This is a combined review for the product and customer service. I've been here multiple times and have been satisfied with the products. The prices are to be expected for a craft store. It is clean and typically organized--overall the environment is quite inviting. I would say the staff generally have been pleasant and typically I have not required assistance for navigating the store or acquiring the products for my chosen project. Unfortunately I have now experienced what it is like when you don't know what you are doing and need a little bit of guidance. Being honest I do not know or have the experience in navigating or purchasing from the fabric department. Perhaps I should have done my research because the lady at the checkout was appalled that I showed up with an "un ticketed" mass of fabric. Instead of politely explaining the process and what needed to take place before finishing the check out process she felt it was appropriate to chastise me in front of all of the customers checking out. In attempting to quietly seek clarification (I was trying to cue her to lower her voice) on what I needed to do she proceeded to repeat loudly and sternly, "No. NO." I like to think I'm a pleasant individual that can follow instructions quite clearly but when you are made to feel like a child in front of your own child and other strangers...it feels pretty awful. Needless to say I quietly went back got my ticket and came back to check out--thankfully not with the same gal who humiliated me. The sweet girl who checked me out attempted to be kind and I appreciate her, especially her sweet comments towards my son. I do not know if this will be received or read by a rep at this Craft Warehouse site but perhaps some consideration needs to be made towards basic customer service training when interacting with ignorant customers that need clear and cordial guidance (I'm not suggesting bubbly or even kind...cordial is really all that is necessary). I most likely will return for the product and cleanliness of the store itself but I will most likely avoid purchasing for products of new or unfamiliar crafts. I imagine I will try Michaels for less familiar projects. read more

i heart this place! whatever you need, they have. you need stickers, card stock, chipboard, candles or paint with glitter in it? check! you need feathers? check! you need a vase or a beta fish? check? knitting needles? check! really cheap frames? check! 1 billion kinds of scrapbook paper? check! mounted canvases that are always on sale? check! fake tree branches with little lights in them? check! basically, if you wanna craft it up, you will find what you need in this store. love it. read more

Good luck getting customer service here! I can relate to another review about typically not needing help & finding your way around. When it comes to needing help, you don't really get any here! Even when i had a confused looked look on my face surrounded by 5 associates. I was completely ignored; nobody asked if I needed help finding anything. I even attempted to approach someone & they turned the other way! I love Craft Warehouse & their products. But when it comes down to needing help, I unfortunately had an unpleasant experience. I go to Craft Warehouse when I must get something and don't want to venture farther, but that's about the only reason I would bother. In my experience, Craft Warehouse means wandering aimlessly until I either find what I need or give up- since I can't remember the last time I've actually been offered help by an associate. It is fun to puruse the scrapbooking isle and check out the million stamps they offer. But if you are looking for an in and out trip, or aren't so craft saavy that you know the place by heart, I just don't think this is the best store for you. read more

Since I no longer live anywhere near a Craft Warehouse, I've liked to treat myself to a bit of shopping here when I travel in this area. But my last couple of experiences here have left me less than impressed, and I'm not sure I'll shop here again. The time before this last trip, nearly every item in my basket rang up incorrectly. I love a good bargain, so I was purchasing items that were marked down. Each time one rang up incorrectly, the clerk would call someone to check on the price. It took longer and longer for someone to respond, and finally I took the clerk directly to the signs for the mark-downs on the last two items. Of course the customers waiting in line were annoyed, but so was I! My transaction took ten times longer than it should have, and I received no apology for all of the trouble their mistakes caused. This last time I made what I thought was a great purchase: their Fiskars gel pens were marked as originally being $29.99 but were on sale for $18.88. I bought them, and now that I am back home, I've checked around and found them for around $14.25, with the original price being anywhere from $15.07 to $18.25. So I guess the point is to mark the merchandise way up and then put it on sale? Their sale price was higher than the original price of the ones I found. I can see being a dollar or so higher, but the price they claim as the regular price was twice what some of them go for. Buyer beware! As for the comments on the employees, I'd have to say it is pretty much hit or miss. Some act like they'd rather have a tooth pulled than to help wait on a customer, while some are very pleasant and helpful. To be honest, I've found more of the pleasant ones, but it is kind of difficult to find anyone available to help when you need someone. read more

