My husband recently had something like a "shade" suddenly appear and block the upper field of…read morevision in his right eye. Of course, this happened after hours on a Friday evening. We did a bit of a search online, and it seemed he likely had a torn/detached retina. The Mayo Clinic website said it was an emergency and needed to be treated asap. Therefore, my husband called the large Littleton eye practice we'd been using the last 4 years. It was ~7:00 pm. The answering service told him the docs there work m-f from 8-5 - call back Monday morning. Husband told her he thinks he has a detached retina, that it's an emergency, don't they have any provision to see an established patient experiencing an emergency, and she repeated, "call back Monday morning." Meanwhile, I was searching "emergency eye care" online, and Eye Consultants of Colorado in Conifer (15 minutes from our home) was the first result. With very low hopes that he'd get an answer different from the last, I passed the phone number to my husband. Dr. Scott Morris answered the phone (@7:15 pm Friday evening). He listened to my husband's description of what was happening with his eye, and asked him to meet at his office in 30 minutes! Dr. Morris opened his office for Richard, did a thorough exam and confirmed that he did have a detached retina that needed attention asap. He connected Richard with a great retina surgeon/specialist who saw him the next morning, did all the preop tests and performed the surgery Monday morning. Richard's eye is healing really well, and we cannot thank Dr. Morris enough for how well he handled this emergency. I can't imagine Richard would have had the surgery as quickly as he did without Dr. Morris' help. It's been 3 weeks now, and we are (obviously) former patients of the large Littleton eye practice (who did call back the following Tuesday!), and happy to be new patients of Dr. Morris. My husband was examined and fitted for new glasses (since surgery changed his vision Rx). He reports it was an excellent experience. Everyone working with Dr. Morris has been caring, helpful and very professional. We've told all our friends and neighbors about Dr. Morris' practice. Aside from saving us a lot of extra driving time/miles, he definitely feels extremely well cared for and confident we now have the very best eye doctor! Highly recommend!

I have gone through the last 5 years unable to see correctly or drive anymore. What I see through…read moremy eyes is similar to the Stars Wars movie of all the stars flying at you through the window. Except that I see buses, cars, trash cans, fencing..what I drive by comes through the window at me... It is frightening and even when someone else is driving I still see things flying at me. I have gone to 5 specialists, had Brain MRI's, Psychological testing and all same the same thing.. Not a thing wrong with your eyes or your head.. Can't help you. THEN.... my Chiropractor said, " Have you heard of Dr. Trinka? No .. I had not. AND I live in the same area he has been in for years. And none of my doctors mentioned him. He is Neuro/Optical Doctor. He knew what was wrong...... guess what? I can see beautifully now...nothing moves that shouldn't move. IF you too, have an issue no one can help diagnose please help yourself by seeing this wonderful Doctor. My eyes can see well, my glasses are beautiful and the earth and all the trees no longer fly......

The first time I figured it was a fluke so I drove the 1.5-hour drive to go back, get rechecked, and try again. Glasses came in, drove back up and I still couldn't SEE with the glasses. So try 3! Same thing.. I was just SO incredibly frustrated so I said.. well I guess I'll have to go and find another eye doctor since something is off. I went to a local eye doctor, had to pay for everything again and Dr. Trinka used up all my insurance credits including my frames which he didn't give me so I had to pay full price for everything again. The new doctor's glasses worked the first time with no issues so something is off at with Dr. Trinka's office. I was very disappointed to have wasted so much time, gas, money and energy. I'd look elsewhere.

After the exam I was charged $160 for what they called charges that weren't included with the insurance. Never once was i told certain procedures weren't covered to give me the option to accept or refuse that part of the exam. No transparency with this exam and I will never go back. Very shady business. When I asked about a service this practice offers, something another physician had mentioned that I knew nothing about, Dr. Lee told me I was "way out there," gestured while saying it, and said I was "putting the cart before the horse." Instead, he became increasingly defensive and condescending. I repeatedly had to remind him that he is the provider and I am the patient, and that I rely on him to help explain my options and wouldn't know if I didn't ask. It was very strange. The interaction escalated to the point that I told him I was shocked by how I was being treated. He agreed the conversation had become confrontational. Since my questions were still not being answered, I ended the visit on the spot and let him know I would not be continuing care with him. My eyes were dilated, and no protective shielding was offered during the exam, which felt unsafe and unprofessional. Luckily, I had my sunglasses. I will not be returning and felt it was important to share my experience for anyone who may be hesitant to post. I would also encourage those considering him to read a few other reviews (if you look his name up directly), and read yelp reviews. There were many reviews that were concerning to me as well. You can be your own judge. What stands out is not disagreement, but temperament. In a professional setting, the ability to communicate calmly and tolerate reasonable patient questions matters.
