Where can you start with this sad shell of a past honey hole for us native "crackers". This place used to be one of the hidden gems in Naples, back when it was all about NAPLES LIFE, swamp buggies, gators and natives eating REAL smoked meats from a rolling smoker that you could smell before you saw the rolling smoke from the road. Now under "new ownership" they sink a ton of money into a ship that is sinking fast! The manager/wana-be owner does more talking and drinking at the bar with customers that doing her job and showing passion for the food! The menu is mediocre at best with classic offerings that would normally make your mouth water, but alas the lack of cooking skills in this kitchen makes the food no better than prison slop. The smoked meats have BARELY any smoke flavor and that's from either liquid smoke or a waste of money pellet smoker...ZERO smoke ring on the meats and you will NEVER see smoke rolling from any kind of smoker mainly due to the kitchen staff having no more ability than your standard lunch ladies. The remaining staff is ok at best...I have eaten here more times than you can count and there are MAYBE 2 "female" bartender/servers that make it worth coming back, but not for the food LOL. If your looking for all your food to come out WRONG, COLD or just plain tasting like fish, cause they don't know how to fry seafood ONLY in one fryer, then stop on in for a disappointing meal, don't forget to talk to the owner and mention that the biggest waste of money he has spent is his poor excuse for a Manager/kitchen manager/chef/"owner" and tell him to cut the fat hire someone with SKILL and passion or he will be checking into that heartbreak hotel soon!!! read more

Where to start? I ordered gator tail and greens for my dinner the waiter said the sides all come out together at the same time. Okay well I was just telling you my order. We also ordered the fried okra as a side to share. My daughter ordered the little cheeseburgers and fries. I can't say how they were. My husband got the grouper. OMG it was horrendous. It was suppose to be grilled but, it was petrified. Hard and plasticky.  My gator bites were very very good. I'm from Florida so I've had them quite a few times at different restaurants. Best ever hands down. These were big chunks of tail. They were cooked perfect. The okra was very good as well. Now for the vittles. A bunch of dishes that we did not order or want showed up first before the food. About 15 minutes before the food we ordered, the fish, gator and burgers. The vittles dishes were white beans tasted like they were poured in the bowl from a can, mash potatoes and gravy my husband ordered with his meal was good but, cold by the time his plastic fish arrived. There was also a bowl of stewed tomatoes. I was expecting them to taste like the ones they serve for breakfast in England but no...these ones were sweet. Like candy sweet. I liked them a lot. One of the best parts of the meal. The rest of the vittles I don't remember but, the corn and zucchini muffins. I had key lime pie to go. Needless to say it tasted spoiled. So that was a waste of money. Those were good as well. Our waiter never return to refill our drinks or ask about the food. He seemed kinda put off he had to work and smiling or be plesant, so the whole experience was a bit weird. I think they waste a lot of food by offering about 6 dishes that you don't order. Lower the prices add the vittles items to the sides menu and charge separately for people to order if they want them. Otherwise it's a wate of food, money and store profits. So very overpriced for the poor quality of food. read more

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS 98 minutes after order placed still NO FOOD everyone else all around us eating! tables that came in after us I timed how long till they got their food never longer than 20 minutes. kept getting excuses from Waitress. Ordered a Chef Salad pulled pork barbecue chicken and Ribs. not like it was something that wasn't already in th smoker almost cooked??? placed a to go order came out in 10 minutes for here had to take back and put in Boxes. We should of eaten that because nothing else CAME? after 98 minutes (yes I'm in the industry and have been for 35 years) I told waitress to take all the food off of my check and bring me Bill for 4 Beers . Took another 10 minutes to find Dave the Manager and another 10 for her to come tell me i owe $29.00. Couldn't produce a check couldn't show me how I owed that but I gave her $40.00 told her I wanted change and waited 10 more minutes for that and Finally gave up because it is now 8:10 we haven't eaten yet..... Suck handled poorly and wouldn't Recommend for Anyone. Oh Yeah her excuse was the kitchen was taking 90 minutes for orders last weekend and they only do one check at a time.... First time. Very impressed. Could have a more wider variety spread of sides but the mashed potatoes were great and the tenders were awesome. The batter on the tenders was the best! So much flavor! read more

Went to dinner here, most of the employees were not wearing masks, saying it was not mandatory. Saw several parties come in and leave for that reason. We finished our meal as our server was wearing one, but will not go back because of the lack of precautions the employees were taking. read more