Great location. Extremely helpful and personable staff. Went in a few months ago to start making flower crowns and bounced ideas off of one of the workers for half an hour. She kept a great conversation while still keeping busy cleaning, straightening up, etcetera. Went back the next week to show her my work. Super great place. read more

Great all around craft store, has a little bit of everything and usually has what I want. Lots of sections to browse for if you're in the market for new things to try! Always has great deals and sales. I rarely need to ask for help locating items because the sections are so well laid out. read more

If I could leave a "no star" review I would. Let me start off with the store is awesome, lots of things to see and make. The store itself it very cool. This review is for two older, mean, nasty ladies and the "Manager" at the time this happened. I happened to get one of the older ladies name before I left , Gabriella. A little background we were in the store for about an hour with Me, my sons ages 1 and 9. They were playing with the display items the store. We were up front for about 90% of the time we were there. There were about 6 employees up front at the time that were super nice, played with the kids, and asked them questions. However, we went and ate lunch to return back for a craft they were having for the kids a little later. When we got there we went to the back to get ready for the craft for the kids. My 1 year old found the FOAM swords and my 9 year old played with him while we shopped. (Let me go ahead and say: no I'm not one of those moms who let their kids play with whatever they want and leave things all over the place, I spend a lot of time saying no and picking things up to show my 1 year old so he won't touch.) They were playing with them, well as much as a 1 YEAR OLD can, I was about 10-15 feet away. The next thing I knew two older ladies came from out of nowhere yelling at my kids (and yes the 1 year old too), yanked the swords out of their hands, knocking my baby off balance. The baby then began to cry. One of the ladies told them that if they hadn't bought them they didn't need to touch them. I looked over at the two ladies and told them that under no circumstances were they to touch my children and if they were aware that 1/2 the store was toys and display toys for the kids to try and to play with. At this point I knew I was getting mad and that nothing good was going to come of it. So I went to look for the manager of the store. I found her pretty soon after, told her about what happened and this was her response: "Well I had two employees see them play with the toys" I looked at her at swallowed my madness and calmed down and said yes, my 1 year old had a sword that he was looking at, there are also 10 other kids in here playing with all of the toys including the ones YOU HAVE OUT FOR THEM TO PLAY WITH!!! She said "Well....." at that point I knew I was getting no where, no would i get there to understand. I thought about returning what I had bought, but honestly I didn't feel like spending another second in that store. I left. i called the Beaverton store, in which they apologized for my horrible service I thanked them and requested the district number. I called the district office and talked to one of the district managers. After a while of talking to him (yes i don't know his name I was on the phone with a general number and never got his name) I basically got that he would look into it, that if the kids were playing with the toys YOU SHOULD BUY THEM (by the way I don't see how a 1/2 toy filled store with displays toys for kids to play with would push the "don't touch" rule). He was nice and listened to what i had to say, but wasn't assuring in any way. I was assured that the "tapes would be reviewed" by the manager and district office. My question or request is the same... I think I want review the tapes, watch the older ladies yank the toys out of my kids hands, touching them, making my 1 year old fall and get upset. I do not want coupons, or a free whatever, i just wanted justice for the horrible way my children were treated in essentially a toy story. I will NEVER go back and I hope others who have children read this and seriously think twice about going in or taking their kids in. My kids are important and they are the reason I'm even in the store in the first place. We will go to other places that are nicer and more respectful. If you are looking for a craft store in Gresham, skip this one! You will be better off. read more

