I realized that water was puddling at the bottom of the basement wall when it rained. The water was also hidden under the concrete. Even when the keyway looked nearly dry, I could feel water, mud and wet rocks under the concrete floor. Days went by and panic began to set in; I wasn't sure who could fix something like this. It would be a huge job to rip up the driveway and fix the water problem from the outside. I needed someone to fix the wall leak and the hole under the slab. It had to be done from the inside. Luckily, I found B. Altman's Waterproofing. I figured I would call and leave a message (it was already late but I wanted to put a call in and get the ball rolling) Surprisingly, the owner answered. He had me send photos of the basement wall, floor etc. Barry analyzed the situation quickly. He realized the wall had a long crack as well. He answered all my questions and described why and how leaks like this occur. He assured me that the problem was very fixable. Two days later, Barry's technician, Marcos arrived promptly at 9am. He spent the entire day fixing the problem. He cleaned out the crack in the wall and added epoxy injections all along the damaged areas. Then he filled in the cracked keyway. Marcos was a true professional, his work was clean and he kept my house neat; even making sure to use a drop cloth everywhere he worked. The job was finished in one day! About a week later Staten Island had what was called the wettest December ever. Floods were everywhere in the tristate area. It was about 2 days worth of nonstops rainfall! Two of my neighbors told me that they had to use a shop vac to dry up the rain that had entered their basements, but my basement was actually dry for once! Thank you B. This job was done by Tony's Masonry and A.N.S. Restoration. I have to say that these guys are amazing! They truly live up to their motto "Done once, done right". Tim, Val, and Tony of Tony's Masonry and Nick and Tony of A.N.S. Restoration, and their crew are all professionals of the highest caliber. They are all very hard-working, very knowledgeable, meticulous people. The quality of their work and attention to details is impeccable. They worked fast, and even though we have encountered a number of unexpected problems (e.g., rebuilding the roof parapet was not originally anticipated) which added a few extra days to the project, they finished work ahead of schedule. Nick and Tony (A.N.S. Restoration) did a wonderful job with the waterproofing. They pointed out and took care of a number of small problems we didn't know existed (e.g., changed a downspout, replaced vent covers, caulked every little crack, around foundation, around widows and vents). When all work was completed, they left everything spotless. We are extremely happy with the quality of their work and would highly recommend both Tony's Masonry and A.N.S. Signed a contract that had a DCA number on it that I later found out was revoked. Showed up twice, botched the job and never came back. Would originally say he would be at the house at a certain time and never showed or called. Now he doesn't even return phone calls. Let's see if he responds to the court summons he got sent last week. The Murphy brothers also do business as Richmond County Waterproofing. Same gypsies, same scam, just a different name.

He promised to remove the cement. When I called he said he would return the light and remove the cement. He never did and hangs up on me when I call. My motherinlaw is 88 and a sweetheart, she is so anxious about the cement she can't get rid of and her drop light that she has had for years. I'm left trying to figure out the solution. Very sad that this man was so unscrupulous and took advantage of an 88 year old woman. Pathetic.

If you read other reviews, you'll find that their positive experiences mirrored mine. Without hesitation I would recommend Jersey Dry. If you want to know more about my experience, continue reading. Our house had basement water leakage caused by storms for decades before I decided enough was enough and began to research and search for a solution which was the installation of perimeter French drains. I was also apprehensive and cautious to identify the right company who was going to dig up the basement floor in a nearly 100-year-old house. Initially I was planning to interview three contractors and after the third visit I was perplexed by the differences in their proposals. Each recommended a French drain trench along the perimeter of all four walls, but there were differences such as the placement of the exterior discharge pipe, the location of the trench relative to the furnace, type of piping, and duration of work. Regarding piping, one uses PVC; another the flexible perforated, corrugated plastic pipe; and another a grate system with a rectangular plastic piping. All estimates were within a similar cost range. These differences led me to contact a fourth; that was Jersey Dry. Darek Snella provided a comprehensive explanation detailing the scope of work and an estimate for the French drain and two sump pumps. He suggested insulating and encapsulating a crawl space as a separate project. Frankly, that was a sound idea and something I hadn't thought about yet made perfect sense. At no time was there any sales pressure. The estimate was in line with the others. After I contacted quite a few of the provided references and heard lots of reassuring comments about Jersey Dry and Darek and Jerry, I called Darek and he returned to take exacting measurements and to video the specifics of the excavation work. A modest down payment was given and a start date chosen. On the scheduled day, Jerry and the crew promptly arrived. He is a master at his craft as are the team members. Jerry kept me informed on the progress of the work at the start and end of each day. To my surprise, there was never a mess or any dust infiltrating from the basement to upstairs. At the end of each work day, the area was tidied. The noise level was well below than anticipated. Neatness, communicative, friendly and concern - attributes that made the project go well. The crawl space was insulated, leveled and encapsulated, providing unexpected storage. A note about the discharge pipe. Our town doesn't permit cutting the curb to make an opening for the discharge pipe. One of the initial three contractors planned to extend the pipe to the street by cutting a section of the sidewalk and the curb. The other two planned on the outflow to end in the middle of the lawn. Darek (Jersey Dry) planned to excavate under the sidewalk for the discharge pipe and to end with a pop-up at the edge of the curb. No cutting of either the sidewalk slab or the curb. That's what was done and it works without a problem.
