This was my daughter's first visit with a friend who frequents La Juicy for their amazing seafood boils. I can't speak to the service and restaurant itself because I wasn't there, but my daughter had no complaints. She ordered shrimp and sausage, mild seasoning. It came with corn and potatoes and she also ordered Cajun fries. She loved it, but couldn't eat it all so she brought some home. Lucky for me, I got to finish her leftovers. Let me just say in a world where restaurant flavor sometimes lacks, this stuff packed w punch! Sooo good! Garlicky, spicy, salty, delicious, and truly juicy! Shrimp does not often reheat well, but I think since it's still in the shell, it reheated beautifully. I'm sure when it was fresh it was even better. The fries were good too. Now that I've sampled that yummy spicy juice, I'll definitely be back for more!

Since approaching the place on a Tuesday afternoon, it's wasn't that busy. Nor was their a line. An order for honey hot wings/salad/toast and a drink was placed by me!! As for the ambience of the place., it's a quick pick up location (sorta like you'd hope for a food vendor or food truck in New Orleans in the Central Business district (aka, the CBD)) so nothing really pops out and can give you an ambience score. And while the shop is still listed as being there, it's operating hours were showing it should be open, and the food truck was in the parking lot, but the door was locked up and nobody was around, so I can't hope for any improvement.. and as such gotta drop it down to 3*'s from the 3.5 it was at.

The label clearly has 8/11-8/15 written on it, and I purchased these on August 19. I immediately called Big Amiee to ask about it. Her son answered the phone and then put her on the phone. I explained that the cheesecake had a date of 8/11-8/15 written on the label and that I had just purchased it on August 19. I was told that the numbers written on the cheesecake were not an expiration date, but numbers used by the business. I'm sorry, but 8/11-8/15 sure looks like a date to me, especially when the cheesecake was sold to me on August 19. If that date has another meaning, I would have appreciated an explanation or some type of documentation showing what it represents. What really disappointed me was the customer service. There was no apology, no offer to replace the cheesecake, and no refund. I simply felt like my concern was dismissed. Mistakes can happen, but how you handle a customer's concern matters. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning. I'll also be posting the picture of the label so everyone can see the date for themselves and make their own judgment.
