This restaurant is a religion for my family. Once a year, we make a pilgrimage for the best crabs in the world. Our experience this time was underwhelming. Service was overwhelmed and had a negative attitude. We felt like we were bothering our waitress each time she asked to take our order. We tried to be as quick and helpful as possible! The crabs rocked, as usual. The snow crab legs are heaven on earth. However, the fries were soggy, and the crab dip had NO crab AND a hair. Yuck! The pop machine was also broken because my root beer was watered down so much. Will we be back here? Obviously. I hope it's a better experience next time! read more

If you love seafood and don't need a fancy place to dig into some delicious, fresh seafood then Crabby's is a great place to visit. After a short wait for a table we shared a feast of 5 large crabs, a dozen tasty little necks , an amazing cup of crab soup loaded with succulent crab, fries with aioli crab sauce( so good) and dessert plate with a sour cream, brown sugar, and a heaping stack of sweet strawberries. I recently visited Crabby Restaurant with a group of friends, and unfortunately, our experience was less than ideal. We had a group of nine people and sit at two separate tables (they don't have one table that could accommodated nine) --one with four people and the other with five-- they should not automatic applied 20% gratuity to parties of six or more. We made it clear that we wanted separate checks for each table. Despite that, our server still added the 20% gratuity (after tax), which felt misleading and dishonest. When we questioned it, we didn't get a clear or satisfactory explanation. To make matters worse, one of my friends who ordered takeout was also charged a 20% gratuity on his to-go order--something we've never experienced at any other restaurant. This just added to the feeling that we were being taken advantage of. When we questioned she was mumbling and then said will take off the gratuity on the to go order. I forgot to take a photo of the check. As for the food, we tried the sampler platter, which we found to be overpriced for what was served one King crab leg (dry and no meat), half Dungeness, half snow and two blue crabs for $109.99. Nothing particularly stood out in terms of flavor or presentation. Overall, the experience left a bad taste--not just from the food, but from the way the situation was handled. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Crabby Restaurant based on this visit. read more

I passed this place a bunch of times and it has been on my list. Today was the day. I got in there around 1:30 on a Friday during the summer. Not busy. Plenty of parking. Old school charm. 38 years in business. Jan has been there from day one. Very helpful and nice. I ordered the seafood gumbo. Not too spicy. Best soup I've had in a long time. I ordered these French fries with crab on them and some type of garlic sauce. Fries looked to be made from scratch. Very tasty. I ordered these 3 large blue crabs. Not a fan of picking them apart but they were cooked perfectly and tasted good. They don't broil their crabs cakes and so I chose actual crabs. I'd go back. Not too far from Philly and worth the trip, even if you're not going down to the shore. read more

I love that they offer an all you can eat special on select days for only $39.99 per person, but you can also order by the pound. There's also plenty of options with no cracking required & a full bar - try their Crabby Mary if you like savory drinks. Service is always on point & you'll never wait long for a refill when you're doing the all you can eat! They are located in May's Landing in South Jersey but this is a seasonal restaurant that's currently closed. They do use FB, so check em out for their latest updates! read more

This is a local bar with amazing seafood. We started off with the crab soup (not shown) which was rich and creamy. Then we had the real loaded crappy fries which hands down where some of the best fries I've ever had and I consider myself a French fry expert. They were crispy crunchy fries (not breaded) topped with real crab meat and a garlic aïoli sauce which had a taste of vinegar what a great combination. I ate so many that I couldn't finish my meal. My husband had the shrimp fra diavolo which had just the right amount of spice and firm shrimp. I had the ahi tuna steak blackened with broccoli which was cooked perfectly meaning it was raw. The place itself is lit much to look at. Picnic tables covered in paper and dollar bills hanging from the ceiling. Services was fine. read more

Food was decent. Service pleasant and ambience casual and kitschy. But customers, please check the market price before ordering seafood. Hubby and I each ordered 1 1/2 of snow crab legs which cost us $115 for the crab legs alone. Crabby's, maybe throw in some fries or a free soft drink as perceived value so your customers don't feel they have been thrown down and attacked when they receive the bill. read more

