We got our company anniversary cake here, a rush job ordered one week ahead after our original…read morevendor (booked two months out) backed out last minute. We were charged a $50 rush fee. We asked for coconut cake, vanilla buttercream, lime curd filling, heart-shaped, with an image on top and some written piping. We picked it up and the frosting looked great, but the top isn't what we asked for. We say something; the person working goes in the back and calls someone. She comes back and says they couldn't get the piping to look good, so they decided to print the whole top as an image instead, and if we had questions to email. We were both shocked they made that call without consulting us. We email, say we weren't happy with the look, and that we'd consider it resolved if they refunded the rush fee, which they did. Their reply said they hadn't realized the piping was a hard requirement, and that on short notice they'd made the call to print it with the logo instead, for ease and to stay close to the inspo image. Worth noting: we'd confirmed the piping twice, once in the initial order, and again the weekend before, to make sure it was doable. So why they decided it wasn't important is anyone's guess. I'm of the opinion that using a rush as an excuse only works if you don't charge for the rush. If they can't fulfill a rush order as specified, they shouldn't take it, or they should at least call, at which point I'd have given them several options (including just doing a plain cake) before printing the entire top. It looked extremely cheap. Then came time to actually eat it: embarrassingly, no one at the party finished their slice. Off texture, no coconut flavor, and the lime curd was overwhelming. I do want to highlight that the exterior frosting was really good, but the inside just wasn't. Combined with the unprofessional, cheap-looking top, this was an extremely embarrassing experience for me as the person who coordinated and presented it to the company. They did refund us that $50, so I didn't want to email again, even though we were unhappy with the entire experience. I couldn't in good conscience recommend a custom cake from Alisha's for a future event, though it seems we are an outlier and I know they do better work than this.

The restaurant is cute with several kinds of donuts, yummy tasty desserts, fresh bread, cinnamon rolls and cookies as well as some cute retail purchases like towels, hats, postcards etc, At 7pm I was quite surprised how many donuts were still left on the shelf in an open shelf system behind the counter. Another thing that was a huge turnoff was as the amount of gnats flying around. My guess is there is rotting food near the booths we were sitting in. The weather is cold, doors weren't wide open so something was attracting them. Restroom was clean and a small but decent sized parking lot.

I had a frustrating experience at Cold Stone Creamery on November 23rd around 8pm. Maddie and another employee were working, and both were inattentive and unprofessional. Maddie took our order, but she was rude and kept asking us to repeat ourselves. She also muttered things under her breath, which was uncomfortable. The other worker, who was handling the register, had chocolate all over his fingers and wasn't paying attention. Along with our ice cream, we ordered a Peanut Butter Finger and a Milk Oreo, but he rang us up for two candy apples--something we never ordered. The total came to $29, which seemed off, and when we pointed out the mistake, Maddie said it would take a long time to get a refund because she needed to call a manager. We were stuck with an incorrect order and no manager in sight, so we just settled for the candy apples to avoid further delays. To make matters worse, Maddie threw away our receipt, so we couldn't even check the charges. The issue was never resolved, and we were left with a mistake-filled order that we didn't want. The ice cream itself is fine, but the poor service and lack of accountability make it very unlikely I'll return. read more

Two single scoops came to $9.68, which is reasonable compared to similar spots and worth it for the quality. You can also grab pints to take home if you want to stock the freezer. Now for the quirks. The standard serving method is a scoop in a cup with a sugar cone placed on top rather than the ice cream scooped into the cone itself. It sounds like a small thing until you are actually eating it and realize the experience is genuinely different. Same elements, different result. It is a presentation choice that nobody asked for and one worth reconsidering. The seating situation needs attention too. There are a few tables inside and several outside, but only one umbrella on what can be a brutally sunny summer day in Pleasant Grove. More pressing is the trash container sitting just steps from the entrance next to the parking space. The smell on a warm day is noticeable and unwelcoming for a place built around sitting outside and enjoying a treat. Simple, clean, and traditional inside. The ice cream earns your visit.
