I really enjoyed the American cuisine here--great food and a nice atmosphere overall…read more I ordered the French onion soup and the Reuben eggrolls. The French onion soup seems to be popular here, and as soon as I saw that buttery-looking pastry puff baked on top, I knew I had to order it! It was definitely hearty, with plenty of onions (which I love). However, it was a bit saltier than I prefer. I do wish there were an option to substitute the onion soup with a chowder, like clam or corn chowder. The Reuben eggrolls were surprisingly good! I'm used to traditional Asian eggrolls, so I really liked this creative twist. The house-smoked pastrami, sauerkraut, and melted Gruyère cheese worked so well together. They tasted amazing with the spicy Russian dipping sauce (which I appreciated wasn't too spicy). It was such a flavorful and memorable dish! I'm glad I gave it a try.

He loved the bread said he was able to eat it without having to tear it with his teeth , some hoagies are tough , this wasn't just nice and soft . The meat was tender, not fatty and but held together such as you could dip it without having a giant mass of meat inside the sauce, it was actually in the sandwich you could dip it, eat it, but it was soft enough that you could eat it. Was loud inside and cold. Our waiter was so nice , up until he walked up my husband wanted to leave . Cause people that came in after us were being offered water and no one had said anything to us . I am gluten free, there wasn't much attention given to my food allergy. But I can manage and know how to protect myself. The waiter wrote down my food allergy but didn't seem to pay it any mind

Super patient with us, answered all of our questions, made recommendations, and very attentive. Will ask for her again. The menu was a cornucopia of drinks and eats that sound amazing. We had the pimento cheese spread, two orders of the chicken fried steak and two orders of redfish. Everything was spectacular. We can't wait to go try other items on the menu. While waiting for our table we wondered up to the 3rd floor. They had live music. The place was jumping up there. We are going to have to look up who is going to be playing and have another married date night. The only downside to the evening was unfortunately the host at the front door. He was rude and severely lacking in communication skills. If anything else had me "meh" I would have taken stars away but everything else made up for his shortcomings.

Once seated we waited nearly an hour for the food, and it arrived with one good plate, and a $55 "Wagyu" which was a small, twisted piece of sinewed, chewy meat with cold, soggy veggies and mash. Sent it back, and my wife was finished by the time the replacement came - which again, was about as 'Wag'yu as a pup's tail. They kindly removed cost of my meal, and we got anniversary desert. Nice building and staff working hard - just set your expectations accordingly.

You have to seat yourself - there were enough vacant tables to pick from. Within a few minutes, our server was over and helped us narrow down on what we wanted to order. I went for a Crushed Velvet Mule in addition to Cali, Buffalo (both grilled versions) and Burg B Q. We told our server that between me and my wife, we will be sharing the chicken sandwich and hence requested that it be sliced into 2. Not only were the burgers sliced, it was served in separate plates with sides as well - that was a really nice touch. Cali was a bit bland, Buffalo and Burg B Q were both really nice. The drink was nice as well. There was live music but we were seated near a table that was pretty boisterous, could hardly hear anything. The outdoor seating overlooking greenery and events they do at the restaurant make the place quite different - we will definitely be back soon to try other options on the menu.

Unfortunately we were not able to enjoy it due to weather yet, we had a few ladies greet us as we were hugged by the warmth of the heaters. This venue had a very inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay. The food was also delicious. Yard burger, chicken tenders, and 1/2 order of nachos were all pleasantly filling. Also the queso is a must have to prepare you for your meal. Our waitress was able to be readily available for any needs without smothering our party. My friend and I walked circles around the property trying to figure out where we can sit or even place an order. Finally, we found someone and we requested to sit outside away from a heater. Well....there was apparently no "outside servers" that day. This was very confusing because there were many staff members just standing chatting with customers who already paid ages ago. The food was very salty and it tasted like it's been sitting there for a while. Additionally, the infamous waffle fries came out lukewarm which was very unpleasant. The entire time we were in the restaurant I see all the staff chatting it up with the same customers who happened to later buy them all food. I guess thats how you get their attention. Because somehow, we never got any refills or even our check. Keep in mind there wasn't many people in the restaurant itself at that time.

I'm not a fan of constant interruptions while eating, so that balance was appreciated. The place itself is awesome. Plenty of TVs, a great layout, outdoor patio, and a great bar area. Perfect hangout spot whether you're with family, friends, or just grabbing lunch solo. Prices are reasonable and competitive with similar spots. The downtown McKinney location is ideal and easy walking distance to other shops and restaurants, so no need to keep driving around. Food was great. The burger was juicy and flavorful even well done. The salmon was also well done with crispy edges and a slab of butter that melted right over it great flavor. Hoping that butter option is available for the steak because that's next on my list. Sides were solid too. Only thing I wasn't big on was the fries. They're super thin, so they were crispy but had a slightly hard, borderline stale texture. Just my opinion though. overall still a great experience. Definitely coming back. Burger and salmon were outstanding, customer service was great, and the atmosphere makes it a spot worth checking out with family or friends.

Our booth was very comfortable and easily fit our family of five. The noise level is above average, but not for a sports bar/brewery. It was just right for us. We could talk, but didn't to worry about anyone being disturbed by our kids being a little louder than normal. The menu isn't big, so I suggest perusing before arriving, especially if you have dietary restrictions or are picky. Our family settled on + Korean Shrimp Tacos (no dairy). The kitchen was super careful not to include any dairy in my tacos. They were tasty, but I didn't realize the shrimp would be fried and the slaw would be removed to accomodate my no dairy request. I would pick something else next time. + Big Tavern Burger for my husband and he loved it! Even the fries were a hit. + Big Tavern Burger with cheese and grilled onions only for one of the kids. + Plain hamburger and a single meat patty for our other two kiddos. + Hubby and I both got unsweet iced teas and the tea was brewed just right. Our waitress was wonderful, I hate that I forgot her name. She was friendly and kept our waters and iced tea full the whole time. She was never hard to find if we needed something, but gave us space to enjoy our dinner too. We will definitely be back!
