During the past year or so, a few friends and I sort of got together and formed a band (not much good, obviously) and after having several practices in their back room, much to their neighbours disdain, we decided to venture out to a real practicing space with real amplification and sounds (hopefully).
Situated in an old warehouse, the studios is quite difficult to find if you don't know the area, hidden down a back street near Moorfields Station (even the front door isn't easy to see).
The interior is pretty basic but the practice rooms themselves have everything you need and anything extra can be rented on request. The toilets leave little to be desired, but what's rock 'n' roll about a hygienic bathroom? You're there to make sweet, sweet music and for that purpose, Crash ticks all the boxes. The sound in some rooms is worse than others but to be honest, with the noise we were making, it was usually hard to tell if it was the room's fault or our own.
Each practice room also contains a couch for relaxing in between rockin' out and there are refreshments available downstairs in the 'reception' area, which is basically a room with a pool table and a desk. The staff there are friendly and helpful, offering good advice or help whenever needed.
They also offer recording services at a reasonable price and storage spaces, perfect for all those drummers out there to store their sets at least. read more
