I'm from the U.S. and am gluten, dairy and egg free (not by choice) and traveling and trying to find good things to eat, especially desserts is hard! I arrived in London today and found this place on Yelp. I had the soft serve (almond and cashew based) with a gluten free vegan chocolate chip cookie. I didn't miss the gluten, butter, eggs, cream...I mean it was seriously delicious. I wish we had this back home. The girl working was also amazing, handling a line of customers, food delivery and baking cookies. If your in the area, give it a try. We also tried the strawberry cookie and it was no where near as good as the choc chip.

It was 10 min past closing…read moretime and as I was randomly walking by the Soft Serve looking for dessert, the applesolutely caught my attention. It is described as soft serve ice cream, oat crumble, and apple cinnamon stew. I love apple pie and ice cream and I saw potential for a nice treat. The girl behind the counter said she was willing to take my order if it is something simple. She was ok with making an applesolutely for me. Ohh it was so delicious as I walked off in bliss. It was just short of an actual apple pie slice stuffed in a cup of ice cream. The sweetness and the spices there had the apple stew flavor just right. It's hard to find good apple pie or apple desserts with good flavors that's reminiscent of grandma's apple pie. The ratio of apple filling to ice cream was even perfect. My sister sampled it and was at the counter 5 minutes later and the same girl was nice enough to make her one! It's a shame that sometimes you find the best foods far away from home.

I sampled her ice cream. A bit of citrus, but something lurking beneath, something herbaceous. I ran over and said I wanted the lemon zest ice cream because that's what my friend said. Wrong! Orange zest with rosemary and honey. I love rosemary and my subconscious must have picked out that flavor. So good! Today's flavors come from La Gelateria and included these also: chocolate and chili sorbet; strawberry sorbet; bergamot sorbet; lemon sorbet; peanut butter; and fresh mint & chocolate chips. One scoop was £2.50 and two scoops was £3.50. So, check out Broadway Market when you can. And if you're wondering about their flavors, check out their website link.

Upon meeting us, we were informed there was ice cream at the London Fields Brewery. Welcome to Tomscoopery, a one woman ice cream establishment welcoming you to London Fields Brewery. I was definitely after her whiskey ice cream (malted whiskey to be exact). There were other flavors too. She sources her gelato from 2 or 3 establishments. Though she didn't know the specific whiskey used here, she's focused on knowing what the ingredients are and where they are coming from. You can tell from her knowledge and the signage denoting the vegan and premium selections. From Gelupo there was: ricotta, almond & elderflower; emelia rumagna apricot honey; malted banana; 72% Venezuelan chocolate; and Pimms & Lemonade (winner for my friends). From Il Gelato di Ariela there was: malted whiskey cream; wild blueberry sorbet; and alfonso mango sorbet. 1 scoop = £2, 2 scoops = £3 and for a premium ice cream add another £1. There you have it. Check out their facebook page (Google it since Yelp didn't let me add it) for more information and get yourself down to the London Fields Brewery for cream and brews.
