Today I had the privilege of experiencing Cutiepies for the first time and it did not disappoint!…read more Let me start off with the email interaction I've had with Marc, who is the founder of this company. He came right out and walked my order to my car and was so pleasant and personable. He shared with me his family's story about how these bite sized, individual pies came to be, and how him and his family take great pride in these pies and the family recipe. I sampled all their flavors and they were pretty fantastic. The lemon merengue was an instant favorite - the lemon had a punch full of flavor but not overpowering at all. The fruit tart was just a great balance of fruit flavor with the custard. The heavenly chocolate with Andes mints is a fantastic one to try as it's a seasonal one, but perfect for the holiday season. The coconut cream was an instant hit with just the right amount of sweetness. And the crust - wow, it's spot on that compliments every flavor of these bite sized little heavens-in-your-mouth. Overall, these miniature pies are the way to go for wanting a taste of every flavor of pie - without having to have a slice of a regular sized pie. Plus, in my opinion, it's more fun to eat, share with someone, or just to be able to give yourself a treat anytime.

We've loved everything we've ordered from Cutie Pie Tarts. In the order of love: Berries and cream,…read morelemon meringue, chocolate cream with butterfinger, pumpkin, chocolate cream with mint, and coconut cream.

OMG... was this awesome! I was looking specifically for a…read morepatissarie, somewhere very likely to have Almond Croissant and found them. They open at 9:00, not 8:00 as shown on the website. We go in, I ask for an Almond Croissant, expecting the size you see at other places, then inquire about something like ham and cheese, yep, so asked for one, and a Cappuccino. It'd be a few minutes for the ham and cheese, but they box up my wife's two slices of bread and my other croissant and we wait. Heading for the freeway I open the bag and start on my savory croissant. A half hour later and I ask for the Almost Croissant. "OMG... They are too pretty to eat, I have to take a picture first!" She hands me the largest Almond Croissant I have ever seen! The flavor was as imlressive as the size. Next time we are n the area, we are definitely going back, but I'll only get the Almond Croissant, it's all I'll need!

We have eaten at the Gourmandise location in American Fork many times. Always good, sometimes…read moreexceptional. Not so with this location in Draper this one time. There were probably 20 diners at this location at 4-5 tables at 2:00 PM on a Sunday. I counted about 10-12 employees. The wait for everything seemed a little too long for the employee/diner ratio. The food was just OK. The brisket sandwich was very dry and pulled, like pulled pork, but without any juices. I know it's not a smokehouse and they likely just order overcooked roasted brisket from Cisco or something, but when you order a brisket sandwich for $14, there are expectations. Ordered coffee with lunch. Waiter brought two coffees and a small container of cream. Asked to refill about halfway through. Brought coffees and no cream. So I asked again. Then about 5 minutes later I asked again. Then I watched our waiter go into the open kitchen area and lean against a counter and chat and laugh with two other staff for 5 minutes. I stood up and walked toward him and he saw me. He broke with the group, came out and said, "Sorry, I had to do something in the back." Very mediocre experience overall. Not what I expected based on previous experiences at the other location. Also, noisy dining room, no solid buffering insulation in the ceiling. Cafeteria-like experience.

With the Utah Cookie Wars heating up between Crave, Crumbl, and Dirty Dough, I thought it would be…read morefun to test all of the competition to see which cookies I personally enjoyed the best. I really wanted to love my cookies at Crave, and I visited twice over the last couple of months to give them a try. They're good cookies, but not the best. Both times I visited, the store was absolutely empty. They change their cookie menu weekly, and this week's menu was very appealing. One thing I noted is that every one of their cookies with the exception of the classic chocolate chip was stuffed with some sort of mass-produced sweet. Peanut butter cookies were stuffed with Reeses style cups, the Chocolate cookie was stuffed with what tasted like storebought cheesecake, the Samoa cookie was literally topped with a Girl Scout Cookie, and the Scotcheroo was filled with a Rice Krispie Treat. This made all of the cookies taste far from homemade. They were SO sweet that I barely could eat a few bites. I love sweets, but the fake flavors were just gross. The worst cookie of the bunch was a Strawberry cookie. It had a sour tasting strawberry cream topping that was day-glo pink! Extremely unappetizing. It was topped with a thick whipped cream that made the entire thing soggy and unappealing. I have never thrown out a cookie before, but it was really, really gross. Into the garbage it went. The best cookie was the traditional chocolate chip, and I would've loved the Oreo cookie if it hadn't had the yucky, gummy cheesecake inside. The cookies were slightly underdone and reminded me so much of Gideon's Bakehouse in Orlando, that same sort of yummy, sugary, raw dough texture. I gave Crave two chances and I was less than impressed on both of my visits. The employees were so nice and friendly, but they selected my cookies out of a warming tray. I didn't smell any fresh baked cookies and no baking was going on, just already made cookies sitting there getting dried out. They were served to me warm, however. There are much better cookies out there, and I just prefer all-natural ingredients or at least freshly baked cookies.

Utah doesn't lack for cookie places-and Crave is another one to add to the list. It's similar to…read moreall the others-rotating menu with an over the top box that the staff opens to show you your giant, doughy cookies inside. It's not that it's a bad thing it's just....not unique. I'd love to see one of these places do something different. If you're unfamiliar, you can buy individual cookies or multiple-but they are giant and you'll be lucky to finish just one. They are served warm and pair nicely with milk or you can get a sugary soda drink. The service here was terrific. The young man at the cash register overheard my conversation and knew just what we wanted when we approached him. I do like that there are tables so you can eat your treats there.
