A fabulous early dinner here and then we spent the night in the campervan. While there isn't dedicated RV parking here, we were undisturbed for the night as Cracker Barrel is fabulous for supporting the vanlifers by letting us use their parking lot for overnight. There's a "If you're eating, we ask that you please purchase a meal" and so we did. Mrs. K. enjoyed the trout with carrots and a baked potato. I chose the meatloaf with mac & cheese and green beans. Everything arrived pretty quickly and as we ordered, along with a basket of biscuits. A pretty solid portion - enough that the biscuits went into a box and were our breakfast this morning. Service was terrible and the biscuits were like concrete. The roast beef was tender; however the gravy was so salty it ruined the taste. My mashed potatoes were hard and Luke warm. EDIT 1/09/23 I'M SO UPSET RIGHT NOW I CAN HARDLY STAND IT! I was just informed that the female coworker who was being stalked and eventually popped on the butt with a towel was fired. let me break it down, she gets popped on the butt after being told by one of her managers to watch out for him, that he had been standing too close to her. she returned to work on the 7th at this point she was under the impression that her abuser had been fired, but he was working, she was confused, due to the fact that she saw the footage from security that confirmed at 5:53 p.m. on January 2nd she was popped in the butt by the male coworker. when she told the manager she was extremely uncomfortable and couldn't work with someone that stalked and sexually abused her, she was told she could leave and then was escorted out of the building. She also called Jami another female manager and talked to her about it, her response was "How many times has it happened?" which she responded with once... jami responded "you know how many times I've had ass smacked" I'm still in shock......... these are women that this girl trusted.....; EDIT: 1/04/23 I'M EDITING THIS DUE TO A RECENT ISSUE MY HUSBANDS FEMALE COWORKER HAS WENT THROUGH IN JUST THESE FIRST 4 DAYS OF 2023: A female coworker of his was asked by a manager if she knew a particular dishwasher, due to the way he would just stand behind her and stare. This coworker had no clue who the guy is, so she was told to keep her eye on him just in case. That was about a week ago, flash-forward to January 1st. his coworker is working doing her job when she feels something hit her butt, when she turned around the dishwasher was standing there with a towel. she was shocked, not only was she assaulted at work but she was being harassed. she immediately goes to Debby, who quickly told her that she was too busy for her, the girl stood there shaken and in shock and after 20 minutes of being ignored she went to Paula the retail manager. Paula's response was why did you wait so long to report it. and I'll check the videos. when Paula came back after checking the videos she informed the server that there was no proof so nothing could be done. she then told the girl that she better not call corporate. no report was made until January 3rd when it was brought up to a manager that wasn't even in the building at the time...... this all happened 2 weeks after the managers pull the same girl into the office and FORCE her to delete a video of the GM getting spoken to like she speaks to her associates. they made her unlock her iphone, go to her photos, her recently deleted photos and delete all copies of said video. I MIGHT BE WRONG BUT ISN'T THERE A LAW PROTECTING US AND OUR PERSONAL PROPERTY? This is a review on a particular associate, a manager to be more specific, Debbie. My husband works for this sorry excuse for a leader. Today in particular was the straw that broke the camels back for me. There's over a foot of snow and ice on the road, our pipes have been frozen for days now, my husband calls Debbie concerned about the road conditions and being able to get to work safely, he had attempted to find someone to pick him up. It was 6 a.m. so no one could help and the show is also still falling. Debbie replied to him with "call a cab" when he said he culdn't pay, she responded very aggressively I'll pay this time, but never again this is not my problem". So it's not Debbie's problem that she is putting her employee's safety at risk to serve food to people who probably shouldn't be out in this weather. How is this a manager for your store? "Pleasing people, we treat our guest and employees like family" is your motto and yet Debbie treats her employees like they're just a number that can be replaced. would you tell your family member that it's not your problem if they couldn't make it to your house for Christmas? No you would tell you family member that you will miss them and to stay safe during this weather. This is just 1 item on a laundry list of things this woman has done to my husband that at one point actually put him in the hospital due to his mental health. Something needs to be done about her. She obviously needs to be retrained and taught how management in 2022 lead a team. This isn't 1990 anymore MANAGERS ARE NOT DICTATORS. read more

