CRBR did not explain their process. They were in a hurry to get a contract signed. I was told they know how submit to the insurance company, so they pay for the services. Yet I still had to pay over $8,000. The employees seemed nice and considerate, but the work was only fair. I had a roof leak which led to the ceiling in my kitchen completely falling down. When they did start to dry out and repair the ceiling it took a week and that was after the ceiling was cut out and removed. The patch for the ceiling looked good at first but once painted the texture did not match the rest of the room. They were not going to blow the insulation until I asked for it since the rest of my house was that way. I think they were cutting corners in material. I paid just over $8,000. to get the ceiling repaired. The work done was not worth that amount of money. I would encourage everyone who is considering this company to search other options. I really wish I had. Vicki L I didn't mention how I had paint specs that were tracked all over my hardwood floor that was not cleaned up by them.

    Paint smeared on keyless entry

Our upstairs guest bathroom flooded in December 2021, which leaked through the shared wall with our master bathroom, as well as down into the ceiling above our kitchen. The fix to our kitchen ceiling went smoothly; however the bathroom repairs are just now wrapping up - 7 months later. Throughout the process CRBR has caused numerous project delays as well as cost overages, due to their own lack of professionalism, incompetence, low-quality work and poor communication within their organization as well as with my husband and me. Below are examples of how poorly this project has been handled: -On at least 3 separate occasions, CRBR workers have been scheduled to come work, and have not shown up. When we called to inquire where they were, the secretary/receptionist/scheduler informed us that whoops, she forgot to put us on the schedule. So then we had to reschedule, which oftentimes pushed out into the following week. -On a Thursday, the men working in our house mentioned they were being pulled off the job due to non-payment. We were confused as we had not received any invoices, or communication from the project manager as to payment being due yet. When we called to inquire, first we were told the invoices had been sent to us and our payments were overdue. We checked email - no invoices. Then we were informed that whoops, staff had forgotten to send us any invoices, and nobody bothered to call us to ask about why we hadn't paid yet. By the time we figured that out, workers were already scheduled to another project and couldn't return until the following week. We were left with both upstairs toilets uninstalled and left in the shower stalls, so we could not use the toilets or showers all weekend. -The guest bathroom oilet was re-installed incorrectly by CRBR. Within 2 hours it started leaking, which necessitated CRBR workers coming after-hours to fix it, rip out the newly re-installed baseboard and leave a fan running all night so ensure no additional water damage. -CRBR was too busy to clean the grout haze off of the newly installed tiles in the master bathroom, and only came to clean it when I asked them to tell me what materials I needed to do it myself. See photo. -CRBR replaced the guest room vanity as they broke the original by mistake. They did not match the replacement to the rest of the granite (bullnose edge) so had to schedule yet an additional day for them to come out and grind the edges down - which should have been done prior to installing. -CRBR dumped brown grout wastewater into our front yard rocks, which stained both the rocks and the sidewalk below. See photo. -CRBR left paint smears on our keyless entry, and denied it was done by them. See photo. -CRBR did not use any type of shoe protectors or lay down tarps/carpet protection, so the carpet up the staircase and down the hallway is destroyed. I am still awaiting a reply as to whether CRBR will replace the carpet, or at the very least clean it. The project manager indicated they would likely not replace, and even tried to tell me it was already in bad condition (not true). See photos. Overall I would not recommend CRBR to anyone. The lack of professionalism, poor repairs and resulting damage to my home is so disappointing and I'm still in shock as to how much of my time and energy has been wasted - as well as that of CRBR. Their poor communication and shoddy work cost thousands of dollars and extra weeks of work to fix their many mistakes.

