I was warmly welcomed when I entered and I mentioned I was there for the art and to discover new stores. The store was larger than I expected with many varieties of olive oil and you are able to taste test them before you buy. Besides the olive oil, there were sauces, spices, popcorn and other items. I don't know enough about olive oils so I found some cheese corn to snack on. But if you are looking for high quality oils, this is the place to shop.

I love that you can sample but it's a little hard with the oil. I recommend some oyster crackers or something. I love the quality and the products, but the lady working was a curveball. She was nice but seemed rushed to answer questions. When we would ask about one she would be like "I don't like that one." Well that's okay, but I expected her to be like "I don't like this one because I don't like truffles, but I really love the leek one." It was like several we asked about she was just like "I don't like it." Weird but whatever lol. We still ended up buying several things. The Sicilian lemon vinegar is to die for!

I recently coordinated the food for our company's annual summit. We have staff from across the…read morecountry come to New Bern to work together in person to brainstorm, socialize, and engage in professional development. This year, there were 13 of us, sharing multiple meals together. Everyone in our New Bern office loves Gemelli's. We order lunch there often, but have never had any kind of catering done. I went in during lunch, thinking I would just grab a menu for their catering and be on my way. Matteo took the time to talk to me about their offerings and put together a spread with a lot of variety and great flavors. We had two sandwich trays and a large salad. We picked the items up from the store, and they were neatly packaged and organized, with all the condiments on the side (to keep the sandwiches from getting soggy). The staff even helped us get everything out to the car so we didn't have to make multiple trips. They also provided a wide variety of chips on the side. Everything from the bread to the vegetables was fresh and delicious! The variety was great, and exposed us to some sandwiches none of us had ordered before. Several staff members who had not had the sandwiches before commented that they think these are the best sandwiches in New Bern. While there is no question that we will continue to order lunch from Gemelli's, they will definitely feature prominently on our list of places to order catered meals from.

They complained about not being told we wanted to order, when we were standing next to the register. Complained when my friend paid with cash to his face. And as we were leaving they started complaining about having to say it twice, when we don't have to respond in the first place. The night crew at this restaurant are rude and have no sense of decency. They are disrespectful and lack customer service care.

We stopped for lunch here on our way home from a beach getaway weekend. The prices were very…read morereasonable, and the food was ready quickly despite the line. There is a lot of seating available outside on picnic tables with umbrellas for shade (there are also tables inside). I got the vegetarian wrap, but in order to make the vegan I did ask for it without the pesto cream cheese, which meant it was rather bland. Unfortunately, the only other potentially vegan option was their beyond burger. However, they didn't carry any vegan cheese or vegan sauces (aside from ketchup), which was disappointing. In the future I think I would get the beyond burger anyway, as it would at the very least have some protein. Everyone else in my party seemed quite happy with their meals, so likely their non-vegan food is great. Their coffee was also pretty good (and they had oat milk & almond milk available as cows milk alternatives). I will say, the marinated cucumbers were fantastic, and again, the prices were great. Just wish that they had at least one menu item which was fully vegan without modifications. Maybe a hummus wrap?

The salad is fresh and crisp, and that dressing is just so good. It's one of those things you can't stop eating. The lasagna is always amazing -- rich, cheesy, and consistently satisfying every time. The Tour of Italy is also really good if you want a little bit of everything. And the Alfredo has a really nice, creamy flavor without being too heavy. Overall, it's consistently great food with comforting flavors and plenty of options. Definitely a five-star experience.
