1. They immediately created a shipping label though one item was shipped 10 days later and I'm still waiting for the other after 3 weeks. 2. Creating the shipping label generated an automatic email saying my item had been shipped. Not true! And thinking it had been shipped prevented me from cancelling the order within 48 hours thus incurring a 10 percent "restocking fee." 3. They immediately put the full charge through -- not pending. They have my money, I don't have my second item. 4. Contacting them was problematic. Eventually my charge card provider told me how to reach them. When I finally heard back from them they said the first item was "in stock" and the second item was "awaiting their next restocking" or words to this effect. They would not provide an estimated shipping date. 5. These three things make me think this business behaves as if they are trouble and need my money to stay afloat though they obviously never intended immediate shipment. 6. All this said, the item I received is BEAUTIFUL, fairly priced and exactly what I wanted. I'm just hoping I eventually receive the second one. read more

Terrible company! Their furniture is NOT made in the US! even though it seems like it is. I finally got my 2 pieces of furniture, one was severely damaged, so they had to send another, that took a few weeks. The filing cabinet has some light scratches, but I was sick of waiting for the furniture and chasing down white glove delivery (which is basically a guy who rents a van, picks up furniture at their ware house and drops it at the buyers home, it's not one specific moving company that handles white glove deliveries nation wide. All of the delivery people were very nice, and did a nice job, even when I needed to send items back). read more

Like many other customers providing reviews, I paid almost $2000 for 2 pieces of furniture over 2 months ago and there are no words to describe how unsatisfied we are. No one should ever order furniture from them! First, the shipping situation is awful. The first piece in the order took about 8 weeks to arrive and it was excuse after excuse with repeated delays. The second item in the order took about 10 weeks and finally arrived today and when we unpacked the box, the item was severely damaged (even though the exterior packaging looked fine). Next, the quality of these items is not what was advertised and these items are clearly mass produced in a factory with little to no quality control, most likely overseas. The drawers do not open properly and the cabinet doors do not close properly. The staining is uneven, and the furniture is mostly oak veneer (NOT quarter-sawn oak as advertised). Finally, getting prompt customer service was impossible. There is no phone number provided so you just have to wait for "Julia" to respond to your email. You ask them to call you but they never do. The "shipper" and the seller do not communicate and at times no one can tell you why there is a delay, where the furniture is in transit, and when it will be delivered. Yet, they charge the full cost when you place the order, even if the item is not shipped for TWO MONTHS! And the icing on the cake was when the shipper texted at 10 pm at night saying they would deliver one of the items at 1:30 am! Seriously! BUYER BEWARE! This company is a ripoff. read more

