    Big Crawfish!
    Hayley J.

Every year around this time a need awakens inside of me, that need....is CRAWFISH! I'm crazy for the little mudbugs, I can eat them till my heart's content & never get tired of them since they are seasonal. For the past couple of weeks I've been driving to Crosby (I will go to any lengths for good crawfish) to get my fill, since they are made perfectly there (I like them very spicy) & they had what I thought at the time to be the best around. Last night the craving once again hit me (nope I'm not Prego, I checked), not wanting to drive all the way out there and deal with the construction I decided to go to a place I've pasted by many times but never stopped for some reason, Crawfish Connection on 1960. This changed everything! They we're so BIG & spiced just the way I like them $4.95/lb. and they come with potatoes, I myself don't like the potatoes but they we're GOOD! Crawfish Connection has a new place in my heart & stomach!

This place is always busy so we you think it must be really good...well not for us. Although it's convenient but it missed the flavor profile we are used to. I thought it was dry no spice to it. Only two things I would say are good is the ambiance and BYOB.

Although living in atascocita forever, we just recently decided to try it. We love it. Great environment and the food for the most part is delicious and reasonably priced. I've been ordering the boiled shrimp with the butter sauce and I have no complaints! My friend ordered the crawfish and noticed a lot of loose claws big and small with little to no meat and wondered how much of that added to his pound. It's BYOB and we didn't have a cooler so they offered their walk in which was great, but very questionable. The biggest complaint I have which is why I gave 4 stars is we noticed a man, possibly the cook, in the kitchen smoking. He also came out and was cleaning the eating areas still smoking. That's all, we will still go back!

Good GOD this place is amazing. Juicy crawfish. I need a bib next time!

The juiciest crawfish I've ever eaten. I mean, juice squirting out of the body, tail and claws. Flavorful, a nice amount of spice, not too overwhelming. Pretty damn affordable. Good size. This very well may be my go to crawfish spot in the future, weather pending. I say weather pending because it's outside/outdoor seating. I'm not a fan of the heat but today was pretty mild so other than shooing away flying pests, this was an over all nice, quiet experience! BYOB!

It's a low key outdoor eatery. We had the boiled crab, shrimp and crawfish. Seasoned to perfection. The corn was juicy and tasty. They give you a nice portion of butter. Sausage was extra but we added it too. Sausage was good. It's also BYOB. A must try.

    Delicious food at Crawfish Connection!

Got 7lbs of trash last night, crawfish were terrible and dry. A waste of money and time, no seasoning at all

I drove by the other day and it looks like it had been torn down. Are you guys not selling crawfish anymore?

We had to move because of the construction on 1960. We are located at 2020 N Houston Ave

With more than 420 stores in Texas and Mexico, the H-E-B grocery company is the fifth largest (by…read morerevenue) privately owned company in the U.S. It was founded in 1905 in Kerryville, Texas and became H-E-B when a successful 2nd store was launched in Del Rio, Texas, using the initials of the owner, Howard Edward Butt. I've experienced their take home Texas barbeque a couple of times, and was excited when my brother let me know that his local H-E-B had a Bayou Boil House (not all do), serving up Louisiana Crawfish boils during the weekend. The stand is located at the front entrance of the store where the carts are located (similarly where a hot dog stand would be if in a Midwestern store). It is manned by two H-E-B employees, with coolers stocked with the already cooked seafood and vegetables. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived an hour before closing (closing at 6pm), they were out of crawfish (would have been $6.97 per pound). Instead we got shrimp (headless and deveined, shell-on for $12.97 per pound), with corn and potatoes ($2.97 per pound), sausage ($7.97 per pound). Snow Crab would have been $16.97, though I never think it is worth it. It is all mixed together in a large durable plastic bag. We brought it back home, and I ended up eating it for dinner and the following breakfast. Everything was really good: nothing was overcooked (i.e. mealy or mushy), the sausage was a good andouille, and the old bay type seasoning was just right. They could definitely elevate it up a couple of notches if replicating a Viet-Cajun sauce, that is very popular in the Houston area. But as it is, definitely a winner...along with their Texas brisket, makes me wish an H-E-B was visitable from where we live.

This place has made it's rounds on social media which is how I discovered it. It is way out in…read moreHumble so when I found myself in the area, I made sure to make stopping here a priority. I came with some friends for dinner on a Saturday and this place was packed. It's tucked away in the middle of a shopping strip and the parking lot isn't that big. That being said, parking sucks. What they do offer that I haven't ever seen at a Chinese buffet is valet parking. I made a quick drive around the parking lot and decided to valet to save time. The young gentleman parking cars solo did a great job and works on tips. You pay what you want. They have a pretty large waiting area which we luckily didn't have to utilize. We got seated right away, but soon after, the waiting area filled up. The space inside is huge with lots of seating. They have neon lights and TVs everywhere which is a step up from your regular buffets. In the center is the buffet area with different stations and is very organized and clean. Customer service was good. Our plates never stacked up at the table and our drinks never went empty. The big draw here is the seafood portion of the buffet. I love crab legs but I don't like the work involved to eat it. Unlike other buffets where people pounce the minute the staff put it out, here they keep it well stocked and no ones fighting to get their share. I prefer my crab legs steamed and warm, but here they are served cold. I turned my focus to the huge seafood selection and sushi. They have shrimp and fish in all kinds of different preparations and I gotta say, everything tasted great. They also have a hot pot and hibachi section along with your regular Chinese food buffet offerings. I don't know if it's because I don't frequent Chinese buffets often, but here, I liked everything I tried and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. They also have a nice dessert station and even have slushie station for the kiddos. The best part of it all is the price tag is just a little over 20 bucks. You definitely get your money's worth here. I think there is something for everyone here. It's a shame it's so far from where I live. Buffetopia is definitely the best Chinese buffet in Houston.

We weren't even seated yet and she was already asking what we wanted to drink. I'm thinking uhm can we at least sit down first?? She seemed very impatient. My mom sat down first and pointed out that the table was dirty. She responded back by telling her "it's part of the table ma'am". My mom then pulled out a napkin and wiped it to show her that no...the table was actually dirty. We asked to move to a different table and she grabbed our silverware and flung it on the next table over and again asked for drink orders. We all were very confused at the attitude bc what is wrong with asking to sit at a diff table bc the other one is dirty?? If I was by myself, I honestly would've just left and went somewhere else to eat, but bc I was with family, I didn't want to make it a big deal. As for the food, they did have a lot of options. Everything was flavored nicely, but not everything was hot. I also wasn't a fan of the prepackaged ice cream cups so we went elsewhere for dessert. Some of the bathroom stalls were dirty too. Overall our experience here just okay. The poor customer service alone was enough to make me not want to come back.
