Having have been a New Orleans native, seeing a shack on the side of the road with just ice chests full of the freshest seafood felt like home. My hometown, Chalmette, was a big shrimping community with shrimp boats lining the bayou on the drive into my town. Seeing shrimpers selling off excess shrimp, blue crab, and catfish they caught was the only way o knew to buy fresh seafood. Since then Shrimp Net moved to "brick and mortar" but are still the ice chest service I expect. Highly respectful, acknowledges loyal customers, and the best, freshest seafood available north of I-10. You have a forever customer.

I've experienced their take home Texas barbeque a couple of times, and was excited when my brother let me know that his local H-E-B had a Bayou Boil House (not all do), serving up Louisiana Crawfish boils during the weekend. The stand is located at the front entrance of the store where the carts are located (similarly where a hot dog stand would be if in a Midwestern store). It is manned by two H-E-B employees, with coolers stocked with the already cooked seafood and vegetables. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived an hour before closing (closing at 6pm), they were out of crawfish (would have been $6.97 per pound). Instead we got shrimp (headless and deveined, shell-on for $12.97 per pound), with corn and potatoes ($2.97 per pound), sausage ($7.97 per pound). Snow Crab would have been $16.97, though I never think it is worth it. It is all mixed together in a large durable plastic bag. We brought it back home, and I ended up eating it for dinner and the following breakfast. Everything was really good: nothing was overcooked (i.e. mealy or mushy), the sausage was a good andouille, and the old bay type seasoning was just right. They could definitely elevate it up a couple of notches if replicating a Viet-Cajun sauce, that is very popular in the Houston area. But as it is, definitely a winner...along with their Texas brisket, makes me wish an H-E-B was visitable from where we live.

I was reading some of the reviews of the CRAWFISH CONNECTION in 1960E Humble, TX and some good and some are decent. Let me tell you about my horrible story from this place and this involves the owners first hand not just employees but owners. I went to buy a 35 lbs. live crawfish at this place on Friday March 27th 2015. TX. We I came home I started washing the crawfish and I notice that 90% of what I bought was dead/not alive. I called them back to complain and they told that I have go back and show them the crawfish which I did(even though 10 miles one way). John one of the owner of this place(which is not a customer oriented person but a profiling person) because first thing he does and look at me and since I'm Asian he thinks that he can just accuse and I will just accept it, The first thing he accuse me is it that I purge it with sat and cause the crawfish die(which I did not do). The other owner I did not get his name gave me is the sheet of paper to lecture me how crawfish die if they are purge(very defensive). So why do have a sheet of paper that let people know how crawfish dies when its purge with salt. That's strange, unless you are selling dead crawfish all the time and you are just using this sheet of paper to cover yourself from the complains. If you are confident that your product is fresh with good quality then why do have this piece of paper. Which means they always get this kinds of complaints. News flash to the owners of this place, the other store that sell crawfish in Atascocita their crawfish is very much alive and even though you purge it they don't kill the crawfish right away. Which I can prove with the videos I have. The second accusation from John was if I return the whole thing. Which really ticks me off because first you accuse me of purging and now they accuse me of stealing. Why would I feed my family dead crawfish that what I told him. The second owner said that he will make it right by giving me a new sack . I told him that the only way to make this right is give my money back which he did. These are the kind of people who manage this place, who does not know how to apologize to their customers but profile them and accuse them of something that is totally false. I wish the Houston Department of Health and Human Services(HDHHS) would go this this place and see what these guys are doing. For the customers who are eating/buying cooked crawfish in this place, you need to ask yourself am I eating fresh crawfish or it is just covered with crawfish mix that why you think it good and fresh. read more

Was there today for lunch , a man was so drunk he threw up , pissed himself and shit himself to . Cops came and stayed there for a hour . In the meantime I'm trying to have a pleasant lunch . It's run by an old couple who are just as kind and down to earth as they come. They work out of a old travel trailer with a make-shift shed built onto the back. They use to be closer to the river and some maps still put them there but they are actually on 90 closer to 146. They usually have huge shrimps, head on and off, sometimes have crabs and oysters and crawfish when in season. I love going to their little shack and buying from local, hard working business owners. PROS: Everything is VERY fresh! Prices are VERY reasonable! CONS: Not much.
