Wow, now after coming here, I'm thinking our hometown one needs to step it up! This one is amazing; I was curious to see if we would see some of the same vendors as our Farmer's market is on Sundays and we've been told some are from the Orange/LA County area and travel. But to our surprise I think only 2 vendors we've seen before. I wanted to try it all but of course could not. From fruit, bread, nuts, eggs, to freshly squeezed juices to vitamin shots and jewelry, there is a little something for everyone! Everyone is so nice and welcoming and SAMPLES they want you to try before you buy! Amazing! The best type of advertising their product!! Whoever coordinates this market, hands-down well done. It was great!! We left with our bag and hands full! Just when you think it is one row, you turn to find more vendors! They had a live band and there was plenty of street parking up and down the street. There are some long line waits for coffee but definitely worth the wait!! Can't wait to come back!

The people were helpful and kind there very efficient and the check out was so fast especially awesome for how busy it was, I was very impressed! Star moment for us was that, we asked for a horchata and the staff member tested the horchata for us first to make sure it was okay. Since they make it daily, he was not comfortable selling it to us and it was totally understandable since it was the end of the day.

The trade-off, though, is that parking is pretty limited, so be prepared for a tight squeeze during busier hours. The store itself is tiny, and while they do carry general groceries, the selection is limited. What does stand out is their variety of Mexican items--things you won't always find at larger chain stores. Most people seem to come here specifically for the deli, bakery, and meat counter, and honestly, that's where La Reina really shines. The pan dulce is always fresh and delicious, and their bolillos are consistently great. They also sell masa for tortillas and tamales, which is reasonably priced and convenient if you're doing any traditional cooking at home. Prices in general can be a little higher than bigger grocery chains, but considering this is a smaller operation--and the convenience of having authentic items--it makes sense. As for the staff, I've had a mix of experiences. Most employees I've dealt with have been friendly and helpful, but there have definitely been a few not-so-great interactions. They're busy, especially at the deli and meat counter, so patience is key. A tip for ordering deli/prepared foods: Look at the menu before you get to the counter and have an idea of what you want. The staff tends to move quickly and doesn't always answer detailed questions about the food, so doing your homework helps. I recommend checking Google photos, reviews, or even Yelp ahead of time so you know what you're getting into. The store can get crowded and overwhelming, and both the deli and the meat counter can get backed up. The quality of the meat is good--sometimes even a deal--though other times it can be pricier than at larger grocery stores. Overall, I do recommend La Reina Market, especially for authentic bakery items, masa, and deli foods. Just come prepared, know what you want, and bring your best patient hat!

Even though each store has a strengths, I feel like overall Bristol Farms is the better of the two. This is speaking as millennial and maybe Bristol Farms serves a more immature crowd. Hopefully it stays that way. They have everyday products and they have very niche products. Literally something for everyone their bakery is delicious and of course they have their classic big cookies that are served warm. I haven't had anything from the juice/coffee bar yet, but I will next, however the poke bar and the hot bar, never disappoints and that is why I'm writing this review finally. Today I had a flounder piccata mashed potatoes, perfectly roasted vegetables, and pasta Bolognese with huge chunks of beef. Everything was delicious. The flounder even remained crunchy two hours after leaving the store they don't have the variety in the hot bar that Whole Foods has, however, the quality is far superior, and the flavor is in the upper echelon compared to Whole Foods. These are consistent findings within the self-service food area even within the deli carving station. Sometimes they have turkey briskets. I believe I've even purchased prime rib there and the quality and flavor is always on point consistently the presentation of all of their items never fails either also, every time I go to Bristol Farms you're always greeted with a smile. The staff is really nice and in general they look like they're happy to be there which makes the shopping experience that much better.

Store itself is good sized and organized with a nice little wine shop. The bakery counter had good options and I got a few bakery goods of course. I find some of the fresh produce weren't as fresh as Whole Foods. Also less grocery varieties cause they sell a lot of different things other than groceries. Nonetheless I got what I needed. We stopped at coffee and juice counter for matcha and cold brew before leaving. The workers were a bit flat but still polite. This is a good choice of store for groceries whenever we need to charge our car too. One stop for two chores to save time!

We tried the trio sampler of pastas and it was amazing! My dad loved it and so did I. The price was really decent for $29.99. We got to try three different types of pastas! I especially love that it came with complimentary bread and butter. We got the fettuccine Alfredo, which was so delicious and probably my favorite of the three. We also got the pesto pasta, which was also delicious. Honestly, all the pastas we tried were really good. It tasted very fresh. I don't know if they make their pasta there, but it tasted like they did. The lady that took our order was very friendly too! The vibe of the restaurant was as if you were in Italy. Definitely would recommend.

I knew it was there but never stopped in until I saw their reel online. Ordered Rigatoni Bolognese and added two meatballs along with an Italian beer. $40 bucks‍ Waited for quite some time but figured it's made to order so I was patient. The Mexican music blaring from the kitchen should've been my first sign what I was in for. No Italian music. No feeling of being in Italy for a bowl of pasta. The server dropped some bread on my table and walked off. Individual butter packets that took two packets to spread across one small piece of bread. Bread was boring and nothing worth even eating. I barely ate one tiny slice. Pasta finally arrived and even though I requested Al Dente it was too soft and over cooked. Sauce was decent but needed way more garlic. The meatballs‍...the meatballs‍...were lukewarm and were so tough I could barely cut through it with a fork. They were chewy and tasteless. I got the sense they were left over from the days before, perhaps even frozen and reheated. The only positive was the new young girl at the counter who just started working here. She was pleasant and happy. The other employee assisting her appeared miserable and just gave off a bad vibe. Owners may want to intervene and rethink having this person interacting with customers. I may try to give em another opportunity but for the price it's gonna be tough to bring myself to stop in again. Perhaps if I'm starving on the way home I'll give it another whirl.
