afternoon. My mom was pleased with the bouquet (not knowing what I had spent) so I asked her to send me a picture. I was SO disappointed when I saw it! It looked like the same arrangement I could have picked up at the grocery store except I paid quadruple! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I grew up in Ottawa and my experiences were always hit or miss with Blythe Flowers. Sometimes, their flowers bouquets were great and priced to match while other times it didn't measure up to the dollar at all. They were completely inconsistent with quality. Now, after the experience they put my mother through, I will never use their services again and will discourage anyone I know to use a different flower and plant shop instead. After they delivered a beautiful rose and lily arrangement to a family friend, my mother mentioned to her best friend how goregeous the flowers were . Her best friend decided to have them send the same arrangement to my mother a week later for her birthday; she even used the family friend's name as a reference so they would know exactly which bouquet to send. What complete disaster and botched job they created! 1. They left a note nowhere near the front door when my mother wasn't home, so she didn't see it for at least 2 days. When she called the shop to have them come back out to deliver, they confirmed the bouquet would be fresh and not 2 days old. 2. Wrong. they delivered the same bouquet from the first attempt (that or just arranged it with old flowers). The arrangement started to wilt before the day was through and flowers had broken off by the next morning. 3. The deception gets worse. My mom didn't know her best friend had requested the same bouquet as she had previously seen (the one with lilies and roses). The bouquet she received instead was filled with carnations and other filler flowers. 4. Worse customer service EVER. When both my mom and her friend asked the shop about what had happened, they were both screamed at (on separate calls). Literally, the shop screamed at my mom to the point where she was in tears...on her birthday. 5. The only reason they should even get 1 lousy star is because when her best friend who originally placed the order wrote a calm email to one of the shop owners explaining from start to finish the continous problems they experienced with the order, they sent a refund. I get it that any flower shop from one time or another will mess up an order - no business is perfect. HOWEVER, there is absolutely no excuse for how the shop handled the situation. After everything, they never did apologize for the stress they put my mother through --receiving flowers for your birthday is supposed to be a great experience and they failed completely. We ordered baby's breath stems here for our rustic outdoor wedding. We're from out of town so I just talked on the phone with a store clerk before picking them up. They were great and service was fast too! I picked up my stems the day of the wedding and they made great baby's breath-only mason jar centerpieces. My g-daughter started her first adult job after college so I wanted to send something special, and different; bamboo is a plant that is for growth and prosperity so this is what I wanted. Blythe was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Ottawa but living in CA I wasn't sure what to expect, However, there was no need to be concerned, the ladies in the shop went above and beyond to find a bamboo plant, which isn't usually on hand. I can't thank Blythe Flowers enough for making an unusual request appear easily as if it were a normal order. Excellent service! I grew up in Ottawa and am familiar with Blythe's; since leaving town, I use their web page to order flowers to be delivered when I'm not able to be there in person. Absolutely pleased with the final product (well, the pictures that are sent to me as a thank you, that is.) Most recently I ordered at 1:30pm and was notified the flowers arrived by 3:30pm. I went into Blythe expecting them to be great with helping me for my wedding bouquet instead the older lady who works there was rude to me not even caring what I wanted for my wedding bouquet just threw together some flowers that were half way dead and expected me to be happy with it when I mentioned my disappointment she didn't even care she just told me it was the nature of the flowers to be ripped and dying like they were. I was so unhappy I wanted to cry because the flowers were for my big day and she didn't even care to make them look nice it looked like something you would buy in Walmart. She wouldn't even make it either she just gave me the flowers and ribbon for me to put it together myself at home.