The store has improved tremendously. I love how there is a huge dedicated space dedicated to bead lovers, awesome. However, there is one reason, and one reason only why I am taking the time to write this review in the first place and that is because of the completely clueless staff working back in the beading section. This is the second time I have had a poor experience with staff in the beading area. The first time I was looking for beads, I stopped and asked one of the ladies at the single cash register in the back but she was too busy "beading" to help me look for beads- go figure! The irony is hilarious. She told me that the lady who would know better than her was at lunch. I wanted to say,"What you mean to tell me is, your too busy beading to actually do your freaking job and help me, I get it." So now, this is the second time I have had this similar (only worse this time) experience with the oh so brilliantly (insert sarcasm) trained staff at Craft Warehouse. I was in the beading area TODAY around 3pm, and I asked the THREE 20 something ladies standing in the beading section if they had a certain beading material. The response? Deer in headlights. Oh, sorry I had to interrupt your gossiping about the other people you don't like working with. So they had no clue what I was talking about and made no attempt to get moving and help me look for the requested item. Instead they continued to gossip in whispered tones. On the other hand, when I reached the front counter there was a SUPER kind, knowledgeable lady in her 40's who not only wanted to help, but stopped and walked all the way to the back of the store to help me find the item. Craft Warehouse didn't have it, but what mattered is that someone actually stopped to help me look for it and didn't look at me like I was a jerk for interrupting their conversation. So, as far as staff goes, I am not impressed but seriously disappointed. As for materials, I have seen way better supplies at other large crafting stores. They obviously are not keeping with what is popular in the beading world because they lack many supplies that have become very popular by European bead artists. read more

This review is for the picture framing department only. You can either have a 5-star experience, or a 1-star one depending on who helps you at the counter. As far as I can tell there is only one talented picture frame designer there anymore. There were others 5-10 years ago, but they are gone now. The good one is VERY good and I don't know why she's not at an upscale shop. I do not know her name, but she is from England, and she does a fantastic job, has great taste, makes good suggestions and really knows her stuff. She can be trusted to assist you in creating a fantastic piece of finished work. She's beyond good. I think her name may be Christina or Catherine-- If I find out I'll add a post. There are other employees, some are merely average- what you'd expect at a place like this. However, one woman is rude and overbearing and seems uneducated about art, and uncaring about her customers. If my husband and I see her at the counter we turn, leave and either head into "real" frame shops in Portland, or wait until some day when we see the English lady is there. We are not alone in this evaluation. Other friends have said they avoid the Craft Warehouse framing department like the plague if that obnoxious woman is at the counter, and if the English woman is not. read more

My husband and I recently went here to find some picture frames. Inside they had great sales some being 50% off! When we got to the register the frame did ring up on sale and the clerk said she thought the sale was only on custom frames. My husband told her the frames had a sign above them saying 50% off. She called the frame department who was very adamant the only frames on sale where custom frames. My husband went with the clerk to show her and sure enough there was a 50% off sign so they came back and started checking us out again. Just then a woman from the frame department comes storming through the store YELLING that absolutely NO frames were on sale except custom frames and they were not going to sell us those for 50% off. The clerk informed her that she just went back there and checked herself and they were on sale. The woman continued to yell at the clerk and my husband that they were absolutely not on sale and she better take her back there and show her. We were stunned that this woman was seriously yelling at us and at the clerk so we just walked out. I still can not believe how unprofessional some of the workers are there. I was a loyal customer not only to craft warehouse but to this specific one but I will never set foot in this store again after this experience. read more

What a beautiful store! We need one on the WEST SIDE, preferably in the Tigard/Tualatin area. The store was well-stocked with interesting products and, what a concept, lots of people on the floor that are not only knowledgeable but will actually HELP you. The manager of the papercrafting dept was AMAZING (she's gone to CHA conferences and really knows the product lines). It was evident that all of their employees have gotten good training and really like what they are doing. JoAnn (with the exception of the 82nd store) & Michaels should get a clue. . read more

Craft warehouse used to be pretty good, then the store moved to a trendier mall. Now, unless you want to make a very expensive scrap book or do something with fake flowers it is a major waste of gas and I only live 2 miles away. I am writing this after about my 5th visit in two months in which they simply don't carry something really basic. Like small bottles of acrylic paint that can be used for things that are going outdoors. As in, the only outdoor paint they had was on the discontinued shelf and there were about three really weird colors available. I'm a little confused because they do sell those useless wooden bird houses that people are supposed to be artistic with. I mean I know they aren't actually functional as bird houses but where do they think people will put them? Lets see, they are also highly deficient in sculpting products, colored sand, quality stretched canvases, etc. Don't waste your time, don't waste your money, and save yourself a lot of irritation because your chances of finding what you need are just as good at Fred Meyers and otherwise you just have to go to a Michaels. read more