Great time good food. Husband got the sampler plate w/meatloaf, fried chicken breast and chicken dumplings and two sides. Everything was delicious. I had the chicken and dumplings, added a bit of black pepper and it was great, especially with the cornbread muffins. Tried the new cherry lemonade. It was more tart than cherry. This is a review for the Cracker Barrel at 33 Brian Dr in Mayfield. We are from out of town and are always excited to see a Cracker Barrel. This time was a real let down. First we were seated in a completely empty part of the restaurant right next to the kitchen. There was another dining room where others were seated but for whatever reason we weren't seated there. We figured perhaps they were staggering customers for the waitstaff. Then, while waiting to order our food and receive it there was an employee walking around moving and slamming chairs around to sweep under tables. She even went so far as to doing so right behind where we were seated. I'm all about keeping things clean but come on, the banging? Really? Next came the food. I've always ordered their breakfast even for lunch and dinner but this time I chose differently, and it proved to be a mistake. I ordered the combo with fried chicken and chicken and dumplings. The chicken was decent enough, nothing to rave about. The dumplings on the other hand were not "chicken and dumplings" but more a bowl of dumplings with goopy sauce and one random small piece of chicken. The meal was disappointing at best. My husband ordered the fried chicken and from what I could tell he was underwhelmed with his meal. The waitress was polite and efficient. I can't say we won't ever go to a Cracker Barrel (not this one) but we will definitely be choosing breakfast from here on out. read more

Pretty good most of the time when I order. I usually do to go orders. They do a pretty good job, except with the condiments. It seems they get confused when I have asked for extra dressing or steak sauce. Sometimes I only get 1, sometimes I don't get any. Or I get the total opposite of what I asked for. Like thousand island instead of honey mustard. And if I order dessert that had ice cream I will automatically get it one time and told I have to ask for it the next. If I could give less stars, I would. Holy cow. First of all, the waitress asked me three times in less than ten min if I was ready to order. I wasn't. But I went ahead and ordered. Our appetizer came and they forgot the sauce it came with. Then the chicken was gross, like it had been sitting out for a while.... And the okra was sticky and gross.. Not fresh. My French fries were cold. The hash something or other was no good. The Mac and cheese and the tea were good. But we were highly dissatisfied with our experience. read more

This restaurant is a regular stop for us when traveling through Western Kentucky. The service has always been good, there is rarely a long wait for a table, and the menu offers lots of choices. The waitress on our most recent visit (named Shelby) was especially friendly and efficient. We are glad to note that this location shows no signs of the devastation caused by tornadoes in December 2021, although plenty of evidence remains alongside the highways. read more

Ruined my birthday breakfast. Went in on a hunch because how bad could it be? I expected a nice 21st birthday breakfast and its not what I left with. They wouldnt serve alcohol despite showing a credible id, which I wouldve been nice because the food was awful too. Runny, watery, I took one bite from each dish and it was my last. Overall 0/10 will never return. That one guy who talked to us was a dick. The only saving grace was the waitress, she was nice. Worst service I have ever gotten from a cracker barrel. Was hard to even get seated because apparently it's policy they can't sit until everyone is here. Debby, the manager, is one of the rudest people i have met and is not professional at all. Whoever tells their customers to go eat somewhere else should not be managing a company. I would never go out of my way to be rude to someone but the way she treated us made it hard for me to bite my tongue. The food was great and even our waitress destiny was amazing, but being disrespected as soon as you walk into eat doesn't make for the best meal. If Debby was not there the experience would have been great, but she decided to ruin the whole experience of my family and I eating. read more

We're on a 9 hour road trip back home, and we wanted something to eat. I suggested cracker barrel since they usually have good food. We waited an HOUR. The place wasn't even full. Just as we were about to leave, our food came. I ordered the same thing like always, a hot cocoa, mac and cheese, and french fries. Everything turned out good for my order. There are 4 of us, they forgot a sausage that one of my friends ordered and the fried chicken was rubbery, and greasy. Customer service wasn't great either. They got rid of the salt pepper sugar and creamer packets too, overall this would be 2 star but the rest of the food was hot and good. I wouldn't recommend going there. read more

