Disappointing experience as a crazy nail regular, terrible customer service from nail tech Linda and Kim! I normally come for acrylic fills and I have no problem when it comes to who does my nails, I'm not picky nor complain about little things like the way the shape turned out, but I find I run into these issues when it comes to the nail tech Linda, it could be the simplest thing to wanting a square shape and she'll round the edges after I've explained numerous times to keep the square straight but today I walked in for my normal fill and requested black shellac polish when they were finished and the topcoat was curing I noticed iridescent sparkles, I was trying to figure out if It was coming from the black polish or the topcoat because I never requested sparkles and Linda proceeded to say there's no sparkles, it's the light or I'm not seeing them I asked another worker to take a look to show that there was indeed sparkles. I've ran into this issue with linda before not informing me the solid colour I've chose had Iridescent sparkles in it, that's not good for business If the customer thinks they're getting one thing and you're giving them something completely different. I came to the conclusion that the topcoat had sparkles and nobody was aware Due to the contamination of constantly using the same topcoat on multiple nail designs that contain sparkles The normal thing to do would not use the same topcoat as sparkle designs on solid colour nails To avoid potentially adding sparkles, after stressing my concerns because I can't have sparkle nails for work they said they can cover the topcoat with the black Polish again And they did, i still seen sparkles on my Thumb so I told Linda Implying to do another layer At this time The nail tech Kim Inserted herself in the conversation And said Linda will take it all off and I can pay for the fill and go somewhere else because "we don't have the black you want"! She proceeded to say nobody's complained that the black has sparkles before. When that's not the issue I was bringing to light the black was fine It was the clear topcoat that put sparkles on my nails because the constant cross contamination with other nails with sparkles, As a returning/regular Customer I find that very disrespectful to try and discard what I'm saying basically shooing me out because of an issue they caused, then to make a seen by Kim raising her voice to me like that putting me on display When it was their mistake With no apology for one wasting my time and two having to Paint all the nails again, No Compensation or discount for her wrecking the foundation of the nails by adding the 5 coats of polish she had to do because of this. I explained this situation with a gentleman named Huey who did a great job without a doubt helped me and made sure it was properly done.

Not the usual seat w/ tub, it's portable here

My friends and I should've read the reviews before we came here. This place is a disaster; cheap and disgusting. To start off, they don't have those comfortable chairs with the tub to get your pedicure done. You sit on regular chairs and they bring portable pedicure tubs. The technicians here rush to get the job done, that they do such a bad job (you can do better at home, I'm not lying). They rushed my friend's pedicure and she was bleeding so much. Three of us went, once we were done, only ONE of us got to dry our feet but they forgot about me and my friend? So annoyed with my experience here! Will def. not be back, to be honest I've been to cheaper places that do a MUCH better job and take their time.

What it's supposed to look like vs. reality

My younger sister went here to do her nails, and this one Vietnamese lady, I believe her name is Linda. My younger sister showed me a before and after picture of what it's supposed to look like and it looked nothing like the picture, in a male and I could have done a better job if I had the material and equipment to do it (this is saying a lot). My sister told her to curve the finger nails and the lady didn't know my sister was also Vietnamese. The lady was complaining to another of her co-worker when my sister asked her to reshape the nails better. It is her job to make the nails nice and not to complain. She also made my sister's skin next to the nail bed bleed and didn't even put the sparkles. She didn't get a tip. P.S. before you talk shit behind your customers back, try to know if they speak or understand your language first ...I'll post a picture below...

I got them done two days ago and it looks like it's been a week and a half.

Came in because of the reviews, and I'm honestly shocked why the rating is so high. The place is extremely outdated, cramped and dirty. I came to get a mani pedi and my eyebrows waxed with an appointment and right away they were so confused. Kept asking me what I was getting, tried to get me to switch around things and tried telling me I can't get a manicure with shellac nails because they can't do it...? Why not? Before going I assumed they would have massage chairs for the pedicures, but I was heavily disappointed to find that while I was getting my nails done, I was told to twist my body so one woman can work on my feet in a little tub she brought over to my station while the other worked on my nails. They laughed and called it efficient. It was uncomfortable and extremely messy. She was so ridiculously rough with my feet that my heel was completely rubbed raw and stung until the next morning with a red rash of bruised skin. I already had decently long nails but wanted fake nails, she was confused why I didn't want to use my real nails but they were clearly uneven and I wanted something long lasting. When it came to deciding on a length, she made me feel pressured into getting a much longer length than I wanted, just because she thought it would've been a waste for her to do them. I wanted something natural and ended up getting a very dramatic length I'm not comfortable for a vacation. The nail clipper she used was absolutely filthy and I could see she wasn't sanitizing anything or using anything brand new. She did a half assed job on my nails, with gaps along my cuticles and shellac stains on my skin. They don't have a wide selection for shellac, and instead of giving me the samples to look for a colour at the beginning while I wait or something, they did it wfter the acrylic was on and my manic was being done so I had to hobble around in a paper shoe with those toe separators and go through all of their empty shellac bottles. When it came to my eyebrows, it was in this disgusting tiny, makeshift room in the corner of the store. They told me to just go in and lie down, without coming to change the paper cover. The paper had an imprint of someone's oily cheek all over the head area that was so gross I had to pull on the paper to get a cleaner spot. And even then I was scared to lay down because of how filthy the area was. Though they are cheap, very friendly, sweet and spoke English more than other nail salons I'm used to, that doesn't make up for their service. I will definitely not be returning.