Unfortunately I did not read the poor reviews because I figured how could you go wrong with throw pillows. Boy was I wrong. Spent over 80 bucks for two throw pillows that look like I could have gotten better quality at a thrift store. Material look like it was dyed off some fake fur that came from God knows where with white streaking on the edges. Mind you the pillow was suppose to be bold gold and black coloring. I went straight to the reviews after that and read the comments from hell. I didn't even bother for a refund because I knew it would never happen and I would be out of the return fee. While most of their products are much better quality - hand made, real wood, beautiful finishes - their trustworthiness and customer service is abysmal. This is not a cut-rate merchant but you would not know it by the lack of concern for getting what you pay for. Or even getting what you ordered. Ours is a long story so I'll make it shorter here. We spent time visiting the warehouse (they do seem to run this show) and chose a particular dining table. When we returned to the store to make the order we were informed our table was still available and was their cherry finish. Neither was true. After delivery they admitted in writing that our table was "delivered to another customer in error." Ok. Mistakes happen. So we asked to get a similar table. We were not allowed to go to the warehouse again (first red flag) so we asked for pics of similar table; not ideal, but we were trying hard to be understanding. We received one pic of a table. One. Not nearly the character of build like the one we chose, so we asked to see more. That was some time ago. Crickets and wind now. We are a retired couple and maybe they thought we were an easy mark. I believe now that they have strung us along for nearly two months, all the while promising the box in my dining room would turn into a table we would be happy with. I've asked for the information on the builder of our original table after they excused their lack of response with "We've changed vendors." I won't bother relaying the other excuses here, but I did eventually ask for my issue to be escalated up the chain (not usually my thing, but geez). Never spoke to anyone else. Now the promises have even stopped and my contact Julia, their Customer Service Manager, is not answering my e-mails or calls. I guess the next move is to go back to the store and deal with this issue in person. We spent so much time choosing this tablle. What a heap of frustration and aggravation dealing with Crafters and Weavers' outright dismissal. Especially since we were wide open to workable solution. I am beyond disappointed with my experience with Crafters and Weavers. We are going on almost four months since I placed my order, and I still do not have either of the two pieces of artwork I purchased. Instead of receiving what I paid for, they have now sent me the WRONG item twice. I am repeatedly inconvenienced by having to handle their logistics mistakes and ship incorrect items back just to get them out of my house. While the color is lovely on the two pillow covers I ordered the fabric is disgusting, a type of fake fur I believe. It feels totally synthetic and a bit scratchy if you go against the grain. Nothing I would want on my sofa! The biggest problem: I was out of state and was unaware of the 3 day return policy which had expired before I even saw my pillow covers. Terrible customer service. I was sent a piece of furniture stained the wrong color (the stain was completely different than what was shown on the website and completely incompatible with my home.) They admitted the color was different than what I ordered. They said I could return it but would have to pay $295. Finally I opened a dispute with my credit card company and due to that threat as well as much pleading on my part they agreed that I could pay "only" $100 to return it. The price of the piece was a big investment for me and the piece something I planned to have in my home until I died. The company should have immediately agreed to allow a return at no cost to me. Beware. I will add that when I asked if any other companies would have their furniture in the old color I was told that they their products were exclusively theirs. What a lie. The worst possible service. I ordered a bookcase from these people almost a month ago. I was told it'd be here by 2/21 (today). No sign of it. Their shipper never responded to a text, call, and email. I could not be more disappointed in their sales practices. They advertised a mission dining room set including chairs with a picture for $1,895. Naturally, that caught my attention. It also is on Facebook for that price with the same picture. Only when you read the find print and after you call to verify the price, Tony tells you that it does not include the chairs. All that you have to do is to show the picture without the chairs. It also implies the original price of the table alone is $ 6,750. I would question that they ever sold that table for that amount. They weren't marked backordered when we ordered, and we only found out weeks later when we had heard nothing about delivery. Over the months, we were told they were repeatedly delayed. There was no communication from them without our calling and emailing. We ordered two filing cabinets in May, were to be delivered between May 15-25th and we would be notified prior to the delivery. Never heard from anyone so reached out June 2nd. Terrance also would give us a two day window and then say he would contact us to pin it down which he never did. Several times I told them to cancel the order and refund and each time they said Terrance would be contacting us to deliver in the next day, never happened. The last contact I had with this company, they told me they could not refund and credit my credit card because Terrance was going to deliver in the next two days. After those next two days passed, with no contact from Terrance I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. I feel this company constantly lied to us and I will never shop there again. I purchased a drop leaf table in November 2024. We immediately had trouble with the leaf support brackets being stuck in place.I contacted Crafters and Weavers and they basically said fix it your self. I am not a carpenter. I pryed out the stuck bracket with a screw driver, vice grips and a hammer which damaged the finish. I sanded all sides of the bracket and reinstalled it. It worked until Easter 2025 and it stuck again. Too make matters worse a second bracket stuck solid in the table. I worked for 2 hours and could not get the 2nd bracket pulled out. This happened right when we we going to eat our Easter dinner! I now own a table with 1 leaf instead of 2. This company must not have any quality control. I will not be buying any more of their products. read more