If you have nothing but time on your hands this is the place for you. I will be the first to admit that I do expect good service when I go to any restaurant but this is only the second time in my life I have walked out without getting served. Eight am on a Saturday morning and there is nobody to greet you or seat you. After a couple of minutes a server took care of us.After that it all went down hill. We sat in a section that was about 50% full.There were two servers in our section.Both of the servers totally ignored us.They walked by us a minimum of 8 times and never brought us coffee or acknowledged that we were still breathing. After 15 minutes my wife asked me if we should leave and we did. I know the food at Cracker Barrels is good but the service at this particular store was unacceptable. read more

Cracker Barrel is not a 'fast food,in and out' sort of place. You go there when you have time to leisurely dine, chat with your friends or family, not checking your phone, ' gotta hurry' sort of pace. Ladies bring their lady friends, you can bring kids, but you don't get a happy meal in a bag. The food is always very good, the coffee, I've had salads, breakfasts and dinners over the years. In winter, you linger over a cup of something hot, with a dessert and enjoy the warmth of the big hearth. Another great perk: the lanterns as well as the windows are scrubbed everyday and just shine. May of us still appreciate those little touches. Great place! read more

Would have given more stars but the waitress who you could tell was slightly over run needed more help with our group, which she got only after several complaints to a very poor manager. When I arrived we asked if I could move my table and join the group that we had. We were told no which ok I get it maybe a covid policy or something. So I got my two kids (4 and 1 y/o) in there seats. Then the manager(Debbie) came over and was very rude. She said yal are moving over here. Not knowing who she was I said well the staff just said we couldn't move there ma'm. She stated, " Well you asked the wrong person". So I moved my two babies so I could help move the table and I hear her say to my nephew. "Well next time go to a cracker barrell somewhere else". So I told her we would move the chairs and tables thank you for letting us do this and could she please get us some bread. She stormed off and a new waitress returned with bread. Food was good and with two waitresses we never waited on drinks and if we asked for something they made sure we had it. As long as Debbie is the manager here I will never recommend this place. She has poor management/leadership skills. You should lead by example, If waitresses/other customers see you talking to customers like that it sets the wrong example. Plus, Debbie spent most of our time there in the corner with staff members pointing and talking about the table like she is in high school. Went for breakfast this morning. Ended up leaving before we were served. Actually ended up leaving before we were even acknowledged at our table. Let me start by saying that it was before 8am and the restaurant was not crowded at all. It took at least 5 minutes for a hostess to even approach the people waiting to be seated. Then we sat at a table waiting (at least 15 minutes) for someone, anyone to acknowledge us. But we received nothing. Not even an "I'll be with you as soon as I can". We had passed by a mom and pop restaurant because we thought we knew what to expect from Cracker Barrel. We actually ended up going back there. So glad we did. Not only was the food great. The price was about half of we would have paid at Cracker barrel. And the service was fantastic. read more

To start. Our server was great. Very attentive and awesome. But other than that, we just had such a bad experience. We were seated right by the kitchen and entrance. I have two kids and it's hard to hear them when you have a busy seating area to your right and a slammed kitchen to your left. We asked if we could move to one of the other 4 empty tables behind us. The greeter was very short with us " No we have graduation and we aren't moving you once it's in the computer". I get it. But I'm still paying 60 bucks for breakfast. And as someone who had worked in the food industry, I can't relax with my family while staring into a slammed kitchen. The tables were empty the entire time we were there. The food came in about 40 minutes. A long time but I understand they were kinda busy. I ordered a bacon and ham and cheese omelet . I got charged for a side of bacon 3.50. So my 9 dollar omelet was now 12.50. Little stuff like that is frustrating. A side of bacon is three pieces. There was one piece in the omelet. Eating here when they are busy is just stressful. Mangers with iPads scowling. So much noise. Just not worth the 60 bucks when other breakfast places want your business. read more

Something has changed at Murray Cracker Barrel. The vegetables were terrible today! The green beans were under cooked, tasted like a different recipe. The carrots were not the same, not seasoned at all. If you want chicken DONT get the grilled, VERY SMALL portions. Where we were seated was freezing. We had to ask three times for the fan to be turned off. Still on when we left. Used to be one of my favorite places to eat. read more