Dinner at Cracklin' Jacks feels at once like a natural fit in South Florida, and still, a break from the routine of the standard offerings in the region. The menu is broad, and if you can fry it, they likely have it. I found Cracklin' Jacks first as a fan of Weisenberger Mills in Midway, Kentucky noticing that this outpost just outside the Everglades was sourcing some of the best corn meal and grits from water mill along the Bourbon Trail. That kind of particularity to quality ingredients was attractive and gave me the sense that Cracklin' Jacks would not be simple cafeteria fare but would take seriously making a high quality interpretation of old favourites. The vittles are not really the star, here, I'm sorry to say. While the greens were good and the white beans especially tasty, a plate of pickles and raw onions were simply unappealing. The cornbread is good--a bit sweeter and more muffin-like than I'm used to, but still very tasty. And while these plates are 'all you can eat', once Jack gets busy, you may have a hard time getting more before your fish is out of the fryer. For me, the star was fried catfish. The batter--that delicious Weisenberger flours mixing with a bit of cayenne for a beautiful crunch and spice--and moist, juicy fish inside. While Cracklin' Jacks offers up gator, as restaurants in Florida are wont to do, alligator tends to be chewy and salty even in the most careful of preparations. When we left, my dad and I spotted a hulking fried chicken and a rack of ribs that seemed like more of a dare to be eaten than a normal dinner for one. The chicken in particular looked divine--a big, plump bird--and I for one will be back soon to give it a try. read more

We loved this place at their old location. For some reason, it just did not all come together for us at their new spot. The staff was very mixed. Some were courteous and helpful while others made us feel unwelcome and even uncomfortable. Lots of food. But I'm not sure the quality matched the quantity. read more

We stopped for lunch and were pleased with the food and the server. Our waitress Crystal was prompt and helpful. The fried oysters were tender and perfectly cooked. I will NEVER go back here. While their fried chicken is good, nothing else is. I got 1/2 bbq chicken, and it wasn't cooked. I didn't notice because of all the bbq sauce smothered on it. When I took a good look at it, it was red and bloody....also didn't notice because of the bbq sauce. I could get SALMONELLA! When I returned the food, they said they were still going to charge me for the vittles. I don't care about crappy vittles. Went there for Mothers Day/Birthday lunch 1 pm. No Mothers Day specials, only regular lunch menu. When I Asked about Sawgrass Shrimp, was told not available till dinner menu. Both of us ordered Shrimp/Scallops meal. Never got my onion casserole and cole slaw. THINGS have sure changed in my 17 years going there. GREASE! Both of us got sick from the grease. This used to be my favorite seafood restaurant in Naples. It's really gone down hill. Big price increases, lots of menu changes. I left there heartbroken. We will never go back. read more

There tonight with a group of people. The meal was to my surprise, VG!!! Service was great for us 11 pp. The Chicken fried steak was the freshest, most tender pieces I've ever had. The batter was very fresh, can easily cut these pieces with a fork! And of course the white (sausage?) gravy was perfect. The many side dishes (vittles) can be replaced many times if you prefer with your meal. It was served in place of a salad for an additional $7.99. On the table was a bowl of very creamy Cole slaw that was excellent and bran and corn muffins in another bowl. Some friends had the BBQ ribs which were excellent and the meatiest white meat chicken tenders (from the chicken breasts) that were great. Another had a basket of fried oysters that looked good also. Generous portions at very reasonable prices. My ONLY complaint was that we all sat down just as this duo started on their guitars and singing and it was offensively too loud, difficult to hear others talk around the table, too noisy given the small area. Looking forward to going back but not on a night they're playing music. But you won't be disappointed here. Enjoy!! Came back the next day for lunch and again enjoyed another meal (Chicken Tenders) posted the pictures. My wife enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak that I had a night earlier. I'm hooked on this place. Bayou Platter is the way to go!! Also, have done catfish dinner just as good......... the homemade vittles are always fresh and never leave hungry. when in Naples fl you ask a local to point you to a good restaurant. this was one of the two choices he gave us. the food tasted fresh down to the French fries. however they use a seasoning for the hush puppies, deep fried seafood and fried liver that make it all taste almost the same. my fish was well cooked good and flaky the staff was fast and professional. read more

Another visit to Dad, another trip to this place. Last time it was hot out and we stayed inside with the A/C. This time it was too cold inside, so took Dad to eat outside. He got the catfish, and our amazing waitress helped me choose between two dishes by getting me a little of both. The sides, as usual, were amazing. Both of us ate waaaaaay too much. Vittles are next which is typically an assortment of side dishes. Lastly is whatever you ordered. The fried chicken is good and so are the ribs and cat fish. Attitude of waitress a bit poor and I deducted a star for it. Hearing her f bomb customers after answering the phone is awkward. This is a decent place and the reviews were pretty accurate. The vittals are just OK, greens are good as is the coleslaw but the beans, mashed potatoes and hash brown casserole is ok at best. Definitely not the best part of the meal. But, the really good part is the catfish and shrimp - nice and fresh. Also, service was really great. Seemed like a busy evening but Becky did a great job checking in and being very attentive. Seemed like all the staff pitch in nicely. I took a piece of pecan pie to go and was pleasantly surprised by the size and the quality. You could tell it was freshly made and had great flavor. thought we'd try this place since it was close to our condo. Our server was great. However, the food was less than desired. All the sides were brought out, (mashed potatoes, collard greens, beans and carrots), way before our entrees. i got Mahi Mahi grilled and it was so dry, good thing I had tartar sauce! My husband ordered the pulled pork. Not the greatest either. By the time our entrees came out the other food was tepid. The veggie of the day was carrots. We think they were canned! Amazing restaurant, great food, Katrina server from New Jersey and owner Vinnie are wonderful. This place is a diamond in the rough. Outdoor seating available although we sat inside. Viddles were to die for, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, beans n ham, greens, muffins and the alligator bites were so good. We shared the grouper special which came with rice and had food leftover to bring home. If we lived in the area, this place would be an absolute favorite. Highly recommend. read more