We have been driving past this place for 50 years (sorry) so we finally decided to drop in on the way back from the shore. Our new favorite place! Wish we would have done it sooner. Everything we ordered was delicious. It's a "hole in the wall" kind of place, and i mean that in a good way. Great menu! Dungeness, Snow, Blue and other crabs cooked all kinds of ways, and plenty of other seafood choices. I got three jumbo blues to pick myself, and it was messy fun. My server made good recommendations and got me settled in quickly, even though there were large groups in back. Honestly, I could be snobby and criticize the place for this or that, but I had exactly what I wanted, which is what they do well. It's not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for. And I enjoyed the meal, which is the most important. read more

Fresh seafood! I loved that the crabs were on the drier side. I hate when the shells are filled with water and messy. The large clams were flavorful. So much food for two people. We also shared a bowl of the he-crab soup. A ton of crab. A little sweet but a good balance of flavors. And we tried the eggplant fries appetizer. The breading was light so we got to taste the eggplant. I loved everything and was beyond full but the table next to us highly recommended the strawberry dessert. I eat strawberries daily so I was a little hesitant. How good could they be, right??? This was insane. They had the most ripe strawberries and then served them with sides of sour cream and brown sugar. Yes, sour cream! So you dip the strawberry in the sour cream and then the brown sugar. I'm still baffled but will have trouble eating my plain strawberries every morning..... I think this place will become a regular part of our rotation!!!! read more

I like to get the bad out of the way first.... 1 star taken away because it is rather expensive for blue crabs and you have really no choice in size. $6.50 per crab is a bit much. With that said the crabs were a nice size , cooked perfectly, seasoned well and accompanied by delicious garlic butter sauce on the side. I was really looking forward to getting the garlic sautéed crabs but they aren't served for takeout . We also tried the stuffed mushrooms which are a little different... how so? Well , they are mushrooms cut into smaller pieces and then topped with a large mound of lump crab meat and seasoning. All in all we would definitely recommend this place! read more

I had my first crabs of the season at Crabby's. Three crabs (jumbo), at the market price, streaming hot and fresh. The first one was perfect. The second crab was a little light, but still good. The chef came out to check on his customers. One of the other patrons complained that although the crabs were jumbo, they lacked a lot of meat. I was still working on the second crab, I showed the chef that it was lacking-I broke open the third one and it was subpar. The chef immediately said he would send out two more crabs and he did. BEST CRABS EVER (and I am from Virginia and worked at York River Seafood as a crab picker in the summer and on vacations through high school and college). I really appreciate the chef. I had not been in Crabby's for at least 25 years. I loved it then and I am a fan now. read more

We ate there last night. Our waitress was really nice, she recommended the scampi. We both had scampi and it was horrible,very oily and mine had tons of garlic hers had little. I ate half of mine and threw the rest away. My stomach is still upset. I couldn't even have my morning coffee and I love my morning coffee. The He Crab soup was great but that's about it. If this place ever closed there'd be a huge loss to the Jersey shore since the best seafood in Atlantic County is not in any of the island communities but rather inland here at Crabby's. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a great seafood place, picnic style tables, plenty of paper towels, and no glitz. The food is not cheap but you get what you pay for and at Crabby's you get perfectly prepared seafood and the crabby Mary cocktails can't be skipped. They're so good it's easy to over-consume so thankfully you'll leave with a full stomach from the all you can eat snow, blue, or Dungeness crabs plus shrimp and pasta. Sometimes they run out of my personal favorite dish here, their gumbo. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu here, but be prepared for a sizable check, great seafood is never cheap. read more

So this place is only a 1/2 hour from me. Ive always heard it was good but I have a weird quirk that if somewhere isnt really open and inviting I just dont go. Its a little building with little windows in the woods on rt50. Just wasnt feeling it. My intuition is usually right. This time it was not at all. You walk in and it looks like a little shore crab shack. Picnic tables and just a cool vibe. 5 of us got the All You Can Eat Snows and Shrimp. OMG. Amazing. This iconic place is what eating "down the shore" means. It's a small place but it packs a bigger culinary punch than any (blah!) Red Lobster. If you want ambiance, then head into AC. But if it's excellent food, fast service and a down-home, friendly atmosphere you are looking for, then Crabby's is well-worth the drive no matter where you're coming from! Their Crabby Mary's are a MUST (even for a non-drinker, like me.) They go down so smoothly then BAM!!! But it's the She-Crab Soup that's to die for. Truly!!
