Nice environment and comfortable seating but poor value for money on everything except the cakes…read more The cakes are something that I will rate them for but their shakes are not deserving of the price tag whether it be a smoothie, shake or blend. Service is not the best and is a bit hit and miss depending on who is working. Should they make a mistake or something not taste right they will not fix it at all and will blame you. By all means enjoy their cakes but for everything else I'd go elsewhere. Review is based on both their branch in Ilford and Green Street, Upton Park (which is the worse of the two)

We would pass by there two or three times a day on the way to the Tube from our hotel. Unfortunately, they were usually closed because we were either too early or too late. We only caught them twice during business hours. We must have sampled almost everything during those two visits. We each ended up buying 3 scoops! Just about all the flavors we sampled tasted very good. Personally, my favorites were the Mango, Banana, and their special flavor. I believe the special flavor was Strawberry Cheesecake. My memory is fading. Anyways, they are worth stopping at and trying. The price points are not too bad when compared to other Gelato places in London. You're sure to sample something you like so check em out for yourself!

In no particular order: - They often call me sir. I am non-binary and clearly not a "sir". This is not a politeness to me, it is completely ignoring gender identity. If you don't know the pronoun to use, with certainty, there is no need to use pronouns. - They don't take credit cards. Not only do they know this is a hassle (they have a sign up saying "we hope this doesn't upset you" - well of course it upsets me to have to find and ATM and deal with change), their sign almost seems proud of the hassle it causes. Very arrogant attitude, and with current fee caps it can't save them nearly what it costs them in lost business and wasted time. - The serving sizes are too small. The prices seem low, yes. But you get what you pay for. It isn't actually a great deal. In short, a well-worthwhile stop - but they have some things to fix!

How an Ice Cream shop came to land in the High Street we'll never know - but I think we're all glad it did. The annoying thing is that I only think about once every three years "ooh, maybe I'll go to Rossi's" when in reality the place is so cool and different that it should be visited all the time, perhaps even daily. Or hourly?. In many ways - it's pretty standard. They have a typical selection of ice creams and scones, but it's the mere fact that an ice cream place sits in Barkingside that makes it most impressive. Another reason I have affection for it is simply because it's a part of my youth. When me and my friends used to hang out in the park, Rossi's was often on the menu. These days I feel that people picking up a Mcdonalds Mcflurry are missing out. They also sell a selection of chocolates - although I've never tried them. I don't mean they sell Mars Bars, but the real stuff - you know, little displays with weird names that cost a little more. In fact, maybe I should try them out. Anyways; if you're a local then you probably know Rossi Brothers. But like me, you probably haven't been there in way too long. Go check them out. I'd imagine an Ice Cream shop in Barkingside during all this financial turmoil, to say nothing of this bad weather, might be struggling. So go pick up a cone. Food: The ice cream here is amazing, I find it really difficult to pick a flavour, my favorite ice cream flavour has to be the honeycomb, it is amazing!! So so tasty! They do take away and also do tubs of ice cream. I normally get the tubs for my house. They also do chocolates as Daniel has said, but I also have never tried them, they look really good though. Recently, however, I came across Taza which I must admit has some of the finest pakistani food a high-street outlet has to offer. With food prepared by a fine Punjabi chef from Lahore city, it has become one of my favourite Pakistani diners with comfortable seating arrangements and a good cosy atmosphere to enjoy a casual dining experience. And of course what better way to capture the essence of Pakistan than providing the customers with the liberty of enjoying some bollywood videos on their 32 inch plasma screens [I would, however, request to have it turned over to an alternative channel; with less heavy-gyration in public spaces, glammed out in sequenced outfits!!]