Excellent service. The representative offered to measure the size of the legs of the cabinet I was considering for a very confined space. Went above and beyond to answer all questions. Bought the cabinet in the end which is being shipped as I write this review. I have purchased large pieces in the past and they were all requisitely crafted and the wood was beautiful. Having gone to well known furniture stores and been told that nothing in their stores was made of real wood, I went looking for other options and there are virtually none that are not prohibitively expensive. This store is in a category all its own. The value is almost unbelievable except that I'm staring at an exceptional Mission oak sideboard that they built and which is in my dining room. May/16/2025 If you're thinking of buying a file cabinet, be careful. I DO NOT recommend this company because they are not responsible for their mistakes! The file cabinets are solid wood, which is what I was looking for. I also wanted security keys, and I found them, but there were problems. When I received my file cabinets, one of them had a poorly painted finish. I sent photos, and "George" told me it was part of the "design" of the wood, which is not true. The wood was scratched while they were working on it, and they didn't take the care to check before applying the paint. I called a professional who works with this type of wood, and he confirmed the mistake they made! I bought two file cabinets, one with two drawers and one with three drawers. The keys that come with the two-drawer cabinet are the ones we usually use. The three-drawer cabinet comes with keys that "bend." I struggle a lot every time I have to open them. I sent photos of everything, and it's just blah, blah, blah, blah! This is why I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. Previously, "Julia" answered my emails, but when there are problems, they do NOT take responsibility for their work. Then "George" started answering my emails. They simply DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. Recommend not dealing with the company. Purchased two file cabinets totaling over $2,000. The experience was good so far except delivery. Plus the fact that I ordered a letter size cabinet and they sent a Legal size cabinet. Not cool. Once I unwrapped them and loaded the files, the hang file rods bent EASILY and pulled out scratching the interior. Of course they denied that this could ever be a problem, but I sent pictures. The company would NOT fix the problem. They would not find a solution to the problem and they were only willing to pay half of the money for a fix I found. They would not give a full refund and required boxes to return them in that I did not have and shipping charges for return. I purchased a Craftsman style sideboard from the company. The sideboard is very nice; seems well built and matches my existing Mission-style dining set quite well. Unfortunately, when the item as delivered, the delivery guys slid the box containing the side board across my wood floor and left a trail of scratches. At the time I didn't have time to tell them to be careful as the slid the box almost immediately after putting it down. I contacted Crafters and Weavers and was basically told, "Sorry we hire a contractor to do the delivery. We have no responsibility. You need to contact them." I did. The deliver company only offered to give me complimentary "White Glove" service the next time--an offer that was essentially worthless to me since I had no plans to order something else. It was a take or leave it offer. The guy, Nathan, was quite polite until I told him that it wasn't a very good offer. His response basically, "You ain't going to get anything else, so tough luck." While it may not be fair to blame Crafters and Weavers for this problem, their position that they can't do anything (which isn't true), is frustrating. Overall, I'm conflicted. Their furniture met my expectations, but the delivery experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Furniture was delivered in April after phone calls, emails, and visiting the store multiple times to understand order status. Our learnings: * Furniture is solid. Customer service is lousy. * It appears Crafters & Weavers has 3rd party shipping and receiving, particularly local deliveries; therefore, their staff is unable to provide answers and help manage expectations. * Details about what had been committed to us about delivery was either not captured in Crafters & Weavers' system or we were lied to about what it would entail. 1) We had to push for acceptable service with laborers who were not capable or prepared. 2) If we were not physically able to assist, the delivery would not have been completed. 3) Had we known this service would be so poor, we would have preferred to shop elsewhere or hire a local moving company to pick up from Crafters & Weavers' warehouse and deliver to our home. read more

We really loved what we saw in the pics of their craftsman style kitchen island. But we were intimidated by all the negative reviews here on Yelp. Ultimately we decided to take a chance with them to get what we really wanted. We could have bought it from a middle-man company for a little cheaper and free shipping. But the middle man had even worse reviews. We decided to go with Crafters and Weavers because for the $229 fee they delivered the island right into the kitchen. And what a fine delivery it was. The arrived with the dates of the delivery window. The 2 young men who made the delivery were careful, well mannered, patient, and listened to the customer. They did so well and so agreeably we gave each one a generous tip. The packing of the piece was so protective it took a long afternoon to unpack the island. The island is so beautiful and so well made. I am using one of the hardboard sheets that was part of the packing to protect the top. read more

