If I could give this shop ZERO stars, I would!
I absolutely applaud about what I have experienced with this shop through the last year of having the shop attempt to service my vehicle. I have brought this vehicle to this shop with the same concern for each time.
Concern "When at a stop light, with my foot on the brake the vehicle would shake, surge and the RPMs would fluctuate."
The first I took the vehicle there I was extremely happy but that wore off quickly. Every time this vehicle was brought in for the condition, there was no change in performance.
One time I took my vehicle there after 3 days cost me $100, nothing fixed but diagnosis. To what I have no idea since it did not fix the condition of the vehicle. Another time I brought the vehicle in the mechanic stated, "Your dad is too picky about this vehicle and there is nothing wrong with it." This set me off since how does a shop stay in business talking sh*t about their customers and saying there high maintenance. This is f....in BS and unprofessional.
To make a longer story even shorter, recently the vehicle brought to the shop for a Jet Engine noise coming from under the driver compartment every time the vehicle starts up from cold or sitting and RPM fluctuation while at idle. The shop had the vehicle for approx 2 weeks in total for this concern.
The mechanic stated, "There is nothing that can do about the secondary injection pump" but low and behold, this exact shop replaced the pump two additional times under warranty. This last time the mechanic gave me an issue stated this pump is noises from the factory but he was wrong since this vehicle did not come from the factory making noise (I call BS). Supposedly, after going to the Chevy dealership to test 3-4 different pumps he found a non-noisy one. Therefore, noise in fact is no longer. hmmmmmmmmm not sure about this one.
The RPM fluctuation was supposedly diagnosed. So there was NO Check Engine Light, no codes in system, Throttle body supposedly cleaned and relearned (hmmmm I call BS again because there is no such thing as a relearn process as it unhook the negative battery cable, install the part, hook up the cable and be done with it), Fuel injectors serviced, PCM updated (no sure about this one either) and upper oxygen sensor replaced.
I have spent $800-1000 on this same exact concern and the vehicle did have any change in operation. So last week since I was very unhappy with this shop, I took the vehicle to another mechanic shop, they found the issue right away after the first day.
The new shop found the air check valve (diverter valve) broken internal which allow the hot exhaust air to enter the intake manifold gasket, which caused the gaskets to melt flat and become deformed. Since the throttle body is bolted on to the intake manifold body additional damage was caused to the flapper valve of the throttle body, which did not allow it to seat flush when throttle position changed or varied. The new mechanic shop was able to fix the vehicle in 2 days compared to approx 2 weeks.
This new mechanic replaced the air check valve (diverter), intake manifold gaskets and throttle body. It cost $1100.00 the vehicle is running perfect, no RPM fluctuation and engine is extremely quiet. read more