    Shellac + mani

I love this place. I went here because a friend recommended them. Instantly greeted by the staff upon walking in. Everyone is super friendly and extremely patient --esp when you want to pick the perfect nail colour. They even let you sample it on your nail prior to making your final decision and reassure you that it is alright. You can tell they take their time filing your nails exactly how you want, and ask for satisfaction affirmation. I got a shellac manicure for $25, and they took off my previous shellac as well and allowed me to soak my nails in acetone for a less abrasive removal (other places don't always do this, they may use the electronic drill that is harsh on the nails). Also it is $35 for regular mani+pedi. I live at the north end of scarborough but will come here because of the quality of service. They offer a week guarantee of satisfaction as well in case of chipping/scratching. I went back once when I felt a few nails were getting dull on the second day and they had no problem applying 2 more top coats for me. I've had nails done here by Reena, Kim, and Sophia, they're all very skilled.

This location used to be in STC and moved here in February..located at the corner of Brimley a d Sheppard in the new medical plaza behind the oriental centre. I walked in at 10am this morning without an appt and I was the first one there...the owner spoke some English as did the nail tech and mandarin. Shellac mani and reg pedi is $55. The pedi: basic...she used a file to remove rough areas...my biggest problem is rough heels and sides of my feet so I asked if she can spend some.more time on those areas. She didn't seem happy with my request...said she already did it and it would get too thin. Okay...fine...ur the boss... It's a very quick pedi...no hot cloth, no scrubbing just a massage..quick polish and done...not a single smile on this lady Then the mani, this was a little better than the pedi...she was a lot more meticulous with the cuticles and shape but it was an unpleasant experience...the technician who I never got a name never smiles (an older chubby middle aged lady), never speaks to u even when I tried to initiate conversations it was 1 word replies so we sat in awkward silence. The nails were okay but for a shellac mani she didn't even use a base coat...once again...no hand scrub or massage just applied cream then a hot towel. Then here's the kicker....I initially had intentions of switching my regular nail place bc this is closer so when I came in I had asked if they did packages like 4 treatments for 100 or something...she's like if u come back we can do 5 dollars off each I'm like oh okay...at the end of the treatment she asked if I was interested I told her no in gonna see how this goes first...she seemed upset..told me its 58 dollars bc they had to remove shellac (my other place doesn't charge), then asked if cash or debit ...I said debit then she put it through and then told me she charges tax with debit..so I said okay fine I have some cash I can do that..she's like I already punched it in....so I'm like that's fine...so I paid 65 dollars for a shitty experience...she tries to give me some card at the end..I just said no thanks u can keep that.

She looked at me and said I definitely could remove them but I don't think that's the best decision. She had told me that it would really damage my nails and make the. Paper thin if she filled all the bio gel off. She gave me another option to just fill down enough of the gel so there was a thin thin coat on my nail and just eventually grow it out. She offered to put a shiny gel coat over top to keep my nails strong for the growing out process. She was very very informative. I am giving one less star because she was busy talking with the other girl the majority of the time when I wanted to ask her more questions.

To be quite honest this salon does not deserve even 1 star. One of the women that was doing my acrylic nails did my nails so horribly like a blind person did it..I never had such disappointment in someone. When she was done doing my nails (before she put the colour on) I told her I did not like it one bit and it looked like a 2 year old did my nails. She got very upset and said "I took my time with you and thought I did a very good job" WELL honey you thought wrong.... When she was drilling it off she burnt me and her and another nail tech was laughing at me when I said ow. That ladies personality was disgusting. I hope they never let her do nails again!