When my husband and I discovered that we had a leaky kitchen sink that had caused a mold issue, we called CRBR to come take a look. I specifically said that we did not want to start anything because we were waiting for our insurance company to get back to us on if they would cover this under our home insurance, I agreed to pay the $156 to get them up here just to take a look. When the tech got here, he took pictures, did is inspection and then had me sign a few papers. We got the talking and I felt comfortable with him and he was just quickly explaining papers not going into detail, but he seemed nice, so I felt okay by signing the documents he had provided. Unknowingly, I signed a blank equipment rental document, about halfway through he starts telling me that he is going to leave some machines here. I asked how much it was going to cost and he said that he does not deal with the pricing and I would have to call Curtis. So, I started to look through the paperwork that he had left as he was continuing his "inspection", that is when I noticed that he had filled in the equipment page to list 3 items: Negative air fan/Air scrubber, Air mover & Dehumidifier. I quickly asked why he was leaving these items here and he explained that there was a lot of mold and he was concerned for our safety breathing in the mold spores. I was scared, I was in a panic because my husband has bad asthma and I did not want him to get sick. The tech was here maybe 1.5 hours and since I am working from home, I didn't follow his every move. I understand that I should have not signed documents without fully reading and understanding them which is my fault but I do not excuse this company repeatedly trying to take advantage of me. He left after saying they would check come to check on the equipment in 24-48 hours and let them know when I heard back from our insurance. Before he left I asked about the equipment once more, I asked if I should close the windows while the machines are running to which he responded no need, if you want to keep the fresh air that is fine. I called Curtis after I got off work to see how much the equipment was going to cost me to which he responded it was going to be about $350 dollars. I told him I would have to talk to my husband, because the tech had scared me thinking that the mold spores are going to negativity affect my husband, our animals and myself. My husband took a look at the equipment they had left and we crawled under the house to the location they had put the "fan" to dry out the sub-floor only to discover that it was not wet/damp at all and the "evidence" that their was a leak was from a previous leak and repair that was done before we purchased the house. I called CRBR the next morning right when the opened and told them to come pick up the equipment because my insurance company said they could not get anyone out to our house for a couple days. The tech came out in a few hours to come get the 3 pieces of equipment. He asked me to sign documents saying that they picked up the equipment and that I was satisfied which I said I did not want to sign because I didn't feel the equipment was necessary at all. The tech said that if I didn't sign the documents he wouldn't take the equipment, so if I didn't sign the papers I would get charged another day of rentals which I can not afford because my husband is not working full time due to COVID. I signed the papers just to get them out of my house and I called back the office to express my concern about the unnecessary equipment & to talk about the estimated I got which was $554.31. I've just got the run around with this company, I've called and talked to 3 people at CRBR (Curtis, Krista and another male who's name I did not get) and I've repeatedly said that I did not want to pay for the 4 hours of equipment set up/take down because it did not take that long and their response was that it was also their travel time from Chico to Magalia, which seems like double dipping since they still are charging me for the Inspection/Scheduling fee of $156.00. Plus, I tried to explain that the "fan" under the house was unnecessary and I should not have to pay for that. Every time I would call, they would tell me they would have to talk to the supervisor, and nothing got done about my bill. Now I got a "Demand for Payment" letter which says that they will file an immediate mechanics lean on my property. Can you believe them! I will NEVER use this company again and I would hope after reading this review no one else will use them! They are just in it for the money and scare people into thinking they need their services that really do not.

This is what they left me with.

That's one of the last things any homeowner wants to deal with. Because I've had experience in construction, I began my search for mold remediation services that did not include restoration. And that's were Daniel, owner of Redding's Rush Relief Restoration Services, came in. Daniel came over within a couple hours of my initial call to make an initial assessment and offer his bid, which I thought was quite reasonable. The morning after accepting his bid, he arrived with two of his sons to start the demolition work. Turns out, this is very much of a family-owned and operated business. Daniel's wife is the office manager. Daniel provided a most thorough removal of all traces of mold, while protecting all surrounding areas from any contamination. My particular situation involved removing the tub, toilet, vanity, the lower 3-4 feet of drywall and all the floor tile of the entire bathroom, closet of the adjacent room and part of the hallway between them. After all the mold was removed, Daniel arranged for a local air quality testing company to come test for the presence of any mold spores in the work area. Today they came and provided me with a clean bill of health for my house. Now the restoration process can begin. One of the things that really stood out was how patient and considerate Daniel was ... of my own schedule, of always having his office manager call to let me know exactly when he'd be arriving each day, and of explaining to me everything he was doing and why. (I'm a very inquisitive sort.) Another thing I appreciated is that Daniel never pressed to do any restoration work. In short, Daniel and his family went out of their way to make a stressful situation as stressless as possible. For all of that I am most grateful.