This place was crazy good! And I don't say that hardly ever. From the moment we walked in to when we walked out the staff was kind and friendly and helpful (the real kind, not the faking it for a paycheck) we were checked on repeatedly and well it was just a real pleasure to receive this kind of service. We ordered gator bites, and grilled chicken over dirty rice and Cajun shrimp with sausage over rice. The portion size was WAY MORE THAN 2 people should ever eat. The taste was excellent, all of it. The sides were greens, with were also great, beans, really good, mashed potatoes, on point, gravy, Cole slaw, I had a 2nd helping and no I didn't need it but it was so good. The also severed corn bread, and a carrot cake, and hush puppies. All this and we stayed past closing time and they were all just as pleased and happy to have us. Other restaurant owners need to go here and find out how they do it and learn! As we are from Texas, We stopped here on a drive from Miami to Tampa and Yelp popped them up... they are better than the rating!! I'll come again if I ever come back to Naples. read more

Don't let the outside scare you away. It's a restaurant and smoke house. The food is excellent and a large variety to choose from chicken,ribs,fish,etc smoked or fried. I tend to order the Liver and Onions one of the few places who cook it correctly with a large amount of sautéed onions. My wife loves their chicken the 3 piece deep fried and of course we also get the fixins which include spuds, with gravy, white beans (delicious) some times Turnip greens and other selections which depends on the cooks state of mind that day. Zucchini and corn muffins are great. Give it a try you will not be disappointed. read more

Initially thought the atmosphere seemed quaint, but quickly soured. The place was not very busy upon our visit, however, they chose to seat us directly under a ceiling fan running at top speed. We placed our order and waited over 20 minutes before being served our meals, and when they did they bring them out they only brought half of my friend's order, saying they didn't want the chicken portion to sit while the shrimp portion was prepared (??). What does one have to do with the other when actually serving the meal. Took another 15 minutes before the chicken portion was brought out and my friend had already nearly finished. There was never a napkin provided, and when we requested a napkin they brought over a pile of "cocktail" napkins....... cocktail napkins for eating a meal, really? When we ordered I had asked to have a to-go order ready when we finished; that never arrived with check and had to wait another 15 minutes for that. My friend has ordered chicken & shrimp for his salad; the menu listed a $3 & $5 up-charge for that (understandable). When we got the check he was charged $5 & $8 (an extra $5 over the menus process). When we pointed out the posted menu price the wait staff simply tried to say the the menu prices were old and had gone up; they never offered to correct the error, but simply insisted the menu was wrong......... actually quite illegal! The ceiling fan was so high that it blow the "cocktail" napkins all over and off the table. Needless to say we won't ever be back. read more

Cracklin' Jacks has the best southern cooking in the Naples area. There are so many great items on the menu it is hard to choose, but my favorite is the fried chicken!! The taste is heavenly and the chicken is moist and juicy. The brisket, ribs and prime rib are all stellar! All meals are served with unlimited vittles including corn and zucchini muffins, cole slaw, pickles and onions, butter beans, onion casserole, greens, mashed potato and gravy and stewed tomatoes. All delicious! Service is very friendly and welcoming. Laid back vibe. Live music. Great HH prices $3.95 for well drinks. Mostly locals dine here but tourists should check it out. I'm rating a one star because there's no option for a zero. The service was horrendous, none of the servers wanted to accommodate our group of eleven. Our server was a female was very hostile and was VERY discriminating to our Hispanic group, was screaming throughout the restaurant, yelling at her co-workers, swearing, and threatening that she was quitting her job and saying she was going leave. It was completely embarrassing to be there. She never once excused herself, nor did the manager. NEVER going there again. On top of everything they got two of our orders wrong. Good ol' southern eatin'! In typical southern fashion, most things are fried & greasy. The wooden barn like surrounding fits the bill when in the Glades. Gator bites were a fave, frog legs weren't as tender as they could've been & seemed a bit stale? All others were typical of what's expected when ordering comfort foods.
