I have used Craven Construction for three jobs, all of which involved different roofing materials. One was a carport roof that required the installation of a new plywood deck and a mineral cap sheet. The second was a complete home re-roof project with asphalt shingles. The third was a re-roof project with new concrete tile. In each case, they performed the work quickly and professionally to my complete satisfaction. The most amazing one was the tile roof. They literally started and finished the project in two days, including final cleanup. As a former commercial general building contractor, I feel Craven takes great pride in its work and I recommend that anyone with roofing needs contact them for an honest inspection and a competitive proposal. read more

I contacted New Roof AZ for quotes on work for my rentals and my primary home. When the email reply came in, I realized the company is owned by Randy Craven. I've had professional interactions with him dating back to around 2012, and I made the decision years ago to stop doing business with him after multiple incidents where he spoke to me and my staff in a belittling and unprofessional manner. Because of that history, I chose not to move forward with New Roof AZ. Respectful communication matters to me, especially when trusting a contractor with significant projects. Paid a lot of money for a roof replacement that unfortunately came with a 10 year warranty. During the initial replacement they didn't do a good job and in the first storm leaked into my home. I was told by Randy Craven that the damage to the inside of my home was not his problem. I was on my own. I had to file a complaint with ROC to get it fixed. Fast forward a year, we are already have issues. The metal eve was coming up in one section and the foam has already started cracking. Randy stood in my yard for 2 minutes, took a pic of the metal eve and said it was storm damage and he wasn't going to fix anything. He didn't even get his fat a$$ up on the roof to look at the cracking. I told him I was going to file another ROC complaint and this time I want to sue him to breach of contract. We hired Randy ( Craven Construction) to replace a foam roof on my building . We spend about $75k to get a new roof . Randy left the roof exposed when we had a storm causing over $650k in damages . That was not a smart thing to do as a roofer. Roofers 101. The rain washed a way the coating he applied to the roof . My roof have been leaking every time we have a rain and it is worse than before . Randy send some kids to check it after weeks from us calling and text messaging him . Bad service . Randy would never plam himself or admit that he made a mistake , He will plam everything else . I would not do business with him , bad service and more importantly bad Morales. read more

Our home, being 28 years old, was due for a new roof (tile). We selected Craven as their price was comparable to others while using the best underlayment material. They completed the job in three days for our 2800 sq ft, 2 story. They sent out a crew of 5-6, working 6am to 6pm in the horrendous heat and cleaned up immaculately each day. Great job and when I wanted one minor thing changed, they were out the next day to make the change. Special shout out to Chandler. He called me every day to ensure I was satisfied. I needed my shingle roof replaced due to hail and wind damage plus it was 22 years old. The inspector/adjustor from my insurance company came out and did a detailed written evaluation so I had a good idea what I needed before asking roofing companies for estimates. I requested estimates from 3 companies including Craven and two others which were large companies recommended by Rosie on the House. The other two companies provided such poor service initially that I decided not to follow through with them. I had called Craven because a woman in my neighborhood had them replace her roof last year and she was very satisfied with them. Randy came out 3 days later and showed up on time as scheduled. They thought they would be able to schedule the work within 3 weeks but as it turned out they had one crew who had completed another job early and said that if I wished, they could start on my roof in two days. The crew that came out was knowledgable and experienced. The only variable on the estimate was for underlayment which they can't see until they strip the old roof off but they did say that if plywood was damaged it would cost $70 additional for each sheet that needed to be replaced. As it turned out only one had water damage so that was in line with what my insurance adjustor had told me. They used quality materials (Owens Corning) and the job was done on time at the cost they had quoted. Overall, they did a great job and I would recommend them. read more

