They did a great collab with Kuromi for her Mischief Mansion. I really enjoy their curry pan here…read more I was sad they discontinued the spicy curry pan because that was one of my favorites. The Kuromi collab was very cute and the box was in theme with the Halloween Mischief Mansion. The pastry itself was sweet potato flavored and the other purple puff thing was just a regular puff with no filling. I enjoyed the sweet potato pastry. The other milk bread that was purple was sold out ... damn ya'll are wild.. LOL overall I really enjoyed my time here and they always get me when they do cute collabs like this! The Kuromi drinks were also standard and I expected more. Not even a cute cup sleeve for Kuromi? Boo. LOL. The drink itself was pretty basic and if it wasn't the Kuromi themed drink I wouldn't order it - although that purple lemonade was pretty refreshing. The Kuromi latte which had taro was basic as well and I feel like you can order that anywhere else. Service was efficient and fast despite having a long line in the morning, very good especially when this place is known for having long lines.

Okayama Kobo has been the place with collab and this one is not just kawaii but adorably put together...love that it's for the month of October not just a few days for folks like me who take awhile to gather herself but once is never enough to enjoy their baked goods and drinks that's not just delicious but almost too stunning to devour. Located in Ward Entertainment so parking is free and easy just deciding on what you want is the test and today is no different that I decided to get a box as why not the presentation makes me smile and it's purple. The service here is always so polite and friendly confirming each choice I made so that I know they not just understood but always on the same page with my choices. As you cash out is where you make your drink choices and as much as I love their matcha here I had to get a Kuromi drink of Kuromi Berry Lemonade which is a raspberry lemonade tea with butterfly pea tea for the added color presentation. The vibe is so fun and adorable with Kuromi everywhere I do recommend to get there early for best selection and seating so that you can relax and be mischievous at your leisure ;). Thank you!

Almost Missed Out on Leonard's Bakery -- So Glad I Didn't!…read more During my trip to Oahu, I passed by Leonard's Bakery on my second day and noticed a really long line, so I decided to skip it. Honestly, I wasn't even planning to come back! But on my very last day in Hawaii, my friend took me there, and I'm so glad I finally gave it a try! We arrived around 10:30 AM, and surprisingly, there wasn't much of a line! I waited less than three minutes before placing my order. Since it was my first visit, I ordered half a dozen malasadas, choosing one of each available flavor. The atmosphere was simple and casual, and the ordering process was quick and straightforward. After ordering inside, I waited outside for my order to be called at the pickup window. And let me tell you, those freshly made, hot malasadas were absolutely delicious! They were so fresh and warm, and I loved every bite. Definitely worth stopping by! My advice: The lines can vary! On my second day, the line was extremely long, but on my last day, I barely waited. You might get lucky, or you might need some patience. Either way, I recommend giving them a try! I'm so glad I didn't leave Hawaii without experiencing Leonard's Bakery. It was a wonderful way to end my vacation, and I'll definitely be returning on my next trip to Oahu! Overall experience: 5/5

We were able to load up on delicious dim sum before heading to the airport and it was a great last stop. The half moons were AMAZING. I believe these are more popular here (I certainly haven't seen them on the east coast but will keep an eye out), and I know I'll be thinking about them when I'm back in NYC. The portions were MASSIVE! Seriously, the size of the dim sum here is something I'm going to miss. The black-eyed bean jung was another standout. Absolutely PACKED with filling, flavorful, and so satisfying. They do not skimp here! Everything felt generous, comforting, and delicious. I'm genuinely sad about not having this back home. An absolute must-visit, and definitely somewhere I'll be returning to the next time I'm in Hawaii!

I think the meat changes but it's usually some slice of meat rather than a sausage or bacon and there's also cooked greens on there that are a little different. The croissant items I've had have all been really good. Today I tried the quiche and it was very good and had a really tasty croissant crust. The egg and ricotta in there was really creamy and custard like. Mushrooms were good but I wonder if this would be even better with Hamakua mushrooms? It would mesh well with their use of local ingredients. The one negative is that the $3.75 coffee was TINY. Granted if you eat there I think you can refill it but kind of a rip off if you're getting things to go. The meat is all pretty pricy but it's local stuff so that's cool. There's also some unique things that you probably can't find elsewhere. I was excited to see venison pastrami and venison liver mousse. Hoping to try some of that stuff soon!

Since it was their anniversary on Sunday, also got their celebratory funfetti cupcake which also like their baked goods did not disappoint. The croissant base of many of their pastries is flaky. When fresh it crunches with every bite that you take. This time around we had the cinnamon roll, mango danish which had a chocolate mochi filling, and their char siu bun. It's such a neat take to have char siu in a croissant. We are used to having it in the doughy bao bread but in a croissant, savory with a crunchy outside tastes so much better. I love sweet but this one wasn't overly sweet, who would have thought that mango and chocolate pair so well together. It's the summer months, fresh mango on pastries. It was the perfect ripeness. For the cinnamon roll, you honestly cannot forget get their cinnamon roll...It's flaky and again the frosting is not overly sweet. Can't wait to get another box of their pastries again soon.

I enjoyed the loco moco at the Kuakini location a while back, so I wanted to try it again here. Whereas the original coffee shop was counter service, here on the third floor of the International Market Place there was a lot of seating capacity. I waited outside for its 7 am opening, but it took them a few minutes after that before they welcomed us in. I was among the first to be seated. I ordered the loco moco sunny-side up and a coffee. The coffee and grilled butter roll arrived first. The loco moco several minutes after that. I had heard that the loco moco wasn't grilled the same way as at the original location, but it looked and tasted about the same. The food was as good, but the atmosphere was way different - not necessarily better or worse. I think I prefer Kuakini because there you have a close-up view of the food being made.
