Requested bids and designs to remove all the grass in the backyard, install sitting walls around trees with flag stone steps and zero scape setting. The rabbits and voles wreaked havoc in our backyard. We've had to replace our lawn twice. Jeff with Rock Solid Landscaping responded. We agreed to meet and walk the yard. We wanted 3 mounds with larger rocks around with native plants. The crew started everyday at 7am and worked until 4pm. They were always on time and worked a full day. This job was completed in 2 weeks. They delivered a porta potty, bobcat in front of our home. They put cones for safety. They are very organized, when dirt, rocks were delivered they moved to backyard. Then they swept the street and/or driveway to keep clean. Our neighbors complemented on the nice job of keeping street clean. Juan Carlos and his 2 workers were very well organized. They always cleaned up at the end of the day. I asked for a few Day Lillie's be transplanted back into the area. They installed a new drip system with an extension for me to plant my small veggie garden. Not only did he listen to my ideas and talk about how to accomplish them, but he came up with additional ideas that were even better suited to our ultimate goal of a family-friendly yard. A Duralum competitor in Reno said that they could do a custom Gabled Patio Cover for about $5,000 more than a flat cover. But then they tried to convince me that a flat patio cover would fit the area better. I could tell, they just didn't want to attempt the gabled project. Adrian, Jared and Shawn did a great job and were very enjoyable for us to work with. Jared and Shawn performed the bulk of the work on the whole structure. I had several questions for Adrian and Jared and they patiently answered every one of them to my satisfaction. They offered that I could ask questions at any time while they were working. He was the opposite of most sales people and we really liked that. Next, after we signed the agreement, they contacted the local utilities to mark/flag any underground lines and pipes. We did a walk-through with Jose, the project manager, he too had some great suggestions which we adjusted to. Then the work crew came the following week on time as scheduled. They were very professional, cleaned up each day and were very pleasant to interact with each day. The job took about 4.5 days to complete and came out better than expected. The job was the following: 1. install artificial turf replacing the existing live grass area; 2. install a paver pathway on the side yard from the gate to the existing paver work previously done by a different company and also extend it to our hot tub; 3. install pavers on either side of the driveway. If anyone is looking for hardscape work in the Reno, NV area I would absolutely suggest you contact Ken for an on-site walk-through and quote!

From the time we wrote Premium a check to completion was more than 4 months, we were promised 6-8 weeks. The sod that was laid has struggled to grow and every seam can be seen. I have been asking for dead plants to be replaced (we were told that there is a 1-year warranty on all plants) since the beginning of May and it is nearing the end of June, still no replacements. Now I am being told that his company used wasn't his drawing so he won't replace all of the plants. He told us at our first meeting that he didn't like the drawing we gave him and he would re-do the plans and include that in our estimate, we never saw another drawing or rendering. He told us it might take longer than other companies but that we would not find more quality workmanship. This has certainly not been our experience. The drainage in our backyard has been a huge issue since the work was completed and yet no attempt to resolve the issue has been made even though I have asked several times. I have yet to receive a call from Frank even though the 2 people I have talked to know how unhappy we are. We have also discovered that there is a leak in our irrigation and are hoping this company will stand behind their work at some point and make things right....so we don't have more dead plants. I'm struggling to find something positive so on that note, I will generously give the company three stars because our concrete and pavers look great and so far there are no signs of cracking.

The weather is freezing, and the ground is becoming hard to work with, making it imperative to resolve this matter soon or to schedule a time in Spring 2025. Please provide me with a firm date when we can expect someone to address the column. We need at least 24 hours notice to ensure that someone is home to meet the repair team. We hired Pantera Landscape for a major landscaping and hardscaping project at our Reno home, paying…read more$75,098.89 in total. Their initial verbal bid came in $20,000 lower than the final price, which they raised after their design team produced the renderings. (Felt like a bait and switch.) The project was estimated at three weeks and ran closer to 4 months, off and on. The workmanship problems are significant: - The front steps had to be rebuilt three times and still are not code-compliant. The third rebuild happened after a month of using the steps, when the tops started falling off -- a serious safety issue. Even after the third build, the steps are uneven in height (up to an inch difference in places). We have hired another company to fix them. - Retaining wall caps are uneven and sawed off; multiple caps were not secured. - Uneven retaining walls throughout. - Mid-project, they mismeasured the distance of the top retaining wall from the house by several feet, leaving a significant slope despite plans calling for level terraces. They did not take responsibility until we showed them the plans and pushed the issue. They did finally come through with a fix, which was to build a fourth retaining wall. - Sprinkler system was botched and part of our lawn is dying. Danny and Jesus said they could not prioritize a fix for several weeks because they didn't want to make other customers upset. - Decorative rock installed too thin; weed barrier is visibly exposed throughout. - Glue residue left on the front door and on wall blocks. - Exterior lighting has multiple lights that don't work. When we raised the defects, the response was to blame "unforeseen conditions" and "site conditions" -- that is, the slope of our yard (which was the entire reason we hired them to build terraces) and a gas line at 12 inches (which is standard code depth and discoverable through the legally required 811 utility locate). Neither qualifies as unforeseen. If site conditions were a concern, they never should have taken the job. Our last text (requesting they cover the cost of the new contractor we hired to fix the issues) went unanswered. We have filed a complaint with the Nevada State Contractors Board. In our experience: limited skills, and no accountability when problems surfaced. If you're considering Pantera, get every specification in writing, document everything with photos, and pay in much smaller increments. I don't recommend hiring them for complex jobs.