Craven construction was terrific. I was referred by a friend. I called 3 other companies 1 had prices SKY HIGH and took 2 weeks to get the estimate. 1 company did not show up after 2 tries. I called Randy and he went to my house same day sent a quote. Reasonable and had a good product. Crew was friendly and kept the place picked up daily and spotless when they were done! I hired them to replace my awning, Randy said it was so expensive because they used the best quality parts and had a special technique in sealing it. It sounded like a scam at that part but they had such amazing reviews. The last day of work randy said just give his crew the rest of the money and they'd come back and finish the final details the next day. It was a lie they never came back, But he cashed that check real fast. I had had to put my fence back up that they tore down to make it easier for themselves to put up the awning. The drain spouts are still laying in the grass and there is no sealing on the roof or awning, no flashing, nothing. I have tried and failed multiple times to get a hold of Randy. His phone just goes to voice mail every time I call. I've left several messages on his phone with no reply. If you hire them be wary, don't listen to Randy, don't believe a single thing he tells you, and don't pay them until you have looked over the job and seen it was finished for yourself. read more

Stay as far away as you can from this company. I had a complete roof failure not even 6 months after he resurfaced my flat roof the end of April 2019! March 2019 - saw a pinhole leak in a covered patio (winter/spring rains) husband and Randy said there was a tiny amount of seam lift on a 7 year old resurface with recoating every 3 years. - Decided to resurface again even though Randy said the roof was in good condition with no underlayment issues. April 2019 - work completed and paid for. New Tytex layers and layer sealing. Sept 2019 - Put house up for sale to move out of state. My good friend jumped on the chance to buy my fully remodeled home. - Her inspection revealed roof issues- seams lifting and not sealed properly; called Randy and he sent someone out. Buyer and I were told it was taken care of and buyers on site when he was there. - Sale closed first week of October. - Rain storms is late Oct revealed staining sheetrock - rain damage on a new ceiling and insulation! (redone in 2013). - Called Randy and he said my 5 year warranty did not pass to new owner and we had a long discussion. He finally agreed to come out and "fix" the roof. The new owner never said if he appeared. - Thanksgiving weekend heavy rains. Her roof failed in the bedroom. Water dripping from ceiling. Randy said his warranty did NOT cover the inside of the house only the roof. At that point new owner had to hire people to remove dripping sheetrock, saturated, dripping insulation, and wet existing carpet (all only 6 years old). She hired a roofing companycshe trusted and they came out to say Randy's work was not done well and many seams were lifting and needed to be redone. So she needed to resurface and repair again! END STORY: My friend is out thousands on inside repairs and roof replacement. I am out the $4000 I paid for a resurfaced roof with a 5- year warranty. I do not have a refund from Randy, so I cannot help her. We are still talking though. Randy's work was terrible as stated by the inspection issues and the second roofing company. I cannot report to the Registrar on Contractors since I no longer am the home owner. So I am on YELP and the BBB site trying to save others from thousands of wasted dollars on a crappy job by a fly by night small business and a warranty that is not worth the paper it is written on. read more

Was here on time got the old roof very quickly and got the roof ready for shingles it was really windy that day went around and cleaned up area. The next day the shingles went on pretty quickly and again they cleaned the area up. Hard to beat there price and workmanship. read more

I contacted this company and asked if they did roof repairs. I spoke with Kari. I live in a condo association with 12 one-story villas. I explained that we needed our roofs sealed in numerous places and needed someone to come out, look at the roofs and provide a quote by email. I also asked if they could do the job four units at a time. Kari said they could. However, they sent out Tyler, a "sales" person, rather than a project manager, and without even inspecting the roof he "looked up" at one roof from the ground and said we needed new roofs. No inspection, no nothing. I was irate and called him on the fact that he didn't even climb onto the roofs yet and I had specifically called for someone to determine what needed to be sealed and provide a bid. He said he didn't think the company would do that kind of work. Apparently, they were only out to try to force people into getting new roofs whether they needed them or not! What a bunch of third-rate sales people. Would not recommend these guys to anyone because they don't listen to your needs and will likely try to force you into doing something you don't want or need done. read more
