SOLID 5+ STARS. Took out of town visitors here for lunch. And we started with some appetizers: bobcat fries; brisket nachos; and potstickers All were huge portions and all delicious. For our main entree: a grilled cheese; a patty melt; and the bacon queso burger were chosen and all were served with fries, all were quite tasty. Our server, Lacy, was very attentive and very personable. When we return, we will definitely ask for Lacy! The vibe was chill college town hangout chic. Nice change of pace for the very bland atmosphere of a chain restaurant.

"Breakfast plate"

If I could give this place a zero I absolutely would. The sausage came out with the packaging still on it. They have no knives so we had to use a plastic knives to cut sausage that was tremendously overcooked. They have no butter, had to bring out melted cooking butter. Our server was very nice. It was her second day, but I will never come here again absolutely horrible experience.

I sat for 50 minutes waiting and not 1 person came to help me. I walked to the bar and asked the 1 waiter if I'm supposed to order somewhere else, he ignored me so i just stared until he said, yeah the bartender can help you. So i walk to the empty area of the bar and waited another few minutes for the bartender to take my order before i just gave up and left. There was female waitress (blonde) she walked around in circles doing nothing or playing on her phone. I've never waited 50 minutes in an empty restaurant before, was ridiculous. Never again will i return to this hole. See video for evidence of empty and picture of waiter just standing there on phone.

Unfortunately, our experience at the CRAFThouse left a lot to be desired. Despite the restaurant only having a few occupied tables, it took an unreasonably long time for anyone to even acknowledge our presence. We ordered water, a round of drinks, and an appetizer. The blue raspberry margarita was undrinkable -- it tasted overwhelmingly like rubbing alcohol with no hint of flavor, and we ended up sending it back. For the appetizer, we tried the fried mac and cheese, which tasted like it had been pulled straight from the freezer and deep-fried. It lacked seasoning, texture, and overall appeal. As for the chicken quesadilla, it was edible but bland -- definitely nothing to write home about. By the time we left, we were all joking (half-seriously) about whether we'd end up with food poisoning. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this spot based on our visit. The quality just didn't match the expectations. Not to mention they had tvs SO LOUD! We had to yell at each other just to engage in a conversation ...

To go daiquiris! Mitchell did a great job serving us. The vibe was chill and you can tell it's a great spot to come hang out with friends.

Only 2 of what i would consider craft brews, just because its not bud light doesnt make it craft. Burnt is NOT medium rare, waaaaaaay overcooked burger. Not great just edible. Service was pretty good. Chicken sandwich is chicken jerky.

Bad queso

Don't get the queso it's trash and messed up my drinks. Bad queso, bad queso, bad queso.

Mac & Cheese (Side) Hawaiian Smoked Brisket Tacos (2pc)
Denita W.

I was in town for a work visit and stopped here based on a quick glance at the menu. The service was great but the food was disappointing. I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ tacos and it comes with a side. The chopped brisket tacos came out with cold pineapple slapped on top straight from a can of pineapple chunks. It was meh. The brisket was ok but the pineapple really brought this down quite a bit. The pulled pork Mac & cheese was the side I chose. It was inedible. The Mac & cheese alone was bland and the meat on top was not great. I tried to add bbq sauce, but it did not help. I usually box all leftovers because I hate food waste but I left the Mac & cheese on the table.

This is a college bar/restaurant and is exactly what you'd expect. The food was OK, the drinks were OK. Our server was really good and got this review an extra star. He was fast and came back plenty of times but not too much. They have a lot of frozen drink options just beware of massive ! I don't think we'll be back. Not a bad experience, just better options around.

Don't sleep on Moonshine Grill! We've been here a number of times and recently returned for dinner…read moreafter an event at the Fairmont Hotel. We somehow snagged nearby street parking and a table for two with no wait despite it being a busy Saturday evening after a UT football game. Make a reservation if you have a large party or are on a tighter schedule. It's a bit loud for those seated in the lobby/entrance area, but totes a vibe. For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. I'm already thinking about the next time we're going back! If not for Moonshine, definitely for the speakeasy downstairs.