I wish I had read reviews first. My search started on ebay which lead me to find this company as I was looking for prairie furniture in the Chicagoland area. I drove over an hour to the Oak Park showroom---on a tollroad, gas at over $5/gallon, and paid for parking. Before I left, I called and asked what they had in the showroom and was told "a lot." Upon arriving, two individuals working inside the store sat at their desks, staring at their phones. They didn't look up, they didn't acknowledge the pair of us, they didn't offer any assistance, and their energy suggested our presence was a nuisance to them. After walking around a bit, I stepped up to the counter to ask some questions, and one of the workers pseudo lifted up her phone to her ear. It hadn't rung, she didn't start talking, and I'm certain she wasn't listening. She just didn't want to help me as seemed to be trying to do a "fake phone call" maneuver. The other worker sat and stared into the distance. We went downstairs and came back up with specific questions. This time I had to verbally ask for help but none came. I had questions about pieces, I asked about what was in stock, and I asked about a variety of goods on the show floor. The reply I got was "I couldn't possibly have everything here, a good deal is in my warehouse." I wish I had been told this when I called, but even when I probed, I was made to feel like I was disturbing the energy in the store (no one else was there; and no one else came or went while we tried to shop). It took every effort for the female worker (manager? owner?) to stand up and walk to the back of the store with me based on a query I had, and she wasn't helpful whatsoever. So much so that in the midst of my question, I decided to leave. I was there to purchase at least four bookcases, an office set (desk/chair/sideboard), a couch, and some oriental rugs. I was set to spend up to $20k on the items I needed for home furnishing. Instead, I took my business elsewhere. I'll note that I was not impressed with the quality of the materials I was seeing. Furniture was flimsy, some pieces were scratched, and I could tell that current and future customer service would be non-existent. I left for a competitor in Evanston and spent my thousands of dollars a few hours later to someone who cared about their work, their product, and their customers. I cannot recommend this establishment or its wares. If the owner/manager is reading this, you may want to get some better help or consider your own energy and ability to serve. read more

I ordered a bedroom set not even to try to save any money as it was pretty comparable to other bedroom sets I was looking at. It did take several weeks to ship and I was expecting that so no complaints there. What I wasn't expecting is that I paid for the white glove delivery. This is a service that they offer for an additional fee and they are supposed to bring the pieces inside your home and assemble them for you. They are not supposed to dump the furniture on pallets in your driveway in the middle of a snow storm. I was dumbfounded. Upon opening the pieces, we realized that not everything had been delivered and a few pieces that were delivered were broken. I contacted the customer service Representative, Toni, and she was of VERY little help. I wanted to return the whole set because I was disappointed in the quality and missing pieces and delivery experience and she just kept quoting that I could but it would be $600 for them to come and pick it up, etc. I didn't read the fine print so that was totally on me but the customer service experience was UNACCEPTABLE over all. They offered me $100 back so I could hire someone in my local area to fix the broken piece. What a joke. They eventually sent me a new part so that I could just fix it myself but the shipping took a few months. DO NOT BUY anything from their online store. You will be extremely disappointed. Hello Yelp users - I see all the negative review for Crafters & Weavers, but my experience was great. I ordered a piece of solid quarter sawn oak furniture. It did take about 7 weeks to get to me but I expected that with the furniture I ordered. I was given a range of about 10-15 days for delivery. The delivery lady, L, called me and said that her delivery guy who had my order had suffered a medical episode in Wyoming and my delivery would be delayed. I first asked if he was okay and L said yes. I wondered how my furniture would look after suffering in a truck accident. L delivered my furniture 3 days before she said she would be able to and she had to travel from Florida to Wyoming to take over the delivery. The furniture was boxed so well there was no damage to it at all and it was exactly the piece I expected to receive. Awesome delivery service and I am very satisfied. Thanks L! read more

We ordered the mission style oak tv stand. Not only was the quality of the build outstanding but it was packed extremely well protecting it from shipping abuse. It had multiple layers of protection including styrofoam sheets, which helps with most standard shipping bumps and dents. there were a couple issues that popped up regarding coupons not being applied and the shipping service selected was not what we received, but they promptly applied coupons after the sale and refunded shipping error.
