David came out at 2AM, explained to me why my unit needed replacing and then came out the following Sunday to replace the unit! I have not seen this level of service for many years. I have used David and his crew ever since - they have always been reliable, professional and fair in all of our dealings.

Within just a few hours of a scheduled maintenance visit, I noticed that my home was getting unusually hot. I went into the attic to check and found that one of my HVAC units was no longer working and that water was dripping in an area where it shouldn't have been. I immediately contacted AC Works. They returned, inspected the unit, and told me that the motor had failed. When I asked what could have caused it, I was told that a power surge had blown the motor. Fortunately, I have a Ting electrical monitoring device that continuously monitors electrical activity in my home. I checked the history for the period following the technician's visit, and there was no recorded power surge. Naturally, I questioned the explanation. The unit stopped working only hours after routine maintenance, and the stated reason did not appear consistent with the information available from my electrical monitoring system. I wanted to understand what actually happened. My intention in asking questions was not simply to assign blame. If something went wrong with the system, I need to understand the actual cause so that I can prevent the same failure from happening again. If the cause really was electrical, I would want to address that. If it was mechanical or related to something else, I would want to address that instead. Giving a homeowner an accurate explanation matters because it affects what corrective action should be taken. What disappointed me most was the response when I questioned the power-surge explanation. Instead of addressing my concern with a clear technical explanation, the conversation became defensive, and I was told that I was being rude. Equipment can fail, and mistakes can happen. I can accept that. What I find much harder to accept is an explanation that doesn't appear to match the available evidence, followed by defensiveness when a customer asks reasonable questions about it. After being a customer for a couple of years, I expected transparency and a professional explanation of what actually happened. I am still interested in understanding the true cause--not only because of what happened this time, but because I want to make sure it does not happen again.

I called Joplin's & they sent someone that afternoon. Victor Martinez the service rep came. Victor is Super. He is courteous, friendly and knows his business. He went in the attic and discovered the main drain was clogged. Victor he had to blow it out, and then hook up a vacumn to the drain line under one of our sinks where it drains . Victor spent appx 2 hours cleanding out the drain. No more leaks from the overflow. He also checked the system. All good. I would definitely recommend Joplin's AC and also ask for Victor. He is the best.

I strongly feel that the price they charged me for the R22 refrigerant is way too much, $275 for the first pound and $225 for the succeeding pounds, plus the diagnostic fee. This price is already discounted; the original was higher. I looked up the price online, and the going rate for this refrigerant is $240 for a 5-pound tank. Their service is good, but they charge too much for it.

Our experience with them from first phone call to end project was positive. I called and spoke with Amber. I explained our guest bathroom leaky toilet problem. Amber was professional and friendly. She explained there was an upfront $89 charge for a service technician to come out. The service technician would evaluate and let us know the total cost up front. The morning of the appointment Amber called to let us know Rocky Johnson (Service Technician) with 27 years of experience was on his way. Also received a text & email with Rocky's picture. Rocky arrived on time and was professional and friendly. He assessed the problem and explained what was needed. He was very detailed and patient with our questions before we agreed on the service. Noops with original warranty "received that" part and sent a couple of guys ti install the part in less then 2 hrs. I was billed $1250.00. The next time to use the air conditioner the capacitor in the unit outside went out, Noops tech didn't have the part, had to get it. Just decided to go with a different company. Today the new company showed me that capacitor wasn't secured in the unit just hanging there with no protection from shorting out. After over 20 years I'm done.

The woman in the office was polite and heard me out, the gentleman in the office was not very friendly and a bit rude. I called for a service in the morning earlier in January and was told I would get a call back if someone was available to stop by. I never received that call back where I could ask for service rates but somebody showed up at my door later that morning. They opened my unit up and found no issues, this took all of 25 minutes including the drive over to my house. I politely asked over the phone when I received an invoice for a full 1 hour service call if they would drop it to a half hour and they said they can't, it's policy to charge a full hour minimum for a service call. Well, I was never made aware of policy because I never received a call back to ask any further questions. I went in to speak to someone in person about this and like I said, the woman was very polite. The man in the office said "No, we've been doing it this way for years and we aren't going to change for you." I wrote them a check and left. If I was made aware of the $125 minimum I probably wouldn't have had anyone out due to the nature of my issue or I would have at least been able to agree with the cost. This isn't the way I would treat my local customers, I'll be going anywhere but Baker for my HVAC needs in the future.

Well Bobby T. showed up and gave a pretty reasonable flat-rate estimate to replace two faucets and a toilet. We figured the job would take about 1.5 hours, but it seems that just about everything went south from the beginning - not the least of which were a sketchy original install from the early 1970's and a tub drain not connected. Somewhere around 7 hours later Bobby T. knocked out the job and it all works great AND they stuck with the original price quote. Throughout the entire ordeal Bobby T. was fantastic and communicated what was going on, but most importantly finished the job by doing things right the first time. The artistry of the final result was also pretty fantastic and used a bit more copper than was expected. I would DEFINITELY recommend Brother Plumber to anyone for their workmanship and professionalism.