We arrived and in a few minutes we were seated at a table and immediately given water in mason jars and asked for our drink order. I opted just got an Arnold Palmer but the drink menu had some cute cocktails and mocktails, as well as a nice selection of beer and wine. Instead of bread, our server brought us a basket of seasoned popcorn. The popcorn had almost like a Cajun flair, but it wasn't spicy. It reminded me of the Ground Round chain from when I was a little girl. We decided to try the corndog shrimp appetizer. I couldn't decide on an entree because everything looked so good, so I did the Parmesan chicken and my coworker did the steak salad. The shrimp arrived so quickly with four large pieces of shrimp on a stick wrapped in corn dog batter and fried to a golden brown, with a blueberry mustard dipping sauce. The shrimp were delicious and while I didn't get much of the blueberry in the mustard, I enjoyed the sweetness it provided. My Parmesan chicken was a crispy and juicy breaded chicken cutlet with a lemon cream, artichoke hearts, and what appeared to be prosciutto on top. It was served with a side of pesto couscous with grape tomatoes and cucumbers. I wish I had ordered mashed potatoes on the side, because I wanted something to soak up the lemon cream sauce, which was the highlight of the chicken. We also were served 3 mini cornbread muffins with honey butter. My coworker said the salad was just okay, and was a little on the small side. The desserts were definitely a MUST and if you visit Moonshine and don't save room for the Espresso Brownie or the Peanut Butter Pie, you're going to regret it. The brownie was so fudgey and warm and served with ice cream. It was decadent. The peanut butter pie was the biggest slab of PB pie I've ever had with a thick Oreo crust. I wish I had someone with me to share it, it was huge. Overall, if I lived in the area I would definitely be back to try other things.

There was over an hour wait for food due to how obviously busy a bar is on International Wear Green and Drink Beer Day, which didn't concern us because we had already eaten. For everyone else, sucks to be them. Our Guinnesses were good, and I really have no complaints. The location is quite narrow, but they make the most of it. There is a ton of beers to choose from, but I only had the Guinness because, well, celebrating a commercialization of Irish culture. Overall it does seem like a cool little spot and I could see myself coming back for a beer in the future. The Leprechaun movie was lit too. I'M SO GREEN RIYL: Brass on tap? idk

From the very beginning, I worked with Tra, the event coordinator. He did an amazing job and was incredibly patient with me because I can be a little picky and indecisive! He listened to what I wanted, answered all my questions, and always guided me in the right direction. Everything came together beautifully. Heaven was the lead on the day of the party, and she was fantastic--warm, helpful, and always making sure everything ran smoothly. Everyone we encountered was so kind and welcoming. Cale was our server, and he truly went above and beyond. We kept him very busy with a party of 25, but he handled it all with a great attitude. He was hardworking, personable, and just an incredibly nice guy. The food and drinks were amazing. I only wish I had been able to eat more myself, but all of our guests raved about everything! Most importantly, my husband was genuinely surprised, and everyone had a wonderful time. Catarina, the general manager, followed up with me afterward to make sure I was happy with the service and how everything went. She was amazing as well, and I truly appreciated her taking the time to personally check in with me. The atmosphere was fun and lively, and the entire event was exactly what I had hoped for. I highly recommend Culinary Dropout for a private event--especially working with Tra, Heaven, Cale, and Catarina. We will definitely be back, although next time it may just be for a relaxed afternoon to watch a game, enjoy the food and drinks, take in the great atmosphere, and give Tra, Heaven, and Cale a much-needed break from my party-planning craziness! Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart for making my husband's 60th birthday so special.

Beware The "Pastrami Reuben"…read more I saw that hundreds of people on Yelp had reviewed Cibolo Creek Brewing and overall ratings were over 4 stars. I should have done a bit more reading and looking at the pictures. We stopped in on a mid-afternoon Sunday in early June. First impression upon entering through the front door was confusion. It was not really clear what the process was to order and get a seat. We approached the bar area and then noticed the "order here and seat yourself" signs. Several people came in behind us and so we felt a bit rushed to order. There were several craft beers on tap, but I was told I could not get a flight at the moment. I was able to get a taster, but with all the people behind me waiting to order, I didn't feel I had time to find out more about the beers before committing to a 16oz pour or lose my place in line. Shame on me for not doing my homework. We tried "The BEST Burger" and the "Pastrami Reuben", both with fries and two beers for close to $60 plus tip. The burger wasn't the best. It was sort of "meh". The homemade fries were good. The so-called Reuben was closer to a brisket sandwich than an actual Reuben. The meat was very mesquite-wood-smokey and then appeared to have been fried on a grill (definitely not steamed). It was very chewy despite being thinly sliced and had NONE of the flavor good pastrami has. The menu claims the meat is tri-tip, but tri-tip is known to be a tender cut. The meat on that sandwich was NOT tender. Cibolo Creek Brewery is in a great location (which sort of explains the prices) right next to the Cibolo Creek Trail and River Road Park and they do have a nice covered outdoor seating area with large family-style picnic tables. I may return to sample a few more of their beers and see if there is something I like better on the menu.