They repeatedly had communication issues with us and the insurance company and TWO YEARS LATER had only installed a temp pole, dug a hole trying to find our well, and rebuilt a water tank and pressure tank with a USED booster pump. They charged our insurance 2,145.00 for that used pump (it was OUR OLD PUMP they NEVER replaced it) and told us that the reason why the pvc pipe kept breaking was because of PG&E power fluctuations. We had to pay out of pocket for another company to come fix their error after multiple problems with it. They tried to charge us for repairing this problem and even threatened to put a lien on our property for not paying them to repair their error. FINALLY, we parted ways with a threat to the CSLB in 2020 and found a new contractor, just in time for the Covid material cost increases. We should have filed our complaint with the CSLB and taken them to court. I suggest you have your contract looked at by a contract attorney if you decide to go with this company. NorCAL's owner, Owner F recommended that I replace the entire houses flooring. I said no and am happy I did. Dealing with owner M and owner F was frustrating which is strange because they had great reviews. Turns out those reviews are from the previous owner. That should not be allowed. I felt as if I had to manage my own project. Anytime I would ask about when something would get started or completed, I was met with "its day by day, I can't tell you any of that, this is just how it goes". Or I would get no text back at all. Their communication and planning are weak. First I signed the contract and fully designed everything myself. I sent item numbers and where to get the products. I only asked if we were on budget. Everything was torn out by a different company in June. NorCal did not start the rebuild for a long time. The house just sat there. I moved out mid May. NorCal's Owner M said that it would be done October 3. In the beginning of NorCal starting, there were 11 no show days where I was told workers would be coming. I felt like the project was going nowhere and when I asked what was going on I received excuses. They had literally missed more work days than they had come to. To make things worse, I noticed a rodent issue due to the demo it allowed critters in (this was not their fault) I paid a good amount of money to seal up my house and make sure the mouse situation was resolved. I also asked owner F to make sure that while they worked, that no one gave rodents the opportunity to get back in. Due to mismeasurement Owner F told me that we would have to replace and downsize my door that goes from my kitchen to my garage and that I would need to pay out of pocket, not my insurance. This was not part of the plan. After some research I realized that making the door 2 inches smaller would have been in violation of CA code. A NorCal employee came to do the door and left the job with the door completely off the hinges. I went to my home to find this and I had to use trash bags and duct tape to seal it off myself. After the no shows, poor communication, mismeasurement, adding the door, very little work getting done after 4 months and leaving the door open, I wanted out of my contract. I made my first complaint to Owner F . He told me it is their legal right to "show up once every 90 days" to avoid contract abandonment. I felt as if I was being held hostage. Watch out for the contract with no start or end date. It ONLY protects them. NOT YOU. Lesson learned, but also unprofessional of him. This kind of behavior doesn't inspire trust. Owner F seems to have a way of speaking to people as if he is in a place of power and he REALLY enjoys it. If you have a complaint, too bad....and let me tell you what part of the contract says we have you by the balls...... is the overall vibe. Work started, then came to a standstill: Owner M explicitly told me that no work could go further until the countertops were in and another company was in charge of that, so we were waiting on them. Shortly after, I started getting emails from Lowes about paying the remaining amount for the countertops. I called the company that was to cut and install. Turns out the countertops were not paid for and materials were never even sent from Lowes to the folks who cut and install them as Owner M stated. The countertop company said that all of her emails and calls to NorCal went unanswered. Owner M said that Lowes told him that they would send the materials and get them installed, then he would pay after. The countertop company told me that Lowes would never do that. I had been asking for a door knob for weeks to go out and do laundry. I was met with no response. Every time they did something, it was half way done, then it just sat unfinished for days. This set back the completion date for my home getting done and was totally avoidable. My Significant other finally decided that he needed to get involved after hearing a very rude conversation on speaker with Owner F and knowing that owner M was giving me the run around with the countertops and door knob. He went to their shop and had a chat with owner M. Owner F was not there. My S.O. said it was all excuses and getting ridiculous, if they couldn't do the job then they should have let me find someone else who could. After he left their shop, I received a text from owner F stating that if my S.O. ever comes to their shop or speaks to any of their employees, he will get a restraining order. This was the last straw for me. Owner F 's response was an overreaction intended to intimidate us rather than take any responsibility for their poor service and lack of communication. There were more issues but I think you get the point. Construction is stressful no matter what but this was so much worse than I had imagined. Be sure to look at your contract.
