Having have been a New Orleans native, seeing a shack on the side of the road with just ice chests full of the freshest seafood felt like home. My hometown, Chalmette, was a big shrimping community with shrimp boats lining the bayou on the drive into my town. Seeing shrimpers selling off excess shrimp, blue crab, and catfish they caught was the only way o knew to buy fresh seafood. Since then Shrimp Net moved to "brick and mortar" but are still the ice chest service I expect. Highly respectful, acknowledges loyal customers, and the best, freshest seafood available north of I-10. You have a forever customer.

This wait staff collectively just might be the best in the city! Over the years, I have probably been to the Pappas restaurant group of restaurants at least a thousand times. I've been to Humble location a minimum of 50 times. Why it stands out, is how Cari, Erika, Kiki, Audrey and Kevin pay attention to there tables, how they remember their customers greet them even when they are not sitting in their station, how they remember the things you like and don't like. Tells you about things off the menu shhhhh. A big shoutout to a group that goes above and beyond!

We eat here very often, mostly to-go but the food tastes even better dining inside. Everything that was ordered was fresh, cooked perfectly and seasoned well! I tried the Brie & Jumbo Lump Crab Spinach Dip for the first time on this visit and wow!! Definitely will be added into the rotation, so good! I personally ordered the Rainbow Trout & Shrimp and again, no complaints, just tasty! We had an amazing server who was patient, answered all questions, was kind and attentive! I definitely recommend Pappas Seafood House, you won't regret it!

With more than 420 stores in Texas and Mexico, the H-E-B grocery company is the fifth largest (by…read morerevenue) privately owned company in the U.S. It was founded in 1905 in Kerryville, Texas and became H-E-B when a successful 2nd store was launched in Del Rio, Texas, using the initials of the owner, Howard Edward Butt. I've experienced their take home Texas barbeque a couple of times, and was excited when my brother let me know that his local H-E-B had a Bayou Boil House (not all do), serving up Louisiana Crawfish boils during the weekend. The stand is located at the front entrance of the store where the carts are located (similarly where a hot dog stand would be if in a Midwestern store). It is manned by two H-E-B employees, with coolers stocked with the already cooked seafood and vegetables. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived an hour before closing (closing at 6pm), they were out of crawfish (would have been $6.97 per pound). Instead we got shrimp (headless and deveined, shell-on for $12.97 per pound), with corn and potatoes ($2.97 per pound), sausage ($7.97 per pound). Snow Crab would have been $16.97, though I never think it is worth it. It is all mixed together in a large durable plastic bag. We brought it back home, and I ended up eating it for dinner and the following breakfast. Everything was really good: nothing was overcooked (i.e. mealy or mushy), the sausage was a good andouille, and the old bay type seasoning was just right. They could definitely elevate it up a couple of notches if replicating a Viet-Cajun sauce, that is very popular in the Houston area. But as it is, definitely a winner...along with their Texas brisket, makes me wish an H-E-B was visitable from where we live.

Food A+ Service A+…read moreAmbiance F The food was really good, service was really good. The space LOOKED good & seemed clean but it smelt HORRIBLE. Like a dirty mop. Idk of you've ever worked the service industry or cleaned RR, but that's a very distinct smell. (Imagine cleaning your bathroom with nice soap that smells good & someone urinates in the middle of that.) Not a good 1st impression. Stink & food don't mix. Stick & Hibatchi don't mix. My nose isn't usually sensitive, durian fruit in an asian mart don't even phase me but that did. They tried to air place out, but still you could smell it a little. Other wise it was nice; very spacious yet cozy so it could accommodate both big & small groups. I loved the different fish set ups & decor. The light up ceiling was my favorite!! I ordered the Bamboo & Hot Mama rolls, they were really good. I was full after that, they have really good tea too. I may come back if in area again to see if smell was just 1x offense.

It was all Asian inspired so sushi, sashimi, traditional Chinese foods. The wide variety was well thought out. There were some items that were inedible but that's expected for a buffet of this size, just chuck it and keep going. We had 4 rounds of trying different foods all for $22.99 per person. Would recommend.

My favorite part was the sushi. We went on the weekend so the all day price came to about $24 a person after taxes. It's worth it for the quality of the food. When I say there was a lot to choose from, I mean it. Haha. It is cheaper during the weekday lunch but some of the options (such as the crab I believe) are not an option for the weekday lunch pricing. We went as a group of 3 and everyone left happy with the experience. I'm not a huge buffet girl myself but if I want to go to one, I will definitely be back to Buffetopia.

Unfortunately, I shouldn't have ignored the average reviews, as this is what it turned out to be. I had lunch at Bambi House this last Friday for the first time. I was disappointed for a couple of reasons: my Orange chicken was basically mostly tempura and very thin slices of chicken. I had purchased the orange chicken, which was $9.85, with egg fried rice. The chicken was average in flavor, but as I mentioned before, the chicken was in thin slices; therefore, I mostly had tempura drowned in the orange chicken sauce. The fried rice was bland in flavor. Honestly, I agree: half and the re w the rest away. Admittedly, all of the 5-star reviews I read praised the duck, so perhaps that's what they're really good at. Unfortunately, I will probably never be back, because thin slices of chicken don't meet my expectations.
