For being in the middle of nowhere (or on your way to Bear Lake from Evanston), this place is worth the stop. There isn't much in this town, so the rating takes that into consideration. (In that case, it'd be 5 stars since it's the only game in town.) The staff is friendly, place is clean, and menu has plenty of options for everyone. We came during COVID-19, so every other table was unavailable, but we ended up in the second dining area all by ourselves (6 adults and 2 kids). The chicken tenders were really juicy and onion rings a plenty. I couldn't get over how great the fries were, so much that I'd go out of my way to stop again just for those. Wished that the beef patties were more medium rare, but they had decent flavor. Buns are soft and the toppings fresh.

Formerly "The Gator" and with an equally unfortunate name, this is place is as straightforward as a small town can give. Burgers and fries and ice cream. The inside is fun and well done and was MUCH needed. It is very clean and modern. The pickled asparagus is delicious AND they even have a VEGAN BURGER!!! Their salads are pretty amazing too. Better than what I've found in Garden City. This is AMAZING for such a small town. This is a great place to stop!! Good place good food!

Amazing burger. Love this place. Just a yummy old fashioned burger and onion rings. Grab a fun shake and relax in a small town.

Great food at reasonable prices. Home cut fries. It is a cheaper option if you are going to or coming from Bear Lake.

Bear Lake's Best-Kept Secret (That Apparently Everyone's Mad About?)…read more Let's get something straight: I've eaten at Bear Lake my whole life, and up until now, "dining out" here meant a basket of something fried in oil older than the lake itself. So when I tell you Campfire Grill made me remember what actual food tastes like, understand the weight of the statement. The margherita pizza comes out of the wood-fired oven blistered and glorious--like it's personally trying to make up for decades of regional culinary disappointment. The wedge salad's blue cheese has a faint smoky thing going on, dotted with tiny chives, and tasted like somebody in that kitchen has actually left the county before. And don't get me started on the wings: homemade buffalo sauce, still crispy, and not a hint of gas-station-regret afterward. Add giant open windows that turn the whole dining room into an al fresca reprieve, competent waitstaff, and you've got yourself an actual bona fide restaurant in a place that has subsisted on fry-baskets since one of the Roosevelt administrations. So, to the one-star crowd: I don't know what you were expecting. This isn't Salt Lake City. It's Bear Lake. And for Bear Lake, this is nothing short of miracle work.

I ordered the avocado toast, and it was alright. Pretty blend though. Several of us wanted the biscuits and gravy, but they were out of it. The servers were working very hard though. You could tell they were understaffed and as someone who works in the industry, I knew the stress they were likely under. The setting was really cool. Huge open windows and tons of fresh air and sunlight.

They quickly adjusted seating to fit our large party comfortably, which isn't easy. We really appreciated that. Unfortunately, the food experience was mixed and had some consistent issues that affected most people: * Several meals arrived lukewarm or cold, including a child's Mac-n-Cheese that was straight from the Kraft box and cold. Most of the table reported similar temperature problems. * Our nacho platter with pulled pork was a decent size with good toppings, but the cheese on top wasn't warm at all. The pulled pork was a bit light on portion and average in flavor (though the cheese underneath it was actually warm). * The side salad had some brown lettuce pieces that should have been removed. * The Firecracker Burger was good, but the fries tasted like fish -- likely from being fried in the same oil as the fish & chips. * The chicken panini was lukewarm and felt overpriced for the quality. Most menu items start at $17+, and the value doesn't seem to match the price point. On the positive side, both pizzas (pepperoni and cheese) were a hit with the younger kids -- they really enjoyed them. Edit - the kids said "the pizza dough wasn't really cooked but it was fine" We know running a restaurant is tough, especially with big groups, and the friendly service stood out. With some focus on food temperature, portion consistency, fryer separation, and price-to-value on certain items, Suds could be a much stronger spot. There aren't many restaurant options in the area, so we'd love to see them improve and come back next time we're in town. Thanks again to the team for their efforts.

Was able to sit outside with the dog, they have two picnic tables. Ordered the blue burger and hand cut fries, burger was juicy and cooked well, did not have the homemade burger appearance but was still good, Blue cheese with the fixings. Other meal was the "Blast" a bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato Sandwich that was also good with onion rings that were a tad oily. Dog had a plain burger for $6 and gave a paws up! Had a couple IPA's from a selection of on-tap beer that hit the spot on a warm day. Service was excellent and friendly. Did not go inside so can't speak to the decor but seemed busy, all locals for the most part, always a good sign. Will go back next time in this area.

You know how no one is keeping track of who came in or when? Times 10 here. Not a mask in the place either. No masks on staff or cooks. No wiping up. Filthy. If you go, take alcohol wipes, and wait until afternoon. They should be able to keep up after the brunch lunch crowd finishes. We saw three groups leave disgusted while we were there. It's not the wait time, it's the "I'll be right with you....." and then nothing for an hour and everyone else that came three groups after you is getting their food before your order is even taken. We had to embarrassingly speak to them three times to finally get served, and the first two times, the person asked someone else to come get our order and that person got confused and took someone else's order. Good scone. So go late and be very direct about what you want. Don't let them "give you a minute to look at the menu." Make them wait right there.

The scenery is stunning- surrounded by mountains, trees, wildflowers, and the ranch horses all up in the canyon just a short drive from the city. When I was there they had live music out on the patio stage which was unexpected and fantastic. I ordered the house burger and waffle fries. Not the best burger I have eaten but very good. The waffle fries were a nice novelty and very good. They did not have a kids menu but the staff offered to cook up a custom grilled cheese sandwich, which was perfect. One of the best things on the menu is genuine sun tea - hard to find these days. I also found the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. I asked about the local area and they gave me some great tips. Definitely worth a trip back up the canyon for this one!
