I wanted to stop and see what the hype was about. Well, it's your typical fish fry place you find in the hood with the usual fried chicken, fish, okra, hush puppies.... I got the chicken wings and fried okra. I placed my order and waited 15 minutes to receive it. The chicken was fresh, hot and fried to perfection. The "crack season" which is lemon pepper seasoning is what primarily gives its flavor. The chicken itself had no flavor, so I wouldn't advised getting it without the crack seasoning. They put just the right amount on there, not too much or too little . Some places can go overboard due to the popularity of the season but that wasn't the case here. The okra was really good. They have a small section to purchase some ethics food items and a display full of desserts to choose from. You can even buy the crack seasoning as well. It's not dine in so you get your order to go but they do have a few chairs for waiting.

    Doesn't clean chicken correctly

I just ordered and picked up in each wing has feathers on it. Service was OK though. But overall, the chicken is good. I had to wait a lot of of the chicken pieces, but I will not be going back.

Their fish sandwiches are pitiful. Don't waste your money here. As for their chicken, it's only okay.

Mightee fine chicken drums. $4.99 for five. Might try the perch and blue gill before too long.

They have a wonderful beer garden with live music on the weekends. They will not serve you without an ID, even if your hair is gray. Gosh, I didn't know what I was missing. This is a true IYKYK! Once you have visited Horrocks, you will return for life. This is a magnificent, rustic, unique, expansive establishment that offers a cornucopia of items. From floral, to meats, cheeses, wine, speciality items, fruits, snacks, vegetables, hard-to-find items and more. There is so much more! Things that stood out even though I loved everything about this place: -the vast selection of canisters of olive oils -the vast array of different varieties of balsamic vinegars (amazing!) -house made items in every area -house made popcorn with so many flavors, so fresh. -the many, many homemade soups: probably around 20 different kinds and delicious. -a ramen bar, what? -bakery -pizzeria -exotic fruits and vegetables and regulars ones too -the wine bar: sip while you shop. -house-made sausages and cheeses -house-made jams, jellies, local honey -extensive variety of spices, herbs, flour and grains - great service, very helpful. This is a must try and truly a destination. I cannot wait to shop and browse here again!

The restaurant was warm and inviting. Very clean. Outdoor area has large picnic tables with an overhang in case it is raining or you want to be in the shade. This new location has been open for 1 month everything ran extremely well. We had a hard time deciding as we all love Mediterranean food! They helped us put together a perfect platter which included grilled lamb and beef kabobs as well as kefta - ground beef or lamb with added parsely and spices. All served over rice and fine noodles with sautéd vegetables peppers (not spicy at all), carrots and squash. It was delicious! We were surprised when our meal came with hummus and warm pita bread topped with olive oil. We also ordered large Greek salad which was dressed with plenty of olives and feta cheese. Oh also ordered the best ever rolled grape leaves with lamb and rice. We had to have the baklava as well we tried both the ground pistachio filling as well as the walnuts. We had plenty of food! Bassema, one of the employees, sat with us as we ate dinner and we had a delightful visit! Such a kind woman! We had a great experience and dinner was hands down delicious. We had not been to this new location of Saltans but had been to their location in east Lansing years ago. Authentic Mediterranean food with generous portions. Expect the best at this new location! Thank you Saltan's for a great ending to our roadtrip!

The place is conveniently located on Saginaw HWY along with a lot of other eateries. There is lots of parking. The restaurant has some mileage to it as it is a bit dated, but I liked it. We enjoyed the big booths and large table. Lucky it was large because we ordered more than a few things. To start, we ordered the onion rings and the fried cheese for our appetizers. They were both quite good, but my favorite was the onion rings fried to perfection. Light and crunchy and just a great bite. We also ordered what Cheddars calls the painkiller. It is a large tasty drink that is sort of a combination of a piña colada Meets a Mai Thai. The meals included the Key West chicken and it comes with rice and two sides. It has a kick to it and it's really flavorful and tender. We also ordered the sirloin and the hand breaded chicken tenders. Both were quite delicious and I love the crunch on the chicken tenders. The sides were also really nice and they included the sweet carrots and the broccoli cheese casserole along with crispy fries. This was quite a meal and it filled us up in a very happy way. We ate up and we left very happy and full with the idea of returning here soon. I don't live around here but when I visit this area, I will definitely stop here again.

Floors everywhere were extremely dirty, bathrooms dirty, and when I peaked inside the kitchen (while walking by) so filthy (to be honest, we considered leaving before even ordering anything!). HOSTESS & SERVER: The hostesses were fine, not rude but not friendly either. Our server (male with dark hair) was very nice, he at times gave off a vibe of being new. The service is still very SLOW, so plan to be sitting awhile waiting to order, get food, etc. FOOD: This is what we ordered.... Cheddars Trio Sampler -- 3 Choices were: Chicken Tenders, Wisconsin Cheese Bites, and Queso Fries. Taste: Chicken tenders were good, cheese bites were very good (greasy though), queso fries were alright. Size: average. Price: $12.49 Cheddars Trio Sampler -- 3 Choices were: Chicken Tenders, Chips & Queso w/meat, and Queso Fries. Taste: Chicken tenders were good, chips were good, queso with meat was fine, queso fries were alright. Size: average. Price: $12.49 Monte Cristo -- Taste: it was alright but found it was too sweet and got sickening to eat after the first piece. Size: average. Price: $11.99 Baby Back Ribs -- Taste: very dry. Overall flavor was alright but we had a hard time getting past how dry and tough they were. Greens beans were not very good. Mashed potatoes were good. Size: average. Price: $16.49 OVERALL THOUGHTS: Server was very kind but service in general is slow. Cleanliness has definitely been lacking and I honestly would hate to see what happens in the kitchen!! WOULD I RETURN? Probably not, mostly due to the state of cleanliness the whole establishment was in.

At first I thought the Seafood Boil were run by Vietnamese, only to realize the restaurant was operated by Chinese cooks. Kid server recommended the Blue Punch and I ordered another Margarita Lime since it was Happy Hour on a Monday. I started off with a Philly Eggrolls...pretty mid...exactly what you'd expect out of a Sysco Catalog because c'Mon who in their right mind will hand roll a Philly Egg Roll...let alone trays upon trays everyday in the back kitchen. It was salty, and over powdered by wannabephillycheescakeness. Next the Raw Oysters...these were the highlight of the night...I know they may have been frozen..but in all honesty it's been 3 hours since I swallowed 6 oysters and I'm still alive. Probably the cocktails aided in killing any excess bacteria.. And onto the main entree, I went with their signature boil and just want to go on the record. The shrimps will taste better with head on. The crab legs were good. The thing I didn't feel was up to my expectations was their house sauce that they boil everything together in. It lacked a punch, it lacked flavor. There was an overall lack of Garlic, Lemon Zest, Lemon Pepper, White Pepper and Brown Pepper, and there was a lack of MSG, and also lack of cayenne peppers and ghost pepper powders. And because of this, I'm giving the Boil a grade of C. Service was A+ Cocktails were B+ Oysters were A Appetizers were C Boil was C So the average was 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5. I forgot about the lobster bisque...I know it's not real lobster, they usually put langastinio crawfish in there...but the soup was too Salty.
