I love this super cool goth store in Philly on 4th and South ! Lots of cool stuff in the store, cool goth dresses, shoes, etc. Price is reasonable. I found exactly what I was looking for. Stefanie was so sweet and helpful ! We even shared stories of some of our favorite music artists/bands ! If you're ever in Philly, check them out !

Cool shirts

Punk rock clothing shop. So fun to stop in. Boots, all kinds of tops, so fun. It's punk though, do visit for fun even if not your style.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Greene Street! I've been consigning my clothing, bags and…read moreaccessories with them for years and have always been pretty happy with my experiences. Their employees are very friendly and the location on South Street always looks nice. Greene Street has changed their consignment model a couple times over the years. Recently, they've reverted to their former model which is when they email a contract within a couple weeks of the drop-off. The contract lists each item they plan to re-sell and the price. After the consignment window (45 days, reduced from the previous 60), you receive a payment for any items that were sold, minus a $4.99 handling fee. The payment is a percentage of the sale price, which fluctuates depending on the value of the item. Anything they don't want to put on the floor and anything that doesn't sell in that 45 day window can be donated, unless you want to pay a fee to pick up the unsold items. It sounds complicated but really, it's a great service. I don't like holding onto things I don't need or no longer wear so this gives me an opportunity to clean out my closet a couple times a year while making a few bucks in the process (for me, typically anywhere from $50 to occasionally $100+ for each haul). I also love that they simply donate items that they decide not to sell. Wins all around!

I had the pleasure of meeting Tammy at Urban Princess today, and what a wonderful experience!…read more I stopped in looking for a gift for someone I work with who is moving back to the West Coast. Tammy was so helpful without ever making me feel pressured. She showed me crystals, some beautiful light oils, and necklaces that could be worn multiple ways--as necklaces, bracelets, or anklets. At one point she simply said, "Get what you feel. Get what you think." And that was exactly what I needed to hear. This person happens to be my birthday twin, so I initially thought I was going to go with garnet. But then I found the most beautiful silver lotus earrings! One pair was $15, or two for $25, and since I was shopping on a budget, the lotus earrings were perfect. And honestly, how could I pass up a lotus? Tammy made the experience feel personal, relaxed, and enjoyable. I left with exactly what felt right--and already knowing I can't wait to come back and see her again. Thank you, Tammy, for your kindness, your ideas, and your beautiful energy.

This review is based solely on customer service at this establishment. The wares are beautiful and…read morewell curated, and although pricey, they're great pieces. But I was appalled with how I was treated by one of the employees there. I had been chatting with one of the owners, I think- Ariel? She was sweet as could be and shared my enthusiasm over an amazing eggplant wool dress and coat from the fifties. She told me the price and after admiring it I decided to try it on. By this time, Ariel had stepped out and another female employee stepped in. I remarked to her that it was so beautiful and I'd like to try it on, to which she sneered, very obviously looked me up and down, and said, "well, it only really fits a size 2...". Not that it makes any difference what size I am, but I'm between a 4 and 6 and was appalled at her rudeness. I asked the waist measurement (it was definitely larger than a 2) and she didn't know. When I said I'd like to give it a try, she scoffed and said, "well, it's $250, so don't force it". Excuse me?! How dare she say something like that! I'm not a child who is unaware of the delicacy of vintage clothing, and am not disillusioned about my size- I did try it on and it all fit except for the bust, because the waist was very high up on the dress and I have a long torso. The girl asked if it fit, and I told her the bodice was too short, and she replied that the original owner was very short and petite. That's what she should've told me about the size-I'm tall, around 5'9", and it would be very obvious it wouldn't fit if it was tailored for a short woman. Instead she made it about weight with her tone and comments. She then tried to get me to try on the original clothing line, saying it goes well with an "hourglass" shape, but I was so furious and embarrassed that I left. No one should be commenting on anyone's size, no matter how veiled, and to assume I would damage the garment? Uncalled for, unacceptable, and just plain mean. It was not said out of concern for the dress- it was malicious and very ill intended. I also felt like she was insinuating I couldn't afford it, anyway. I'll not return to be treated to poorly, and that's a shame, because this shop has potential.

I love it. Sweet selection of men's vintage, tons of interesting housewares and antiques, and a…read moresmall, tight selection of women's vintage. However the most exciting bit is the original Earl Salko lines of clothes by Ariel, who is always there at the sewing machine and helping people find something. I bought a dress here after admiring the simple lines and unfussy design of a dress in the window. I didn't have time to try it on, and when it didn't look just right (too shiny for daytime wear) I brought it back and Ariel exchanged it for a more work-appropriate dress, no problem. Everyone who works here is super sweet and goes out of their way to help you in a non-intrusive manner. Joyously recommended to fans of vintage and super-simple, locally made clothes.

Lots of places were closed, but our dapper male companion was most excited to see this place was open. We were enticed by a shoe display on the sidewalk featuring some very loud alligator shoes and our friend snagged a pair of boots from the outdoor sale rack to try on. The sales guy (owner?) was very friendly and helpful, showed our friend over to the vast shoe department where he just about died and went to heaven. It was a really impressive selection of men's shoes for such an unassuming independent shop. In fact, the selection of everything was quite impressive! It's a big store with something literally for every guy you know. I used to think this was a grandpa's shop when walking by but they have plenty of modern and quality items along with old standbys and a nice selection of formal wear and suits. Lots of very reasonable prices. Can't wait to come back here with my fiance! Some reviewers mention they received less-than-friendly treatment here. We were treated great, but we also were clearly going to buy something and looked like solid sales marks, so that could have something to do with it.

This place is definitely proof that looks can truly be deceiving…read more Whenever I used to walk by A Mans Image I dismissed it as being drastically behind the times due to its dated look and fact that I couldn't gather much information on it online or otherwise compared to most other local clothing stores. But the more I walked by the more drawn I became to the reasonably priced designer merchandise and that were on the outdoor sales rack and window display. And upon first entry they won me over with the incredible deals and knowledgeable sales staff. The owner is a sharp dressed old head who will be quick to tell you how he's been in the clothing business for 50+ years as he walks you through the product that best suits your style. And when it comes down to it if he can't make you look good then no one can. he knows the product he buys in seam and out, and knows when to recommend things like scotch guarding for a jacket. his family runs the business with him and he has some pretty skilled staff as well. While some of the clothing did match the dated exterior, the store does yield a diverse amount of fashion at some pretty insane deals. designer pants went for as low as $50 for a pair of 2, and top of the lines sweaters went for as low as $30 for 2. When I picked up a brand new winter coat the owner was even cool enough to throw in a matching scarf free of charge. Add in plenty of suits, shirts, shoes, and then some; and you have a perfect destination for good fashion on a budget.

A few days later, I received a cancellation notice falsely stating that I had requested to cancel the order -- which I had not. I had to reach out myself to find out what happened, and only then was I informed that the company had decided to cancel my order due to the cost of international shipping -- despite the fact that I had already paid the higher shipping and duties. No one attempted to contact me beforehand or offer any alternative; they simply cancelled the order without discussion. To make things worse, the sale price of the bag is no longer listed, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the cancellation.
