A disease that can easily be controlled if sprayed either in the fall after leaf drop or in the spring before leaf emergence. The tree, purchased several weeks earlier had fully leafed out when I purchased it and as it turned out without getting the requisite spray to control the disease. The disease was devastating, stunting the tree with over 50% leaf loss, and the remaining leaves yellowed and covered with holes. As an extra bonus, the new tree managed to infect two other trees that never before had the disease. I requested either a refund or a replacement and got neither, just the disgusting quote at the top of this comment. Any nursery that sells diseased and infectious plants has got to go. Tell your landscapers you do not want infected plants.

That's why we always gave people a 90 day or one growing season guarantee at Ritters. They don't do that you buy something there. It's yours you just paid the price for something that's never gonna last possibly. If it were me, I would never purchase anything at Ritter's again. I spent $350 on a tree that was dead in 30 days but it's your money your choice.

A variety of cute little plants and she was most helpful telling me how to care for things as I have the biggest brown thumb. I picked out a cute little succulent and a tiny pot. She took the time to pot it for me and tell me how to care for it. She mentioned there was macrame classes but currently nothing scheduled. This is a super popular thing and sounds interesting to learn about. I would have never known this quaint little shop was here had she not signed up for a Yelp event. When I told them I was going to hand load it into bags and disclosed my 619 area code, I'm sure they thought "batshit crazy Californian" - but hey, I'm not complaining. I got my compost and feel happy with the product and the price. If you are as crazy as me and willing to get your workout, bring a roll of strong garbage bags, a shovel and maybe a bucket to hold up your bags. Go into the office and say you want a cubic yard of compost and you will hand load it. You might raise a little laugh but, you are crazy after all. :-) They'll sell it to you and give you a receipt. You will drive your car around to the compost pile on the lot. I was helpfully shown where to park. They will drive a tractor up, scoop your cubic yard and dump it on the ground for you to shovel into bags. If you are lucky enough to have or borrow a truck they will put it in the truck bed for you. If not proceed to get your workout shoveling it into the garbage bags and throwing them into the back of your car. A cubic yard of compost in bags fills the back of an SUV with the back seats down. So ladies move your car seats out first and bring those strong garbage bags. You won't have to go to the gym today! Better yet bring a teenager (only one will fit in the car) and get some help with this chore. Wish I had one of those but my kid's only 7. Thanks Northland Nursery for tolerating this newb! ;-)

Furniture places come and go. I've had a few rough encounters over the years with delayed orders…read moreand misguided sales people. This weekend, however, I had a very pleasant experience worth sharing. My husband and I were shopping for a recliner in advance of the arrival of our second child (due in one week). We'd had nice experiences at 3 other stores, but found the chair that met all our needs at Walkers. Made in the USA, comfortable, etc. I wasn't sure about the color though. The manager actually carried the chair outside, with my husband's help, to make sure it was the right color in natural light. It was! But they were out of stock in the warehouse. Instead of waiting several weeks, the manager sold us their floor model! And he discounted it a bit to cover any problems that might arise as a result of that. And he helped load it into the car. Then today I got a call that he'd added the extended service plan to the chair, at no cost, because he wanted to make sure we were well taken care of. This is truly above and beyond. Our sales person, who helped make the transaction easy, no-pressure and productive, explained that if we don't use the warranty, we'll end up with a significant credit to use at the store. Huh? That kind of stuff doesn't happen much. We'd gone to Walker's because they'd been around a long time and seemed less likely than many other places to disappear in a month. Now we'll go back because of the service we received and quality merchandise. What a nice surprise.

For the second time with walkers Furniture the warranty for our 4,000 couch isn't being addressed…read moreproperly and the couch we were sold was delivered with less than standard quality! Ofcourse walkers doesn't really take responsibility for this once again. We have better results buying used furniture at this point! We really hoped that the changes they made would be reasonable and they are far from it. We're not a family that can buy new furniture every year so it's incredibly sad to say the least! $500 for a warranty that does nothing apparently. We have waited I think 8 months for a call about the replacement parts and its more broken than before. 3 years now I think or close to it waiting on repairs and this whole process.
